Pat and I have a long history having attended kindergarten together in New Smyrna Beach, FL where we grew up. We became a couple after our 40th high school class reunion in 2003. We got into rving about 10 years ago and try and get on the road several times a year. It could be a few days or a few weeks. We are pet friendly and enjoy meeting new people.
Pat likes reading and gardening and I like woodworking.
Pat has many skills and interest and loves to read. I am a handyman type and love woodworking.
One small rescue dog named Mojo.
We travel mostly in the Southern states from Florida to Texas and North to Tennessee and the Carolinas.
We both grew up in New Smyrna Beach, FL on the state's East Coast. I am a second generation Floridian and Pat has lived in Florida all but a few months. She lived for many years in Naples, FL and I in the Tampa area. We moved to Brooksville in 2009.
We have a 2015 Jayco Jayflight 24 foot travel trailer with a single slide. Pulled by a 2010 GMC Sierra.
Boondocker's has to be the most fun way to make new real friends. So glad you stopped. We will see you in FL. Our space is always available to you. Delightful, fun and easy to spend time with. Safe travels. Gladys and Mary Ann.
We are so glad to have discovered this beautiful rural area with its rolling hills, and who knew that staying at Broken Glass Pond and getting to know Pat and John would be one of the highlights of our stay in Florida. Our camping spot was in a tranquil setting complete with electric, water, sewer and a fire pit. We enjoyed visiting with our hosts on their patio and their dock overlooking the pond and appreciated their recommendation to eat at the Florida Cracker Kitchen. We plan on staying here again next year and hope that Pat and John will visit us in Michigan!
What can we say about Pat and John that hasn't already been said? These are two of the kindest people we have met on our journey, from start to finish. First of all you're immediately spoiled by having full 30 amp hookups, with water and dump. Then you're invited to social hour on the dock of the pond. We had something come up, and all they wanted to do was help, and make our stay as enjoyable as they could. You couldn't find nicer people in Florida. We came as strangers, and leave as friends. We will definitely stay in touch, and if we are ever in the area we will stop by without hesitation.
We enjoyed a very relaxing stay. Happy we added this stop to our travels. Pat, John and their new rescue Mojo were very kind hosts. We enjoyed spending time getting to know each other by their fish pond while enjoying some wine and cheese. Our camping area was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed including a fire ring. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
This is our second stay with Pat and John and you couldn’t ask for better people. We were sad so be leaving but so grateful for our time together. Please look us up if you make it to Australia otherwise we will come back in a few years !
Pat & John,
This experience at your spot in Broken Glass Pond was truly more than anyone could ask for! Your correspondence and directions were great. The park like setting with all the amenities was more than one could get in an rv park, except yours had no neighbors 15 ft away! Your little piece of heaven is #1 in my book and a asset to Boondockers Welcome. Thanks again!
Our stay with Pat and John was just right! Pat welcomed us our first evening, helping to back the trailer in. The site was very nice. It is a leveled sandy/rocky spot on a slight hill in a private area of their property. Although we had plans to travel into the Tampa area, both Pat and John made an effort to invite us to their dock for a very nice wine and cheese date. It was a really nice way to ground and even off the busy days. Throughout the evening we enjoyed great conversation and some good laughs.
They were more than generous, as they let us borrow a sewage hose because ours wasn't long enough. We had a little trouble figuring out our next destination and Pat and John offered us to stay an extra night so we could pin down travel plans.
We definitely recommend Pat and John's place not only for the physical space, but for community!
ps. They recycle and compost!!
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Pat and John welcomed us with open arms. We spent time on the dock sharing stories over cheese and wine while the kids played and fed the fish. They are such wonderful people and it was so hard to leave. We will be back so the men can get creative and We can come up with a few ideas on the dock. So happy to have some new Floridian friends !
We highly doubt any other boondocking experience will ever top this one! Pat and John treated us like royalty. Relaxing on the dock with wine and cheese and great conversation was wonderful. And Baby bunny really enjoyed feeding the catfish :) Thank you both so very much! Your friendship and generosity is greatly appreciated, we hope to be able to host you as well someday soon.
This trip was a bit spur of the moment. John and Pat responded to my request within hours and the next day I was on the road, back roads that is through beautiful Florida citrus country. This isn't exactly boondocking...lol. They have set up a fabulous site with a flat level pad, full hookups, fire pit and sitting area. On top of all that they invited me down for a glass of wine on their beautiful pavillion overlooking a stunning pond. I know we will stay connected and I hope to be back. My other hope is that I will be able to host them at my home. Thank you both for a wonderful evening.
It was our pleasure to be hosted by Pat and John and to have the honor of being their first guests. We are so happy to have met them and hope to visit again. Their property is a beautiful and serene oasis and the site itself is top notch. Pat and John were gracious, hospitable, and friendly and we were happy to have a chance to relax and converse with them and meet their son (and Ruby!). We felt like we were family and we hope to see them again soon. Thank you!
