Nice and quiet evening, Got a great nights sleep. Wonderful friendly hosts.
Had a great evening and early morning paraplane show.
Definitely follow hosts directions for getting in driveway. We did and our 33ft trailer did drag a little on one corner.
Nice little quiet spot with a 15 amp hookup. Thanks for the stay!
We enjoyed our quiet overnight here! The hosts were very kind and we saw lots of parachuters.
My husband, two dog children and I spent one very pleasant night at DanG’s property in the country. DanG was welcoming, very helpful getting us situated, and spent some time visiting with us, telling great stories. We had a very comfortable overnight experience here and expect to return again. This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience - a very good experience!
The directions worked perfectly to find the place, but read them carefully. I didn't, so I missed it the first time and had to turn around. Host had 2 Silver Streaks and 2 other old Airstreams on the property that were neat to see. Parking was on grass but was firm and fairly level. I didn't have any problem leveling my 30,000lb. class A. Host offered 15A power, but I didn't need it. With COVID-19, I really limited my interactions with the host to protect both of us, but he was very nice and accommodating in the brief conversation that we had.
We truly enjoyed our night here at Dan’s place, we had a rough day (had a second tire issue on this trip, spare blew out). I called Dan to let him know we would be there a bit later than anticipated and he was so kind and gracious. We had roadside assistance, but since it was our spare that blew we didn’t have a tire. He pointed me to his local tire guy who got us a great deal so we could get back on the road. Dan’s little piece of heaven was just the perfect environment after such a hard day. Thank you for everything, hopefully we can visit again soon when we can actually chat more!
Dan, Was very fast in accepting our request and his directions were spot on. He was working when we arrived so we parked beyond his house and sent him a picture of where we parked our MH and he texted us back saying that it was OK. Not sure if this was necessary because there's plenty of room to park. BTW If you have time, go to Lockhart for BBQ. We went there and enjoyed BBQ from 3 out 5 of the BBQ restaurants in Lockhart.
We really enjoyed visiting with Dan G. We didn’t have enough time to get into stories, there could’ve been a lot I’m sure. We learned about some of the local music scene. love his space, great views, great collection of old trailers. We would like to come back when we have more time.
Dan is a great host, his place is beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for another great visit!
Beautiful piece of property with amazing views, gorgeous sunsets, and one of the kindest, friendliest couples you'll meet!
Very quiet location with the best full moon. I was just passing through, met another couple from Minnesota and was thankful for the stop!
Arrived with friends. Nice large spot with very friendly hosts who spent some time visiting with us. They have travelled extensively and gave us lots of ideas and suggestions to places to visit on our way West. Just be weary of the large dip and angle. It could be tricky for larger 5 th wheels. Great state parks locally to visit. Thank you A and D .
Our hosts were very welcoming. We were provided with good instructions about entering the property and our host helped guide us into the spots for us and the friends we were travelling with.
We spent some time chatting our hosts during our stay.
We had an opportunity to visit Luling and enjoyed a wonderful BBQ brisket lunch at the City Market.
Thank you D and A for your generous hospitality and maybe we will have the chance to visit again.

Dan is a nice guy and we had no problem finding it. Lots of open space and we appreciated being able to hook up to the electricity.
Dan was a great host. Even though he and his wife were on their way out to watch a steam train, he allowed us to stay and work on a project while we were there. Our new roof vent is in and our kitties enjoyed watching the sheep grazing in the pasture next to us. Taking the driveway at an angle worked great in our 38' Class A as the dip wasn't too large. Watching the skydivers jump all weekend was a treat as well.
WOW... guess Im a bit late with this.. but hey.. sorry!!! This was a Great Stay.. Wish I could have stayed a little longer too. Wonderful host - nice quiet peaceful place.
Dan was a great host and his land is enviable. We shared an obsession with motorcycles, so he led us on an amazing tour of Luling and surrounding territories. The only problem we had was we didn't want to leave 😄
Started with a night’s stay, ended up staying much longer on this lovely pond/tank with birds, frogs and water. Dan is more than hospitable, allowed me so much privacy. On my first night he made an offer I couldn’t refuse - he suggested I volunteer at the Old Settler’s Music Festival 2019 and stay on his property while working at the festival. Met an amazing group of people and heard some amazing music. Thanks Dan for the serendipitous experience. It’s what traveling, self contained is all about. Best boondocking ever.
Dan could not have been more welcoming and friendly. This won’t be the last time we stay here!
Thank you for the nice peaceful spot. Loved the open space looking out over the fields. Electric really helped out with the fridge.
We really enjoyed staying here. The host was friendly and very helpful. We had beautiful view of flowers and a pond.
Love the soft roll of the hill, the valley in the distance and drop to the pond. So green will soft clover and grass. What a quiet pleasant spot. Dan so affable and easygoing. We left Luling with the best ribs, brisket and sausage from the Farmers Market. The folks in San Antonio said it was the best! Thanks Dan, see you in GA.
Again our stay was quiet and Mr. Dan is a true Texan with plenty of Texas hospitality. It's comforting to have had a soft place to land. Thank you Mr. Dan
DanG was nice and welcoming. He provided good instructions about entering his property, then helped to guide us into the spot. We only met for a short while and we wish we could have spent more time together but he was busy. He has a beautiful property that's quiet and relaxing. We'd stay here again if we have the chance.
Mr. Dan was very kind and helpful. He was gone most of the time but made sure we were settled first. We loved how quiet it was and would love to see the property in the spring. Thank you Mr. Dan
We arrived at Aracnidia Acres around 2pm. A little ahead of schedule. It was like being at home out in the country.
It was very quiet and peaceful and close enough to town to go get few things.
Next day was very cold so we explored Luling. Cute town with nice playgrounds and interesting things to look at.
We would love to make a stop here again in the future.
And it is an easy, 1 hour drive to Austin.
Thanks again, Mr Dan.

Luling is a GREAT little town full of spirit, just as is DanG. I love to get to know the locals, and staying with DanG near the town of Luling does just that. Felt very welcome, and had a lot of room for my small RV, and good for a little bigger one. Thanks, Dan!
Easy In, easy hook ups, easygoing and direct communication. A pleasure to have been here. The star filled sky was mesmerizing. To infinity and beyond.
Immediate responses, with excellent communications and accommodations. A must stop for I-10 E/W travelers. Sitting in a pasture with The night sky all around you, amazing.
Dan helped us when we had car problems. He gave us a place to stay. He hooked us up with a mechanic and gave us transport. We were so lucky to have hooked up with this host in our time of need. Plus he has a lot of cool connections if you like music and the festival scene. It was a really great experience.
Thanks, Dan! Much appreciation! May it all come 'round.
Tori, Betsy, and family.
Thanks to our host for a great experience! He made it easy for us, which we appreciate. Site/location was great. Recommend that other boondockers ask the host when the entry gate should be re-locked to make life easier for the host.
It was beautiful here when we stayed here in Dec. 2016 and even more beautiful in March of 2018. Dan is a great host and very accommodating. The laneway is in great shape but the entrance is low (as Dan has said). There are beautiful vistas and some large knarly post oaks on the property.
Stayed with DanG for a few nights and he is a great guy. Really kind and thoughtful. He has a beautiful place and he was good enough to hook us up with some power. Lots of space and beautiful scenery.
Can't say enough great things about Dan! Thank you!
We stayed at Dan's one night and quickly wished we had not been on such a tight schedule and could have stayed longer! Dan is a genuine guy and makes you immediately feel welcomed. Not to mention the drop dead gorgeous piece of property he shares with us boondockers! Highly recommended!
Late review here, but we stayed at Dan's back in early Jan of this year. He was quick with replies; provided great details; was welcoming, kind, & unique. We stayed 2 nights. Had a good time exploring Luling. Would def stay again. Much thx Dan!
Writing this as the sun sets over the pond.
Our host was not around but allowed us to stay in his quiet paradise.
Thank you.
This is what boondocking is all about.

Dan was very informative about what to see or do in the area. If you think Luling isn't somewhere to visit, you would be incorrect. The City Market has the best BBQ. Don't be daunted if there's a line inside...it's so worth the wait. If you wait until the end of their day, they may have run out of some items. Make sure you order more sausage than you can eat, because it's delicious.
After spending one night on his beautiful piece of land, Dan invited us to a party down the road hosted by his friends. We ended up spending four nights, playing music with some of the singer songwriters from the Austin area. We met a bunch of wonderful people and made new friends.
We'd definitely recommend staying at Dan's, and if we're back in the area, we will again.
NOTE: Pay special attention to Dan's description for entering his Luling property. There is a dip.
We stayed at Dan's farm for 2 nights. It is very quiet and rustic. We only saw Dan for a few minutes since he is on the road a lot. Seems like a very interesting man.Cedarbrook
Joining Boondockerswelcome is probably one of the best things I've ever done, and people like Dan are the reason why. I stayed at the property in Luling and it is a stunningly beautiful spot with a Ton of wildlife of all kinds, especially lots of birds. And it's very private and quiet, between a sheep farm, a cool old cemetery, longhorn grazing land, and a skydiving center which provides its own brand of entertainment. Less than 15 minutes to Walmart and Lockhart, which is a big enough town to have most of the services and shopping you might need, and plenty of good restaurants. Dan is friendly, welcoming, and an absolute joy to spend time with, and very knowledgeable about the local music scene, which is Really great. If you're anywhere near here I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Dan.
DanG hosted me for a while before thanksgiving 2014...he was very helpful in making my stay as comfortable as possible, recommended things in the area and respected my privacy...he was very welcoming and extended invitations to me, yet it was perfectly comfortable to decline as I needed...I was doing a mini-retreat, and some studying, so appreciated the connections we made, and the ability to be solitary, also...dan is a very interesting gentleman and has a beautiful spot of land which was perfect for my needs!...I can highly recommend him as a host!....
Great time, great guy, introduced us to a ton of his friends, most of them singer songwriters. We met so many good people through him and had a blast, and yet we only saw him a few times. The Maxwell location is out in the country and is nice and quiet, right down the street from Lockhart, the BBQ Capital of Texas. Close to Austin and San Antonio in the Texas Hill country. Loads of music venues and festivals in the area. Highly recommended.
