My wife and I are mostly retired (in our early 70s). I was, and still am on a volunteer basis, a Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona. My wife was a school teacher for a number of years. We have lived in Tucson, AZ off and on for over 30 years. We love to travel by Motor Home to various parts of the US, especially national parks. We have two sons and three grand children. We have traveled extensively outside of the US including many countries in Europe and the far east. Our current travel goal is to visit all of the National Parks in the US accessible by motor home. We love the outdoors and I am an avid hiker and biker. We are Christian and attend church on a regular basis. We love to met new people and look forward to welcoming fellow RVers to our home.
Have experience with Motor Homes, some computer skills, hiking and biking skills, good knowlege of local area, and many more.
No pets currently, but have had dogs in the past and welcome them to our property
National Parks and other public lands. Have not boondocked at any private residences but looking forward to doing so
Tucson, AZ
2015 Winnebago Vista 30T with three slides. It is nearly 31 feet long and we park it where visitors will park their rig.
Enjoyed our conversations! Very polite couple, would be happy to host anytime
Great couple to have here. If I am around your area I will look you up.
A Wonderful couple. I enjoyed meeting these folks and learning about there Travels. Couldn’t ask for nicer visitors! You are welcome back anytime and certainly in 2020 after they open the presidential library next door. Thank You for the thoughtful gift, I hope our paths cross again in the future. Safe Travels.
Wow! I did not know my reference didn’t post in February. My apologies to such welcoming and helpful hosts. Beautiful views and area for a bit of respite. Thank you!
Great stay & visit. So glad I could provide some location tips for their next trip. An excellent place from which to start the Scenic “Sky Islands” (Catalina Highway) drive.
Location, location, location! This is one of the most beautiful places to stay not only in the Tucson area but in all of southern Arizona. Close to the Catalina Mountains on what appears to be more than 1 acre, there’s even some majestic Saguaro cacti... Almost as spectacular as the Saguaro National parks!
The host, who is an experienced RVer, is extremely cordial and helpful. I would return here in a heartbeat!
We had a great stay and loved being out in the country and close to the national park. Host was very nice and helpful.
And helpful, too, in getting my rig situated and in providing a length of extension cord to get me plugged in. Interesting folks with lots of experience on the road enjoying life, especially as they have visited nearly every national park. They offer great hospitality in a very scenic (and convenient) location in northeast Tucson. Thank you!
Gary & Diane are experienced RVers, seasoned travelers, fun conversationists and great hosts. This was our first experience with Boondocks Welcome and we had a great stay!
Gary was a gracious host. He truly has a desert paradise in the foothills. We had a short stay but it was great to meet Gary and we are very thankful for the opportunity to stay at desert paradise!
Big place to out travel trailer 31 feet. Host very friendly. Quiet retreat. Just one night but very good expérience. Thank you very much
SKP greeted me when I arrived and was very cordial. Plenty of space. However, he told me that I would be the last guest here as he and his wife had just bought a 40' MH and would be putting their home up for sale. If I had the money I would buy it!! If you are looking for a base to RV from this would be it with a great view of the Catalina and Rincon Mnts.
Nice hosts. Appreciate the great spot and for allowing us to use some electricity.
We absolutely love love love Tucson Az . This place as wonderful and very clouse to main hike area and nature preserve.
Host was very nice, we was able to chat a bit.
Just one concern ! If you are over 30f long like we are 38f it was a bit tight to get in and out! We are Coach 38f long and 8.5 f wide. Other that that absolutely lovely place. If we in area we definitely will love to come back to visit again.
Our stay was very pleasant with beautiful scenery, and warm, hospitable hosts.
We were invited to visit with them our last night (stayed3). They are very interesting, and fun to talk with. She's a delight. He's very knowledgeable about hiking and bicycling in the Tucson area.
We'll definitely request to stay here again
Good parking area behind house, quiet and lots of room to turn my Class B around. Host was interesting to chat with. Thank you for a safe place to park not far from Phoenix.
SKP’s place in NE Tucson is beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed my stay there and appreciated the opportunity to plug in for a small fee. The vistas are stunning and a great place to walk and enjoy the desert landscape.
SKP120882 met us with suggestions for sightseeing. Offered water for the RV. The location is quiet, and easy to get to. We enjoyed talking with them as they are interesting people. I would like to stay there again.
Beautiful, quite spot in a great location for outdoor activity!
Thank you so much!
Wonderful stay. I arrived late but was able to visit with my wonderful host the next day. Beautiful setting in the desert. Great views of the mountains too. A sense of isolation for the suburbs.
Great location. Fantastic hosts. Very gracious. Our second visit and we will hopefully return again next year. Lots of hiking and cycling in the area.
Close to lots of hiking, biking and amenities. Gary and Diane were super generous hosts allowing us to stay and extra night and come back again in a couple of weeks.
Enjoyed a nice evening talking about previous trips and hiking areas.
Lovely location. Super People.
Gary welcomed us and made sure we had what we needed in his quiet backyard. Close to Tucson’s attractions, but away from the traffic. Stayng an extra night.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Visit town and the amazing Mount Lemmon. What a nice boondockers and so helpfull and friendly. Had nice talkings and drink a good glass of wine together. Hope to visit them again when we traveling next year again thrue the USA
Gary and Diane were excellent hosts. The property is easy to find, and they gave good instructions on how to access the site. The parking area in the rear of the property is a super boondocking place, open to the sky and plenty of open space. There is great walking for canine companions; do not miss the wash to the east where you can walk you dog off leash for miles if you desire. We shared a wonderful evening with them talking about our past trips.
