We live in a small downtown area. Normal city street in front of our house. The driveway and gate to enter into the yard are very narrow (10 feet wide). The driveway is limestone. We have a great back porch that your more than welcome to enjoy!

Site Description

We would love to have y'all!

We have a big fenced in area on our side yard and partially into the back yard. Located about 15 minutes off I12 in Covington, LA About 45 minutes from downtown New Orleans. We live in a super cool small town. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars, art galleries, etc. all within walking distance of the house. Its a basic place to stay, chill, and get to see the city of New Orleans nearby.

Suggested Local Attractions

New Orleans is 45 minutes away.

There is still tons of great things to do and see here. You can also borrow our two bikes and I have two long board skateboards if you enjoy skating.

Within walking distance:

Library
Restaurants from cheap burgers to amazing 5 star
Covington Brewery
Coffee Shops
Art Galleries
Bars
Grocery Store

There is a trace here that is 31 miles of old paved railroad tracks. Great for walking or riding bikes on. You can ride all the way to lake Pontchartrain and plenty of small cool towns in between.

Just completed a 4.5 year journey on our sailboat from NYC through the entire East Coast, Mexico, Central America down to Colombia and the entire Eastern Caribbean. Just sold the boat and bought a Class B van. Currently rebuilding the van and getting ready to head West then South through Mexico and beyond.

Super chill and always looking to meet other nice like minded people.

What a great host! Matt welcomed me even though I was really last minute and showed up earlier than expected. He rushed home to help me and we had a great conversation about our travels and compared notes. His driveway is nice and level and wide enough. I slept well. Very quiet and comfortable. Would ,I've to go back.

What a great host. CaptainPeppers has a nice location on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain. It's a quiet street with no night time noise and plenty of room for our class B camper van. It was an easy drive into New Orleans although we found great bike trails, restaurants and brewery's on his side of the lake.

It was great learning about his sailing days and future plans of being on the road in his rv. Hope all goes well with the conversion and will keep an eye out for you during our travels.

CaptainPeppers and his lady were so kind to let us come and park with them for 2 nights. We decided to stay last minute and he was very responsive. They are genuinely kind down to earth people who shared our wanderlust. It was great getting to sit with them and share travel stories, both good and crazy. They are the type of people who know no strangers and you leave with new friends. We certainly did, and we are thankful for their amazing hospitality!
The space in their side yard/drive way had no issues accommodating our 19ft camper van.
The town of Covington, LA is absolutely adorable and we really enjoyed biking around this quaint little spot. Try out the Abita Roasters coffee shop while your there; they have amazing coffee. There is a great family owned grocery store within walking distance with an incredible wine selection.
Thank you both for letting us crash into your yard and welcoming us like family! We appreciate everything and know our paths will certainly cross again soon:)
