We are from Poland. We, the grown ups, are 33. Agata and Piotrek. Our daughter Zuza is almost 3 and our son Janek is just 6 months old. On March 31st we are landing in Chicago and starting our almost 6 months long road trip around USA.
Agata is the moving force that encourages us all to travel and pushes to do amazing (or sometimes crazy) things. She finds it stimulating to have things changing - all that is new fascinates her. New places, new people, new customs, new languages, new food. She wants to experience, truly experience (not just check off the list) as much as possible in life. She loves photography, food (both making and consuming), a night by the fire, playing guitar (it doesn't matter much that she doesn't really know how). Professionally an interaction designer.
Piotrek is the voice of reason. Most of the time. But he, too, has an adventurous soul with his passion for off-road driving and cars in general. Everybody likes Piotrek. He is easy going and easy to talk to. A good listener. Enjoys a nice beer, bonfires, hiking and snowboard. Professionally he does the magic behind online cloud services and such.
We both believe that often the best plan is not to plan too much. After all, the nicest things happen when you least expect them and most often you can't plan for them to happen anyway. Best memories come from wandering around unmarked streets in a foreign city, maybe even getting a bit lost. I guess we are true believers in the power of serendipity.
We want to use Boondockers Welcome not just as a free alternative to camping, but mostly to meet you guys - local experts! Let's have a nice tea together (or other beverage of choice). During this trip we want to enjoy meeting new people, experiencing nature, and cities. We would like to get a bit off the beaten path, see places that are known too locals, but often not mentioned in book guides. We wont to eat southern chicken that we read about in books and see a big farm with cows like in a movie about Temple Grandin. We want to confront what we know from American movies with reality.
If you're up to learning some polish we can teach :) We can share stories from our travels, cook you a nice meal, help with fixing your home network or computer.
We have a Toyota Tundra pick-up truck towing a 28 foot long Kingstone Springdale travel trailer. It is self contained and in a great shape.
