We are both retired. Randy was a military pilot and a Human Resource and Training professional in his working life. Lori was a Human Resources Manager.
After retirement, we spent 15 winters cruising our sailboat in Florida and The Bahamas. For the first 10 of those years a motorhome was our summer residence and means of travel between Florida and our home province of Manitoba. Several years ago we bought a house and a couple of years ago we sold our sailboat. For the immediate future we're planning to spend our winters traveling the southern US in our motorhome.
We enjoy music and art, cultural events, food and wine, walking and biking. We are animal lovers and a little dog crazy.
Reasonable knowledge of RV systems and carpentry.
We have a rescued wire-haired dachshund named Baileywinkle (Bailey) who has been a great traveler. He especially loves running on the beach and digging for crabs (Bahamian badger).
The boatyard in FLorida where we kept our boat was our favorite boondock location. We've also frequented Walmarts and Flying J's and have tried a few BLM sites in Arizona.
Our desire to be near water influenced our decision to buy our retirement home in Gimli, Manitoba, a fishing village, resort town, and home to Crown Royal on the east shore of Lake Winnipeg.
We have a Class A motorhome manufactured in Canada in 2002 by Triple E. It's a 35 foot Commander model with 2 slides. We tow a Chevy Equinox.
Excellent pleasant stay, not kidding about walking distance to everything, found out about it when my bike broke! Thanks for being so accomodating!
We stayed with Sailorsrest for three nights and found them to be great hosts and very accommodating. We needed to stay an extra night for better weather to visit the snakes in Narcisse and they had no problems and even extended their invitation. Would love to return someday. Great couple. Many thanks to them!
