Laura and I (Stephen) both teach computer science (yes, we do Windows) at Durham College in Oshawa Ontario. We are both introverts and love to take long quiet summers away from the big city lif of the rest of our existence. We travel with our 30 foot MH, a Forest River FR3!!, and our two cats (who always stay inside the motorhome). Last summer we camped in Nova Scotia for almost two months and stayed with some great Boondockers along the way! What a great experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet people.
Now we are looking for a way to do it again!
Now when I say we are introverts, you have to understand that we are in front of classes of 30 or so students every day. What we look for in summer are a quiet time and quiet conversation. We love to meet new people, but only in rather small groups. We read (a lot) and take pictures. My wife says I am the only person she knows that when asked "what are you thinking?" or "what's on your mind" and answers "nothing" is telling the truth!
For myself, being modest, good to expert on computers (networks, wireless, security) woodworking and out of the box solutions. For my wife, good to expert on computers (networks, wireless, security)and COOKING!
Two small older cats, Caitlyn and Buffy :) They stay in the MH and are not interested in going out, but they love to watch the squirrels!
New to this but haven't met a place that we were unhappy with yet!
Oshawa, Ontario. I'm going to start asking around, so I can add to this later!
Forest River FR3 30DS Motorhome, just over 30', pulling a Jeep Cherokee for side trips and scouting. Set up for solar, we can dry camp comfortably for 3 to 5 days in a row, then tend to make sure we camp somewhere with full hookups to dump flush and refill.
Always a pleasure hosting SMFranks on their travels thru. Only had a short visit due to Covid unfortunately. Super neat and tidy as guests. Welcome anytime here.
I was lucky to have a very nice people come to stay at my empty lot. These couple are super nice and friendly. We have a very common interests. I hope they will come back to stay here again. I welcome them anytime.
SMFranks were great guests. Communication on arrival time was perfect and despite the pouring rain, they got set up in their spot with humour. They are welcome here anytime as are their 4 legged kids. 😉 Can't recommend them highly enough. Hope to see you next year on your way thru.
SMFranks's s topped by on there way back home. They are respecfull People. Welcome back.
This was a wonderful visit ...wish they could have stayed longer...I learned a lot from them on various topics and had a great chat....they are coming back next July....
We may not be related, but when SMFranks arrive, it's like family has come home to visit. Love having them stay. And they have an open invitation to come back anytime.
Laura and Steve stopped by for an overnight while on their way to Nova Scotia. Great guests and would welcome them back anytime.
SMFranks were our guests and we enjoyed sitting around our fire and chatting each evening they were here. Also shared a meal together ....totally enjoyed having them with us
SMFranks are on an enviable summer's journey and it was a pleasure to host them on their first night out. Terry and Maya
Thank's to the Franks, The site was more than quiet and has a great view. To access I would say a 30ft rig is pretty much the biggest rig that can access. For all other smaller rigs it is really a great spot.. Thank again
I greatly enjoyed Frank and Laura’s hospitality - what a lovely place! Woke up to the sound of loons. Hope to return one day.
The hosts were so kind and welcoming throughout our whole stay. They were kind and totally supportive in our want to just stay on their property and truly get some RnR. Recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a place to unwind!
The Frank's & their location combine to make this one of my favorite BOONDOCKING stays of 2019! The Frank's are completely off the grid (except WIFI which they do graciously share) as they prepare their almost wilderness but beautiful location for their eventual retirement home.
The nature is beautiful & the Frank's are very gracious hosts.
Thank you both,
What a great place! We came for the Stan Rogers Folk Festival which we were introduced to because of host's comments on their Boondocker site. What a cool event with wonderful artists. To make the trip perfect was Serenity Shores, Stephen, Laura, and the cats.
Their location is beautiful with amazing sunrises across the ocean and so peaceful. Our hosts were wonderful, treated us like family, and gave great recommendations.
They were gracious enough to let us stay a few extra days and help with some projects around their property and contribute to their dream.
Amazing stay and hosts! Thanks so much!!!!
Lovely people, lovely setting. We exchanged stories around the campfire and had the opportunity to see their future plans for their homestead. Hope to get back in 2 years to see their dreams come true.
The folks at Serenity shores are so generous to share their scenic little corner of NS and their camp fire with us and others.
Stayed for two nights. Such friendly and generous people. Had a wonderful time chatting about everything. Enjoyed being able to help with the construction on their new workshop. So happy for them finding this magical place on the Nova Scotia coast.
We had a great stay and learned abit about there part of the Island
Would definitely go back if we have the chance 😎
