Happily divorced! Love scenery, especially waterfalls, trying new foods, being out with no phone, TV, or radio, or time constraints....okay, maybe a little Netflix at night.
Will pull over to enjoy a flea market, tiny museum, or other point of interest.
Still an excellent DIY'er, maintain my own home & property.
Currently in my fourth term as President of an Over-55 Singles Social Club, which is just fun!
Love card & board games, Sudoku, etc., etc.
Have 2 10-lb rescue dogs that travel with me. (I pick up after them!)
My RV is an older Winnebago Rialta. Altho it is a '96, it has less than 50,000 miles on it, I got lucky. I have heavily modified the interior to suit me and the dogs, and my penchant for naps, lol!
At home, I live very near Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, scenic Mystic Ct, and only about an hour from both downtown Providence, New Haven, and Hartford, right near I-95.
I have both water & electric hookups available next to my quiet house on on a dead-en street, a level, gravel driveway, and excellent neighbors, too.
Really good remodeler and DIY-er. Decent dog trainer, altho this last dog is humbling me!
Excellent at inventing storage solutions!
2 very small resce mixes, they love travel, their crate has its own window just for them!
Anyplace with water, waterfalls, scenic spots. Not fond of driving the RV in big cities!
Groton CT, right near Mystic, New London, 2 Casinos,( Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods) the ocean. 1 hour by I-95 to Providence, Hartford, New Haven.
'96 Winnebago Rialta, 22' x 10' x 9.5' tall, fully self-contained. No slides, no TV. Easily fits in an average parking spot. Prefer an electrical hook-up so dogs can stay cool....I do have a generator, but it can be unreliable at times.
Anne treated us like long lost family, we couldn't have felt more welcome or comfortable. She has a very nice, cozy space and she made sure we were comfortably settled in and was sure to check in on us regularly to be sure all was well. We couldn't have been happier and hope that Anne has great experiences when she travels with other Boondocker hosts.
For future visitors, we found it was easier to back into her driveway by turning around on the dead end street first, from the left as the grading of the driveway into the street is a bit more level from that direction. Make sure to visit the Submarine Force Library and Museum (free), eat at Paul's Pasta Shop (great food and views of New London) and hike Bluff Point State Park out to Bluff Point with scenic views of Long Island Sound.
Anne has a great home and yard that is convenient to local attractions and services. Thanks to her recommendation we visited at a great family restaurant on the water for some chianti and delicious Italian food.
Next time we’re out we will go for Karioke ;)
We learned a lot about the area and felt very welcone and at home. Thank you!
Lovely front cottage garden. Fenced rear yard access for our small dog to run. Close to Navy submarine base and local beaches. Hostess met us, made certain we had our comforts, pointed out some local interests, and then gave us our privacy. Thanks for the hospitality!
Anne was so much fun to talk with and so offering of everything, even taking our trash off our hands. Water bottles really mount up. Very quiet and dark.
We were so honored to be Anne's first boondockers! She might surprise you - especially if her dog Charlie gets loose upon your arrival - but don't let that scare you!! She is a wonderful hostess, has an amazing gift of "do it yourself" ability (as reflected in her warm and inviting home and property), and has the cutest little doggies, Wendy and Charlie. We stayed with her one night and took our RV on the Long Island Sound Ferry from New London, CT to Orient, Long Island, NY the next morning (a little pricey - $78 - but well worth it). This was a wonderful place to stay with an equally wonderful hostess!! Looking forward to seeing you, Anne, when you come to Michigan!! Thanks so much!
