Retired "Techie" US Navy Vietnam era vet who was lucky enough to retire early
and find the ideal spot in the NW Wisconsin woods. I enjoy traveling and RV
camping with my two Labs throughout the US but almost always spend the entire
Summer here in NW Wisconsin. Have lived and worked in Alaska, Washington, Oregon,
the Midwest and a few overseas locations.... still travel and work on "special"
projects once in a while. Family & friends everywhere so you never know.
PC & networking whiz, retired electronics field service tech in the graphic arts, architectural and engineering field, excellent cook and great "campfire liar".
Yes.... My two travel buddies, Danny & Lyla..... Black Labs, both.
I do a lot of boondocking and dry or dispersed camping in the National Parks, BLM and
Corps of Engineers areas. Not a stranger to the occasional WalMart lot when necessary.
RV park stays are a rarity.
Sarona, WI on Watson Lake
Recently upgraded from a full size truck camper after 15 years to a smaller 25' 2005 Thor Chateau Sport class C motorhome... love the queen size bed, full bath and solar. I don't deal with slide-outs and all their eventual problems.
We had such a nice stay! We were in the area for an event so our visit was short, but we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to spend the night. We were welcomed to this beautiful spot nestled in the woods next to a serene lake by GW and Danny, Lyla, and Rollie (the “crew”), who were very agreeable companions for our small dog. We enjoyed chatting with Gary and we were floored to have WiFi (sufficient to stream Netflix with no problems whatsoever)!!! Best boondocking EV-ER!! We hope to return next year if not sooner.
GW and Crew made us feel like family visiting a private camp - his cabin on a lake is tucked into the north Wisconsin woods, the only sounds those of nature. He offered us electric, water, sewer, and cable in spite of it - amazing! And he even helped with the hookup. Wonderful host and spot to stay.
