Summer 2020 we had the plan to go to Alaska but Covid-19 stopped all our plans. So we had to go to there in an other year.
If possible Loes and I come end of september and will drive tru several Parks in the USA and Canada to Halifax. There we ship the RV back to Holland.
Since 2016 Johan and Loes travelled every winter for 4-5 months true Canada and USA with their own Dutch RV 24 ft. In 2016 we shipped it from Belgium to Halifax, Canada, and travelled from the eastcoast and Florida to Las Vegas. We storaged the RV there and flew back to Holland.
In october 2017 we came back till february 2018 for make an other trip at de westcoast for 4,5 months. In october 2018 we came back again for an other 4,5 month. We started in San Francisco and went also to Baya California and then up to the Atlanta-area before we fly back to Holland from that place.
In 2019 we came over again and started in Cartersville near Atlanta. By several southern states we drove up to Oregon in 4 months and left the RV there for a few months and flew back to Holland for the spring and flowerfields.
We are married and 55+, our 2 kids 27 en 25 years old, they stayed at their own place. We love to meet other people from other countries to tell more about our journey and living in Holland and to hear the stories of the hosts. Johan stopped working in June 2016 (now he have some volunteer jobs and is ambulance-driver for repat patients all over Europe to Holland) and Loes stopped working 2 years before. So we have a lot of time to do other nice things in live and like to travel.
A lot of travel experience all over the world
No but we love dogs ( and all other animals)
We started in dec 16 and have no favorites, we stayed at diverrend places and we loved them all. We met lovely and friendly people. And were are glad to have some boondockers over at our place in Holland. So when you have plans to visit The Netherlands; let us know!!
The Netherlands in the flower/tulip area (Warmond) near the sea and 15 min from Amsterdam and 30 min from The Hague. So when you even come to Holland: please let us know!
Its a Dutch small RV German made (Hymer Exsis I) and 24 ft long incl bikerack. Build in 2013 with a Ford motor.
Gerat guests who we'd be happy to host again - happy trails!
Had a lot of fun with these Dutch folks. They knew how to park without sinking into the mud. It’s all we could ask for in between the raindrops. Our smallest dog tried to leave with them but she loves anybody who rubs her belly. Seriously we were happy to host them and they are welcome back anytime!
A fun interesting couple from the Netherlands. Real travelers, I was impressed with their van and their adventures. I would be happy to host them again.
J and L are delightful guests. We shared a lot of travel information and had some good laughs. They are welcome anytime! We think BW is the best!
Johan and Loes are a warm and friendly couple who were a delight to host. We very much enjoyed sharing stories of our common interests in travel as well as comparisons and contrasts of the Dutch and American cultures in which we have lived and visited. I don't know if international travel is in the cards for us, but if we ever get within a day's drive of J & L's home in Holland we will definitely visit. Of course, you are always welcome to return - hopefully for a longer visit next time. We wish you safe travels and continued fun and adventure.
Johan and Loes were my first boondocks guests and what a wonderful experience. It was really great talking with and their travels and I always love to show wonders of the night sky. I was also happy to help Johan repair his RV's seat. Would love to host them anytime. Happy trails Johan and Lots!
So nice to meet people from other countries and find out they enjoy the US so much. Exception guests
Johan and Loes are great! Super friendly good conversation and they are welcome back anytime.
Our evening with Johan & Loes was a bright spot in our day! They are esay-going, well traveled and full of stories to share. We hope see them again, perhaps in the Netherlands!
Was raining and cold when they arrived got to visit for a little while. Took them to watch a women's college volleyball game at local university. Probably not as good as they are use to seeing . We enjoyed their company. Would host them again anytime .
Johan and Loes are welcome back anytime-- Enjoyed the visit and hopefully helped with his electrical problem

Unfortunately we were out town when this couple from the Netherlands boondocked at our place. They left a thoughtful gift from their country, waiting for us when we arrived home. We would love for them to stop again if passing through St Augustine.
We had such a nice time visiting with this couple. They are welcome to come back anytime and we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE THEM TO DO SO!
It was a pleasure to host Johan and Loes, they were easy to be around and great boondockers. They have a really nice rig and are completely independent. Would have them back again.
Johan and Loes are seasoned travelers who were willing to share helpful information about their traveling experiences... especially boondocking. Do not hesitate to accept their request to stay at your location. They are always welcome to stay again when traveling in our area. We wish our very best to this wonderful couple. Safe travels! :)
We really enjoyed visiting with them and hope they will stop here again when they are in the area.
for introducing us to Johan and Loes. Warm, sophisticated, intelligent couple from Holland. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting them. They are, without reservation, welcome back whenever they chose.
Enjoyed hosting Johan & Loes; they were interesting to chat with and exchange adventures.
They respected our property and pets and were no trouble at all.
Very nice couple from Europe enjoying their travels in our country! Welcome at our spot any time. Good people!!
We so much enjoyed our guests company and wish them well in all of their future endeavors! We had very nice conversations, shared food, drinks, laughs, and pictures of our families! We hope to see them again in the future!
Unfortunately I was not able to meet Johan and Loes because I have jury duty all week! I am so glad they got to stay for a few nights and hope that we will meet in the future. My staff said they were wonderful! Jason
We had the pleasure of hosting Johan and Loes (pronounced YoHon and her name is pronounced like Lose). They are an amazing couple from the Netherlands that are enjoying the USA in their Hymer motor-home. They do this for about 4-5 months in the fall/winter and started doing this several years ago. We had the pleasure of them joining us for dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. Very diverse knowledge base and were a pleasure to sit and visit with. We hope that our paths will cross again on their future travels!
Johan and Loes are the perfect guests. They are incredible, self sufficient and have a great appreciation for travel and culture. Our brief visit was very nice and sprinkled with the Dutch language. Hopefully, we will meet again during future travels. Happy Trails!
Don’t miss out on any opportunity you have to meet Johan & Loes! They were so much fun to talk to and get to know. They went to church with us and afterward we all had lunch together along with some of our friends, who all fell in love with them as well. One night and day was not enough- please stay longer next time!
Safe Travels,
The Marrs Family
These nice folks were just making an overnight stop. Very interesting and their European RV was also interesting. They are Wilco e anytime.
We enjoy having Johan and Loes stop by. They are a lot of fun and not afraid to interact with you and your family if you are so inclined. They will always be welcome at our place.
Nothing but compliments for these two. They were kind and quiet. Didn’t leave behind any messes. Had a good time visiting with them.
I really enjoyed hosting Johan and Loes! I loved to hear about their country and lives. They are so very kind and generous. I would enjoy having them back anytime!
We had a brief and enjoyable visit with Johan and Loes , too bad it was so short . I would have enjoyed visiting with them more .I am extending an invitation to them to come back and stay with us at any time and wish them HAPPY travels . Hal & Mary
we had a nice visit with Johan and Loes, hope they can come back one day when they have more time. We will show you around the local area. Best wishes on your travels.
These are the very kind of people who make us happy we are Boondockers. Johan and Leos were perfect guests. We enjoyed learning about their country and hearing about their trip in the US. We have new friends!
Johan and Loes are delightful... very considerate and we thoroughly enjoyed the time we had together. What great adventurers! They are from the Netherlands and are traveling in their lovely little Hymer RV. They will leave the RV in the States when they go home for the summer and will be back next Fall. Be sure to ask for a tour of their RV.
We had plans the evening they arrived. My first impression was a good one. I know it's not always easy but they arrived early enough in the day that we didn't have to worry about them being settled before leaving for the evening. On the other hand they are very self sufficient and would have been fine if we had not been around.
J&L... Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope to see you again next year when you head south again!! or possibly in Europe. :) If it is on a weekend we can go to church again. :) Tailwinds, J&M
Johan and Loes were so nice. They stayed two nights. They know how to maneuver their RV very well (an awesome dutch model--thanks for the tour), are self-sufficient and very nice. They were extremely quiet. They are well-mannered and professional in their communication. I am glad I could host you. You are welcome back anytime! My dog loved Loes so much.
Enjoyed great conversation, good story's, a fabulous Super Bowl and good food. Happy people enjoying the traveling life in the US. Would love to host you anytime, enjoy your journey.
A nice couple from Holland. We had some interesting conversations They only stayed one night but I really enjoyed talking with these guests. Can't wait to get on the road myself.
We have hosted many wonderful Boondockers and I can say without a doubt that Johan and Loes are my favorites. Great conversations and very comfortable to spend time with. Loved having them share some family time with us (soccer game). Definitely looking forward to seeing them again in the future. They are welcome here anytime!

We didn't get too much time to visit while they were visiting due to their short stay and my busy schedule at that time, but I very much enjoyed their company. I look forward to seeing them again if they ever get back to Tucson. Safe travels, my friends.
Johan and Loes were excellent guests to have as boondockers. We have been to the Netherlands three times so it very enjoyable to talk to them and share a glass of wine and soft drink. They are very good people to have and were certainly respectful of our property. We look forward to having them stay again.
It was a good time spending 2 nights with Johan and Loes. We had a lot of informative conversations and learned about Holland. Enjoyable couple, you wouldn't be disappointed in having them as a guest.
These folks visited us for 5 days due their coach being repaired. Had a great time, learned much about the Netherlands! Great sense of humor and tolerated my strangeness well! Had dinner together several times and hope they come back some time....
Lovely couple who are quite congenial and pleasant to have as Boondockers. They are very easy to talk with; we enjoyed conversation and dessert with them. They were very quiet (we hardly knew they were there!) and were respectful of our property. They are most welcome any time they wish to return.
They only stayed one night but I really enjoyed talking with these guests. We have been several of the same places and will be in the next few months. They speak very good English and I enjoyed listening to their accents. Nice people!
