My fiance Melissa and I have lived in our Class A for over a year now, and have really enjoyed the lifestyle so far. We run events around the country, and both of us work online. We are super geeky and have a love of anime, gaming, and other forms of fantasy/sci-fi media. We are both 36 years of age, although Melissa will definitely let you know she is the older one (by two months).
I am very much a DIY when it comes to the RV, for two main reasons. I like to know how something works or was done so I can fix it if we are on the road. I was also born into a family of verifiable MacGuyver's, and have built computers, cars, cranes, and robots. My career experience is in web development and programming, but I have been moving to event management lately. Melissa is a family-focused homemaker by nature, she is everyone's impromptu Mother, in a good way. She has been promoting brands and products on social media and currently manages all of our marketing for our businesses.
We have been to Totoket (Branford), Bear Creek (Lake Compounce), Nickerson, and a few others. We typically boondock at rest areas, Wal-mart, and near family.
We were born in North Haven, CT, but we have both been around the country during our adult years. We are back in CT now, but may be heading down to Florida or Texas for the next few years.
1986 30' Fleetwood Southwind, Class A. Thing drives like a van, and I have navigated plenty of tight turns. We also typically bring our 2010 Kia Forte EX with us, which Melissa normally drives on the trip, but for long drives we rent a trailer/tow dolly. No slide-outs, 30 Amp, and we have a black/gray water tanks and a 100 gallon fresh water tank. We also have solar power, so we don't always need hook-ups.
