Have been off the road temporarily for 3 years to minister at Mandeville Christian Church in Louisiana. Our ministry has come to an end and we are back on the road again. Hope to meet some more Boondockers!
Husband has experience in auto mechanics, and carpentry. Wife was a bookkeeper, and loves to cook. We are into classic cars and own a '65 Impala, and a '66 Chevelle Malibu.

We only intended on staying 2 nights but ran into delays and stayed 6 nights. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The members of the church were likewise friendly and very interesting people. The site was peaceful and safe. We wished that we could stay longer but the West was calling us.
We arrived planning on staying for a week while we worked on a Habitat for Humanity project but ended up staying more than two weeks! We made new friends, went to plantations and parades with them, dined together, and nearly became family. Linn, Lynn, and Kevin were helpful, generous and caring, we loved them all!
This was our first Boondocker Welcome experience and it was awesome. Linn and Lynn were so gracious and made sure we had everything we needed, had information packets and brochures. We only stayed for 2 days and wanted to stay longer but we had reservations. The maps into New Orleans were very helpful along with ideas of have-to-go places and what not to miss. I think I could have stayed a month and not gotten tired of visiting and seeing the area. Looking forward to returning and visiting with them. The congregation was very welcoming for church services and the pastor came out and wished us well on our journeys. If all hosts are like this, I'm not sure we'll focus on this type of travel vs. resorts. Great experience.
Wonderful place and wonderful hosts! It was sooo difficult to leave... Hope to come back some day.
We stayed for two weeks in this beautiful park. Linn and Lynn went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us all kind of tips on local attractions and services. We got to meet other Boondockers as well. Great home base for a trip to New Orleans.
Who would have guessed that a church parking lot could be so much like a small and comfortable RV campground. We parked on a shady grass lawn and our hosts went far beyond expectations to make us welcome and ensure we had everything we could possibly need. They even had made up a package of information and maps with driving routes and parking marked for New Orleans. This would be a great location for day trips into the city and they suggested we stay on longer to do that. It seems they host RVing friends quite often and don't seem to tire of it. For us, it was just a one-night touchdown but, now that we know how easy it would be, next time we'll definitely stay longer and visit the French Quarter from here. Thank you!
