Love the outdoors.

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We love to be on the water or in the woods, so camping on a lake or river is our favorite location. Thus we have an RV for the woods and a houseboat on Lake Oroville. Our other interests include time with grandchildren, kayaking, swimming, local theater, and travel to other countries.

spfluecke's Pets

We have a 12 year old (DOB April 2006) Bearded Collie. Everyone says she is such a sweet dog. We adopted her 8 years ago and from the beginning she has loved traveling with us in the RV. She also loves hanging out with us on the houseboat.

spfluecke's Hometown

Paradise is a small (population: 26,000) former Gold Rush town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains 90 miles north of Sacramento. Paradise is known for the discovery of the largest single gold nugget weighing in at 50 lbs, Joy Lyn's Chocolates, and antique stores. We are close to Lake Oroville, Feather River, and Sacaramento River if you like to boat or fish. Chico, a university town, is 10 miles down the Skyway from Paradise and is home to Sierra Nevada Brewery.

Quite, sunny, peaceful

Though it may not seem like it when you first arrive, Foothills Paradise was all 3 of those. We were looking for a place to stay for a night while we visited Sierra Nevada brewery in Chico and loved our hosts so much we stayed another night!

We especially enjoyed their hospitality and gracious invite to join in a community pot luck! We meet so many wonderful people there.

If you like history and fitness trails (or just strolling) there's a converted old railroad that runs for several miles turned into a beautifully restored walk path and park just steps away from this property.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back!

Beautiful yard, beautiful people

We so enjoyed our visit in Paradise. Such a gracious couple and enjoyed looking at their yard , I felt it could be fattening. A feast of colors of azaleas, large and small bushes. Loved hearing of their hobbies and adventures.
