Years ago, on our first RV trip, we found ourselves boondocking on BLM land in Arizona in a place that fits the description, “the middle of nowhere”. The story of what happened there is one I’ve often repeated since – whenever we’re asked if we've feared for our safety or had any bad experiences when camped so far from civilization.

Stories by members about their adventures with Boondockers Welcome
This week we're excited to feature members Michael Sutton & Louise Levergneux michaeljdsutton, who wrote us recently when renewing their guest subscription to say:
"This has been the best investment we have made since beginning full-time over a year ago. You guys are awesome."
We liked what they had to say so much that we asked them to tell us a bit more about themselves and their journey! Check out their story and video below, and be sure to visit their blog, the pictures alone are amazing!
This week we have a guest post from member gypsynaround who have a blog of their journey over at https://gypsynaround.wixsite.com/gypsynaround. Here, they give us the low-down on the differences between Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts, and some of the pros and cons of each as they've seen them. If you like what you read be sure to head over to to their blog and follow the rest of their journey!
Hosting Boondockers Welcome members is an amazing experience almost every time, but there are always ways to improve the experience for both guests and hosts. We'd like to thank two host members for allowing us to share their tips for ensuring guests feel welcome, and enjoy their stay.
Thank you to SmokinSoleResort, who sent us this story and the photos to go with it.
As you read it, I'd like to draw your attention to this line: "It's different each time you host. Some guests like to hang out with the hosts for part of the time while others just park and say thank you and then go do their own thing."
(We wouldn't want guests to expect this level of hospitality from every host or, in fact, from this host on every occasion).
One of our amazing members, Malcolm Sandy of Terry and Malcolm took the time a good while back to write an account of their first trip as Boondockers Welcome members; it was also their first real trip as RVers to boot! It's definitely a story of perseverance and generosity, and we're so glad that we finally have a place to share it. And we're happy to say that they've stuck with it and remain founding members and have hosted over 30 guests on their property!
This is the first in a series of "member stories" posts that we'll be featuring on a regular basis.
