J&K were very hospitable hosts. J helped us out with a tire issue, even going so far as to drive us somewhere to get it fixed! We enjoyed a lovely, level location to park, peace and quiet, and were able to spend some time getting to know them and were the recipients of their knowledge of the area. We will be back if we are in their area again. Thanks J&K!
While attending a wedding in the area we were accommodated in our truck camper. Navigation was not difficult. This was our first experience as a BoondockersWelcome.com guest and we were delighted. We hope to cross paths again soon as well as provide the same sort of experience when we host. Not only did we get the opportunity to chat about the history of BoondockersWelcome.com but several other topics. So much A+... very appreciated.
Joe helped me try and melt a block of ice in my black tank while we were there in early January w/its freezing temps. Not too many hosts would do that! Anyway, we couldn't melt it, but it did melt when we got to Athens Georgia! Whopee. Joe & Kathy we count as friends, and they are always so nice to us. We'll see them again in 2018!
These guys truly are great hosts, they welcomed our visit and only let us know after we arrived that a family member was getting married two days later. With all the arrangements being made and rehersal that night, they still found time to spend with us chatting and treated us like family. I soon worked out that Joe is a wealth of knowledge in regard to anything mechanical, so I mentioned to Joe that my generator remote start had stopped working recently, he suggested that the stop switch on the generator itself could be causing the problem. Next day we camped in a State Park, while there I removed the start / stop switch on the generator and cleaned all the accessable spade terminals and much to our delight the remote now works fine, Thanks Joe!!! and congratulations to the Bride and Groom. You guys are most welcome to visit us in Australia if you get to make the trip!!
Cheers, Doug & Di
on a semi-recent trip to pennsylvania,we stayed on their property for 2nights. they were very friendly and helpful. we were invited into their beautiful home and chatted about our travels and their upcoming trip.
Joe & Kathy were very accommodating during our stay in PA. When we arrived later than planned due to a tire problem, Joe was waiting on the porch to show us where to park. The parking is nice and quiet and offers a welcome haven after a long day on the road. We thank you for your hospitality & for the extra nights stay - definitely recommend staying here (and when they get on the road, if they ask you to stay, give them a great spot!).
I can't thank Joe and Kathy enough for what they did for us. I had 2 small problems with me RV and Joe fixed one problem and believe it or not had the part I needed for the second problem which he graciously gave me. The next morning Kathy fixed breakfast for us and when I asked if we could spend an additional night with them they immediately said yes. They have a very nice place to park and setup. We really enjoyed both Joe and Kathy and the opportunity to stay here.
They gave us some items from their garden and some other things that made us feel very special and so thankful that we picked them to stay we.
Hopefully we will meet them again someday, somewhere.
We stayed one night at Joe & Kathy's, nice quiet area in the wooded area of Pennsylvania. Our host provided power and a nice level area to stay.
Joe and Kathy have a very special spot, Beautiful landscaped and secluded property, nice home and Joe has a very special Shop never seen anything like this in someones backyard,He can answer most mechanical questions you may have ''Try him!" Kathy even offered to feed us. Francine was just not up to make the walk up the hill and I missed out on Kathy's lazangna Truly enjoyed our stay
My wife and I were traveling from PEI, Canada, to winter in southern Mississippi in Jan. 2013. One of our boondocking experiences was with Joe and Kathy in Pennsylvania. They provided a safe, comfortable location near their home and got us hooked up without trouble. We spent a quiet night. This was our first 2013 boondocking experience, and it was a good one. I suspect we'll see them again.
This spot is near Allentown down a bunch of winding roads. I'm sure we would have found it with a map, but the GPS was invaluable. Nice level grass lawn. Pull through. We used our generator sparingly. Joe is very knowledgeable and helpful and is super considerate. Highly recommended.
