We are a retired couple who live in a rural area and love to travel. We have been fortunate enough to travel to all 50 states and many foreign countries. We love to learn about and experience local customs and food. Our favorite way to travel is to get off the interstate and just explore the country roads. Our hobbies besides traveling and entertaining our grandchildren are woodworking, hunting, and atv and snowmobile riding for the male member; reading, scrapbooking, genealogy for the female member.
We have an 8 pound shitzu who often travels with us.
woods, near lakes and rivers
We live in a small town in upstate New York.

Too short of a visit, but lovely people, terrific guests - wish I had the motorhome to visit RuralNY in their spot. Highly recommend to any Host!
Although we missed a visit with Ruralny Because we extended our stay in Calgary our neighbours tell us our lot was left just the way it was with just a few foot prints thank you for the visit and maybe we will see you in Rural New York sometime
Enjoyed hosting this couple, along with there traveling friends, very knowledgeable and experience travelers , Shared many travel adventures. Both dogs were very well behaved. Welcome back any time.
We enjoyed their stay with us! Enjoyed sitting around the fire and chatting. Safe travels! You are welcome back anytime.
We were warmly greeted by ruralny and immediately felt at home. Had a lovely chat by the fire, these are people who you want to listen to. Easy to get in and out and it's a gorgeous area. Hope to come back again at some point!
Perfect spot to explore the finger lakes. Hosts were friendly, had a great place to park and even invited us to their bonfire. Would recommend.
We had a nice couple of nights here. They were very accommodating. It's easy to get in and out. Great location close to Ithaca. We recommend staying here if you are in the area.
This was our first experiences with Boondockers welcome and it was great! We parked the RV on a nearly level gravel pad overlooking a small pond and slept to the sounds of croaking frogs. Very peaceful except for the occasional loud truck on the roadway. We were offered 15amp electric and water, but declined as we didn’t need it. Hosts invited us to their firepit and we sat with them for a couple hours talking. Extremely nice folks and we enjoyed the stories of their world travels and life experiences. Thanks for a great experience!
Nice level spot by a pond. We really enjoyed our friendly, interesting, industrious hosts, including a campfire on their new patio. Close to Ithaca and beautiful gorge hikes.
The hosts are very friendly and it's a very nice place to stay
The setting was bucolic - peaceful, quiet, not to mention level and soooo green to these Californians! Thank you!
Hosts were very personable, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful. We felt comfortable talking with them and asking them questions. When we mentioned wineries, they gave us maps of the two wine trails. Large, beautiful lot with green grass and trees surrounding the lot.
Host met me and got me hooked up to elec and gave me wifi password. Showed me where water was if needed. Parked next to pond and slept great.
This is a hidden jam, so beautiful and quiet place.
Had a great time!
Hosted us even that they were away.
Had the pleasure of meeting a family member with great stories.
Loved it.
Thank you so much.
What a true pleasure... our hosts greeted us and spent some time with us including inviting us into their home for great conversation. We felt like welcomed family.
It was our first boondockers welcome experience and it was a perfect stay. The rural NY location is beautiful and very calm. The hosts we're very friendly and made us feel at home immediatly. Highly recommanded!
We so enjoyed our two night stay at Quiet Country. Our hosts happily met all our needs to make our stay comfortable. We also had the pleasure of a lovely visit with them on our first evening and learned so much from their motor home travel experiences. We do so hope our paths cross again, perhaps by a stay with us in Nova Scotia, Whistler location.
It's a perfect base spot to explore the southern Fingerlakes area. Parking spot was level and there was plenty of space. Our hosts were very friendly.
The only thing that I could think that was not great was the noise of some of the trucks that came around the turn in front of their property. It picked up early morning. This is nothing that the hosts can be faulted about. The space was very level and electric and water was provided. Thanks for hosting me. I enjoyed our conversation.
Many features ; { crab apple trees, the old barn etc. } reminded me of my Grandmothers farm in Wyoming County.
Country location close to where we were visiting. Hosts are friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Quiet Country! We had a level spot by the pond with electric which was perfect for the time we were there. It was so nice visiting them (& their sweet dog Zoe and the host's brother Mack) and hope to see them all again one day. They are in a great location to visit several state parks, Ithaca, as well as wineries & breweries. Highly recommend Quiet Country!! ~Kim & Joe
Great place to stay, lots of room for either a back in space or a turn around spot. The hosts are travelers and enjoy sharing stories. If we are ever through this way we will stay again for longer - we only had a one day visit.
We felt right at home with ruralny. Their place is beautiful and our site was comfortable. We enjoyed the local sites.
Rural Charm, were very gracious and accommodated us at their farm property, with a plug-in and water. their interesting company was appreciated, as well as a jar of their delicious maple syrup.

I accepted a stay request several days in advance and sent the guests a message. They didn't respond. The first night of their two night stay, I sent a message telling them where to park, asking for an arrival time , as it was already after 6, and that I was going to my room for the night. They responded the next afternoon with an arrival time of before 6pm for that night, no explanation for the no show the previous night. I got home after 6 and they weren't here. I waited an hour before starting dinner, only to shortly after that receive a cancellation with no explanation or apologies. Sadly, my driveway was blocked for two nights so others couldn't use it. I understand plans change, but communication to a host is very important, as well as cancelling BEFORE your stay, not at 730 of the second night.
