We started with a travel trailer in 2004 just going on weekend trips every so often. We would boondock in the desert or camp at state parks. We changed to a class C in 2006, and did the same trips with our two dogs. For a few years we didn't have an RV and traveled by plane or car whenever we did travel. In 2016 we got a class A and we began to simplify our life to make time and have resources to enjoy RVing again, so we sold our house and things that wouldn't fit in our class A.
We are on a mission to find land in the southern half of the U.S. for an animal refuge / campground while we visit our friends and as many states as we can, with our two dogs Tebo & Suzy, and cat Soobie. We are in our 40s, married with no kids. We love animals and the outdoors. We enjoy different foods, more toward the healthy side due to health issues.
We are sharing our journey and keeping in touch with relatives and friends (new and old)via our YouTube Channel - search on Less Junky, More Funky to find the playlist of our past videos. We try to share our latest news about once every week or two.
Tom is very handy with cars and around the house/RV - he's good at figuring out how to fix or improve things he's never encountered before. It was a struggle for him to decide which tools to pack in the RV - he had accumulated a lot over the years.
He's passionate about football and electronics. He was the videographer for the Island Warriors semi-pro football team in LV. He has an eye for photography - right angles, lighting and arrangement.
He also is an awesome cook - juicy steak, tasty tilapia, spicy curry chicken, chunky spaghetti, yummy ramen soup, crispy Vietnamese eggrolls.
He loves to talk about almost anything to almost anyone and has a great sense of humor, so he's great at customer service, managing, negotiating, counseling.
Candice is experienced in computers - Windows applications, especially Excel spreadsheets and Word docs. Great at proofreading.
While she was a data analyst for decades she gained experience with coding in SAS and SQL and using her attention to detail to identify data quality issues, which came in handy when we bought our last pre-owned RV because she analyzed every inch of the RV practically and pointed out issues for the dealer to fix.
She is passionate about health and wellness (because her mom had high blood pressure and her husband has diabetes and kidney failure), so she practices yoga and meditation and is constantly learning what foods, products, and exercises can help improve and maintain good health. She enjoys gardening, volunteering at church, and dancing (hula, Zumba, line dancing, salsa) - she coordinated a hula ministry at Gayton Road Christian Church to brighten the day of the elderly at the local senior living centers. Now that we're traveling a lot, she gave her container garden to a friend who has the time to tend to it but still misses the satisfaction of growing her own veggies and herbs.
