Get Ready for a New Boondockers Welcome Site
On launch, all your Boondockers Welcome data including your profiles, past stays and messages, references from other members, etc, will be available on the new integrated site.
As a reminder, Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts will continue to operate as separate programs, each of which require a separate membership. For those of you with active accounts on both programs, we will merge the website and app experience at launch.

✅ Getting Ready
We’re asking for all Boondockers Welcome members to take a few simple steps to make this a smooth transition process:
- Make note of your email address for your Boondockers Welcome account. Login on the new integrated site will be by email address only, not by username, so knowing it will be key!
- Use the same email address for both Boondockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts accounts. For those members that currently have accounts on both programs, we will merge them so you can access integrated functionality, but it is imperative that you ensure both accounts have the same primary email address before the merge in early October.

- Download the Harvest Hosts Mobile App. With the launch of the new Boondockers Welcome site experience in October, we will be phasing out the Boondockers Welcome mobile app. At that point, Boondockers Welcome members will need to use the Harvest Hosts mobile app. We suggest that you download it now so you have it ready for launch. Please note that the current Boondockers Welcome app will remain live until the new site launches.

Sounds good thus far and prudent. The app transfer is good and same for emails. It seems to me that the BW hosts and HH hosts are the heart that pumps the lifeblood of the two symbiote. Those credits that I receive for each stay keep me motivated to excel as a BW Host.

I have ZERO interest in Harvest Hosts, and I really do NOT “embrace this change.” We have had wonderful relationships with several BW hosts, so for that reason only, I will see how this works. But it is NOT for the better for BW members at all, and your saying so does NOT make it so.

I’m with Pat Anderson. We’ve been founding members since 2012 and I will take a “wait and see” approach. I’m not against change. I do think it’s odd that since the two are merging, you still have to pay two membership fees. It should be one. Isn’t that part of the reason for a merge?
Both sites attract a different user and host base with different goals. The benefits (other than Harvest bought a huge database of users to expand its profit base) to us, the users, is still completely unknown.

I am a member of both and love each of them for what they provide in searching for overnight stops. The “search a route” feature is a welcomed change to Boondockers Welcome. I use that all the time with Harvest Host. I’m excited for this and I believe others will find it very helpful once they start using it.

As a member of both, I welcome the merge of the two. I was very excited to learn that now BW & HH locations can be found using the route map! The route map made our last cross country trip so much easier to find and reserve overnight stays. Now we can combine stays at HH and BW, especially for our longer trips. This for us is really the best of both worlds.

I’m hoping that the roll out in October doesn’t have the difficulties I’m experiencing now that I’ve downloaded HH as suggested in emails from HH. I like BW site functionality but can’t do anything currently in HH. I’ll wait until full roll-out but suspecting there will be more changes ($) then promised.

That is the way HH works and for that matter most fee based apps. As the emails you have received have told you, when the merger is complete then you will be able to logon using your BDW credentials. However, since you are not paying for HH you will only see BDW sites.
