With an innate desire to travel abroad I joined the Peace Corps and completed my two years in Zuunmod, Mongolia in June 2013. I have also spent three months in Rwanda (Africa 2015) with Peace Corps Response. Both experiences changed my life! Volunteering in state parks/wildlife refuges in Oregon and Idaho has been an ongoing experience.
My husband and I own a 24' Class C RV and we have spent 5 months in 2016-17 traveling from the furthest point south (Key West) in the U.S. to the beautiful Northwest. Now relocated in Coeur d'Alene, we offer a street parking spot which can handle up to 40'. Beside my home a smaller Class C or Class B can be parked.
This location is in downtown Coeur d Alene.
Wife is currently substituting in the schools when not meandering about the U.S.
Husband retired - transportation industry
We travel and live with our Australian Shepherd mix rescue who is approximately 7 years old!
We winter in Deming, NM and summer in Coeur d Alene, Idaho.
Class C Chateau by Thor (24') new with no slide-outs.
I hosted this wonderful couple overnight as they traveled through my area. They are delightful and I feel that my life has been enriched by meeting them. I have invited them back whenever they find themselves in Iowa. We had a lovely conversation and their dog Lexi is simply delightful! Lexi is the BEST behaved dog I've come across in years. (I'm a cat person right now, but I have had dogs in years past and I love dogs too.) When they left to go on the next leg of their journey, they left the space EXACTLY as they found it. I was impressed that the electric cord (30 amp extension) and the water hose were left coiled up in exactly the same (spiral) way they had been before the visit. I'm not picky about that, but it was a really nice thing to see just the same. I don't know what else to say other than that I'd be happy to invite them into my home or even to a family gathering (But I'd never actually subject them to that horror-LMAO.)
My dogs & I overnighted here on Sept. 6th. There was another boondocker there, & my hosts moved their car to allow my rig to be parked off the street in their driveway. Joan allowed my dogs to stretch their legs in her backyard while we visited, and was very accommodating to any needs I had. It was a nice stay, & they are only a few blocks from beautiful downtown Coeur d'Alene. I will definitely contact them again next time I am in the area. Thanks Joan!
We spent a night with JamaJoan. Were met at the curb and helped park. We had a great time visiting these folks and they were very helpful in putting out locations in their lovely city.
What a delight this well travelled, informative host is! As a bonus, she is located in a picture perfect postcard setting of C d'A. The Lake Drive is stunning and Roger's Hamburgers / Fries & Ice Cream was a nice treat for us. Thanks JJ, for your hospitality. Looking forward to crossing paths again. Love, peace and Good Winds to both of you. We stayed with JamaJoan on May 21, 2017
I recommend JamaJoan for being so courteous, as we had to delay arrival by a few days as our camper had a broken door and had to be replaced. By the time we knew we were going to arrive, Jam Joan was leaving that day for her own road trip. JamaJoan allowed us to stay on her home site, just with connections thru phone conversations. It was much appreciated. Ruth and Steve
Jamajoan is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! We stayed two days and really loved Coeur d'Alene. It is beautiful and Joan's house is well located to walking downtown and only a few blocks to a public beach. We really enjoyed our visit. Thanks again Joan for your hospitality! Hope to see you again.
Our night at Joan's place was our first Boondockers Welcome (BW) engagement. And what a great introduction to BW. Joan and Robert were so welcoming to us we felt right at home. We had some great conversation with them which is one of the reasons I think we all RV - to meet new and interesting people, and we found that here at Joan's. Joan made accommodations for us in her yard which made our set up convenient. What a great first BW experience - Thanks Joan!!
