My name is Catherine and I just recently lost my co-pilot Sitka, my Swiss shepherd. I will miss his companionship. 2019 is my first year traveling without him. Have to get use to traveling alone.
The hubby decided this on the road travel isn't for him; however, he might accompany me on a short weekend trip. I am retired teacher living in Cape Coral, Florida. I have worked with high school students in all areas of social justice and now more than ever I need to find safe places to be. Boondockers Welcome has been a wonderful resource while out on the road. Sitka and I use to head out for months at a time to escape the heat of SoFlo. I took my first solo trip the fall of 2016 to escape the oppressive heat and headed into the Blue Ridge Mountains. I drove the Eastern Seaboard and Outer Banks back to SoFlo. It was 32 days of wonder and bliss. 2017 took us to Wyoming and 2018 we were back in the eastern mountains. In 2019 my 10 year old grand daughter hit the road with me for part of the time, what an adventure we had. 2020 has been crazy, right?! I have had 2 trips get cancelled. I am attempting to head out here in October. Hopefully, all will be come to fruition.
I look forward to meeting wonderful new folks and finding community all along the road.
Retired teacher and now jeweler. I often take my wares on the road with me.
Not traveling with me.
I love travelling period! Ok, that's an exclamation mark.... I almost never travel interstate and the rural highways and bi-ways are my heartbeat. I had a travel trailer before the class B and spent 3 months in New Mexico traveling Route 66 back to Duluth, MN. We have recently transplanted ourselves to Southern Florida.
Living now in Cape Coral, Florida on the gulf side. So far we are fortunate enough to be able to park our "van" in our driveway. But unfortunately, we can't offer space as hosts. We do have a fabulous guest room and if passing through you may be able park in the field across from us and stay in our home.
2016 Class B 20' Roadtrek Zion The ZiOs mobile is pretty stealth... alll white
ZiOs mobile came back for another visit. It was great to see her again and we chatted like old friends. I hope to stay at her hosting location soon. A fun and fascinating person!
We had an enjoyable conversation with masks and 6 ft distance. Smart funny lady. Hope she comes back this way sometime!
Could not have enjoyed our guest more. Highly recommend! See my prior review for more detail.
Our fabulous guest, ZiOs Mobile, is what being a Boondockers Welcome host is all about. Kept us posted on arrival time, friendly and courteous in every way. We found we had an instant connection - inspiring us with so many beautiful travel destinations that we need to add to our list! ZiOs Mobile is welcome to share our boondockers site any time!
ZIOs mobile communicated well, arrived in the evening and left early in the morning hardly knew they were here. They are welcome any time.
Thanks,
Joel
Social distance conversation was very interesting. We received a nice homemade gift. What a treat.
Arrived at the determined time and had great communication with us beforehand. We would definitely recommend.
She found the entrance without even having to call me! Great company, pleasant, and good conversation. After she left, my little dog waited in the driveway for awhile, hoping to see this guest come back!
Very nice rig also.
We were happy to host this Boondocker guest at Candy Cane Corral. We did not have a lot of time to get acquainted as she was on a tight schedule but we look forward to return visits when this pandemic is over. We wish her Godspeed and safe travels.
ZiO texted an hour out to let us know she was coming, arrived when she said she would, hooked herself up to our complimentary electricity on her own from the extension cord we left out and left at an unbelievably early (for us) time the next day. And during these COVID-19 times, it was very nice that we actually never saw her - just her rig. She is welcome to return anytime.
Shes a wonderful guest.. Enjoyed her company with laughs and great conversions.
Please stay in touch..
Safe travels.
So honored to have such a wonderful guest return to our home. Please return soon if your travels bring you to our area again.
Our old gal thanks you for your concern regarding her health in her “Golden Canine Years”.
She’s hanging tough!!
ZIOs mobile arrived as a guest, but left as a friend. She is such an amazing woman, sharing tales of her adventures and tips for traveling as a lone person. She was gentle and loving to all of our animals and they adored her. I truly wish everyone of our guests could be like her! Travel on, dear friend!
Really enjoyed a nice time hosting ZiOs Mobile and her Grandaughter! They are welcome back anytime!
It was a short and rainy stay, but I was glad to talk for a little bit. Always welcomed back!
What a delight to have our first BoonDocker stay 2 nights with us here on the farm. We enjoyed our guest and hope she’ll return for another visit.
Looking forward to hosting more travelers as wonderful and as full of energy.
Thanks for sharing our little piece of heaven here in Alabama.
We greatly enjoyed our time with this wanderer and we would be happy to host again! Safe travels!
It was my pleasure to host this guest. I am sure you will like her if you have her for your guest.
Enjoyed her visit and would welcome her back again.
Once again we had a wonderful evening with Catherine and her wonderful dog Sitka on their way home. We look forward to having them back at any time.
What an interesting person. Sitka is a very sweet dog. Hope they have safe travels. They are welcome anytime.
We really enjoyed our visit with Catherine and her handsome Swiss Shepherd companion Sitka. Our time was short but we look forward to and welcome any future visit they may desire.
ZIOS mobile is always an appreciative guest. Leaves only footprints and a pleasure to host. We always welcome her back.

ZiOs stayed with us one night. I enjoyed visiting with her. Unfortunately she was coming down with a very bad cold and was feeling pretty lousy. We would welcome her return anytime.

We really enjoyed having this boondocker last March. I just realized now that I should leave recommendations for guests, we're still fairly new at this. It was a wonderful evening. She and Sitka are welcome back at any time.
We had some very nice conversation for a few minutes just before their departure the next morning. Linda and I had a full calendar as usual but we always try to make time to get to know our guests even if it just for a few moments. Wonderful guests. We hope to see you again one day soon; perhaps when we start boondocking in our own RV. Safe travels!
