We are a couple who love travelling. We enjoy peace and quiet, in fact we thrive on it. If we are guests, you won't even know we are there. One of us is semi-retired with plans to be fully retired by mid-2017. The other one will be working a few more years then retiring. We will take shorter trips for now and longer trips once we are both retired. We love the outdoors, wilderness hiking, canoeing, exploring. Have been sailors and owned a cruising sailboat for many years (but not now). Love being grandparents of three (ages 1, 4 and 20) and hope to take one or more of them on RV'ing trips.
As a couple, we have a variety of skills (mechanics, computers, sewing, technical writing)
We have an elderly dog, Daisy. She is part lab/part husky and very friendly. Although we have had cats over the years, we lost one to cancer recently and have not brought another cat into our lives just yet. Our dog does not travel with us due to her age and health issues.
Anywhere interesting and quiet.
We own a 17-foot Alto by Safari Condo with retractable roof; no slideouts; have owned other camper trailers over the last 20 years or so.
Even though we could not be home to meet you, our neighbor gave you an A+. Hope you can stop again so we can enjoy you too. Gladys and Mary Ann
Wayne and Donna are two enterprising business people who are willing to make space and time available for a Boondocker. They camp in a small tear drop trailer when they are not working on their cottage or maintaining their spacious rural setting property. I do not know where they get the energy, but they are certainly generous with their time. Throughout our stay they would occasionally check in and make sure we had everything we needed. We felt exceptionally safe and well taken care of. Power and water were always available. The boondocking site is 35 min. from downtown Ottawa, making it very easy to commute to wherever you are going as a tourist in the National Capital Region.
Great Hosts and a great place to stay. We are so thankful for the hospitality. We stayed for three nights the first two nights while the hosts were away. Glad that we met them on the last afternoon and enjoyed socializing in our trailer in the evening. Very convenient for visiting Ottawa, nice location.
Ok, don’t take that wrong, I mean it was great of them to offer to host us while they were away. Add to that that they already had guests coming! The place was great, easy to find and bonus: no mosquitos! Thanks so much for really extending your hospitality.
Our stay at donnatravelling was excellent. We enjoyed a quiet night of sleep before leaving in the morning. Everything was as described in their message. Thank you very much
They were very accommodating even though we gave them short notice. Very peaceful and quiet even though their driveway is right off the main road.
Lovely location in the country with an easy drive into Ottawa. The road in front is busy but the noise was hardly noticeable. It is always fun to meet a fellow boondocker who has the type of camper you have admired from afar. Chatting with our hosts was like talking to a long time neighbor over the fence at home. We hardly touched on the things to do in Ottawa so we will be back to this nice location.
Thanks for hosting the one night, it was greatly appreciated. Hope I can reciprocate on your visit here.
Thank you for letting us stay at your house for 2 nights. We would like to have seen you may be next time.
Hope you had time at the Park.
