Dennis is a recently-retired CPA. He was in private practice from June, 2000 to December 2017. Before entering private practice, he spent 17 years in corporate accounting in medical, manufacturing, and oil and gas companies. He grew up in northern Louisiana and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana in Monroe), in August, 1983, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. The youngest of four brothers, and a military brat, Dennis lived most of his childhood as a country boy, moving to the city only after graduating from college. He has been a nature lover his entire life and craves being in it.
Rebecca (Becky) is a native Houstonian. Born and raised in the Houston area, she left briefly for a year of college, then returned. She loves natural settings, especially rivers and rolling hills.
Dennis and Becky met when Dennis moved to Houston after college and were married several months later. Nearly thirty-four years and three children later, they are both eager to travel and enjoy the USA.
Becky returned to college and completed a degree in Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2004. After working for 15 months, she and two of her children were in an auto accident that left her permanently disabled. In spite of her disability, she loves to travel and pursue the love of nature that she and Dennis share.
As a CPA, Dennis is a tax expert and business advisor. Tying these together with travel and the traveling lifestyle can be useful in helping to minimize tax liabilities or increase refunds. Becky and Dennis are both very handy in computer skills and networking.
We have Shelties and love them like crazy. Our Shelties are also service animals, providing service to many in hospitals, nursing homes, and generally stressful situations.
We haven't had any experience with boondocking yet, so we're eager to establish some favorites.
We live in Cypress, TX, a suburb of Houston.
We have a 2012 Keystone Hideout 30' bumper pull travel trailer. It has two slide-outs. Though the calendar says it's six years old, it's actually only been camped in 4 times. The original owners used it twice, then stored it indoors for about 3 years. My brother bought it and kept it for slightly over a year, intending to resell it. Sadly, he passed away in December 2015. I inherited it from him. Becky and I have camped in it twice. We tow it with a 2013 Toyota Tundra Crew Cab truck.
Thank you for coming to visit. We enjoyed your stay and getting to meet your shelties! They are so well behaved and such a pleasure to have around. I know this was an educational run to get to know your rig and I'm glad we were able to make that possible. Everyone will enjoy hosting this friendly group. Actually, I don't think we would have even known you had dogs if we hadn't been excited to meet them. We really enjoyed meeting both of you and your shelties. Please come back to visit when you are in the area! Safe travels...
