We are a retired couple who love to travel in our RV, but especially enjoy boondocking. My husband grew up in the prairies and I grew up in the mountains, so either landscape makes us happy. We relish the quiet and open spaces that boondocking often provides. Having said that, we have no problem staying overnight in casino parking lots either.
We have a 1999 33 foot Class A and tow a car, and have one 11 year old Scottie dog with us and a rather battered looking rescue cat, a bit long in the tooth but lovable. I have volunteered with animal rescue groups for the past 25 years so there will always be animals in our lives! My husband worked in natural resources for most of his career so we aren't what you'd call city folk.
We are long-standing members of Harvest Hosts and enjoy it immensely. Hopefully we will meet more like-minded travellers!
We travel with one Scottie dog and two cats, all are accomplished, well behaved travellers.
Mittry Lake, Yuma; Quartzite AZ (after the crowds have gone), Joshua Tree, Pahranaghat Lake, NV
and Harvest Hosts wineries in the Okanagan Valley of B.C., California and Arizona.
We live on Vancouver Island, B.C.
1999 Itasca Class A with one slide-out, 33 feet long. We tow a 2009 Chevy HHR.
Another season of Boondocking comes to a close, and everyone of our experiences has been pleasant. It was nice to meet ‘locals’ and hope they will come back again when they have more time to explore the area. Another friendly couple travelling with well behaved pets.
A wonderful couple! They shared their experiences in RVing with us newbies, and their lessons will be taken to heart!! We sincerely hope to become "RV buddies" with L and K! They are welcome back anytime!
