Hello! We are a family from Alaska. I grew up around the Philadelphia area and moved to Alaska about 10 years ago. The rest of the family has little to no experience with the continental United States. We are on a quest to show the kids the country and have them gain experiences in new and different cultures. We also want to help bring what they are learning in school alive. We want to help them understand things like deserts, forests (we live on the Tundra), all the different animals, the Grand Canyon, the Civil War, theme parks, coral reefs, and so much more through more than just pictures or videos. We want them to experience different cultural traditions and foods and grow an appreciation for all the different aspects of this great country.
While we personally can't offer a free place to stay in Alaska at this point, we certainly can help with places to stay (both free and pay), things to do, things to avoid, how to get there, etc... Heck, if you catch us on a summer we are in Alaska perhaps we can show you around a little bit.
Also, my better half can introduce you to some different yummy Yupik (Native Alaskan) dishes if you are interested.
