We are a Christian family. The farm we live on has been in the family since 1880. My son lives in the original farmhouse (across the road) and runs the farm. He is also your host when I am gone. There is lots of open space, in a beautiful setting. Watch the sun rise or set or perhaps see the moon rising. You can park wherever you like: near the trees if you want shade, on the grass, if that is more to your liking, and some of that is even in the shade, or maybe you would prefer to be on the gravel. There is room for your pets to roam. We have a fire pit in our back yard that we would be willing to share (providing we have had rain). There is a house next door, but not too close and also houses across the road, but it is all our property. Have done some traveling and hope to do more. Have enjoyed meeting and visiting with other RV'ers who chose to Boondock here. We are close to hiking and biking trails; lakes and rivers for boating, canoeing, kayaking or fishing. Winter activities also abound.
Groups are welcome to come and stay. I can host more than 5 RV's, but would not have electric and water hookups for everyone. You are also welcome to an extended stay if you'd like to visit the attractions in our area.
If your "pets" are horses they too are welcome at our place.
As this is a working farm that has a large shop where we fix all our equipment we can usually be of some help in the area of mechanics. Maybe some one could teach me more computer skills.
We have a cat that is usually outside but it is used to dogs being around.
At our friends and relatives! Hoping to get to stay at other Boondockers Welcome hosts in the near future, especially some whom have stayed here.
Elk Mound, WI
Very nice friendly people. They were busy in town for most of the stay, but we enjoyed visiting with them for a few minutes each evening. We compared notes on hosting and how everyone leaves with something positive. We will welcome them back!
Had a great one night stay here. Host was very friendly. Property was very nice.
Loved our first boondocker stay at this beautiful farm location. Host was very friendly and thoughtful. Enjoyed ice cream and fresh blueberries on the porch and had some great conversations. Would definitely stay again!
We were welcomed with a smile, a warm fro
nt porch and a gorgeous sunset!! We enjoyed chatting with our hostess. Easy to go find, hookups were wonderful, easy turn around. Would definitely recommend here and will stay again when I travel through this area!!
Eileen was wonderful and accommodating! She has endless stories to share! It was also great to meet other fellow boon dockers as well! Would definitely visit Country Space again!
We had a wonderful stay with our host at country space. She was super accommodating offering us a variety of spots to choose from to place the rig.
We had desert on the porch the first night, and dinner off the grill with each of us (the host and another traveler) sharing in the meal. The conversation went past dusk and am so grateful to have heard the stories, the history, and shared adventures and just got to know each other.
The farm is beautiful, the trees provided great shade so that we didn't hook up to her offered power, the weather was wonderful.
Very grateful to have made a new friend!
We enjoyed our chats with our wonderfully sweet host. Such a peaceful and beautiful farm and area. When back in the area we will stay again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our host was terrific. She was watching for us to arrive, and pointed out several choices of places to park. Our chosen spot alongside the corn was very quiet for a wonderful night's sleep.
She also gave is info on the local area, and hosted us on her front patio both evenings, along with another guest family. We loved getting to know them all.
Safe travels to our new friends, and blessings on this host and her lovely Country Space oasis for travelers.
Beautiful Wisconsin farmland. Would’ve loved to have spent more time. Host was incredibly gracious and very informative. We learned all about the Native American tribes in the area and got pointed to a cheese factory with about 20 different varieties of cheese including a taco flavored one!
Our host was watching out for us when we arrived and guided us to a perfect parking space with electric and water. We had an extra bonus because she had a wedding going on out in her big front lawn. In addition to Boondockers welcome she has an Airbnb, a large one, that accommodated a lot of the wedding party. We sat on our hostesses front porch and watched the festivities while tasting the cheese curds she shared. She also took us blueberry picking and told us about the family farm. Corn was all around us. In fact corn was the back drop for the wedding.
We spend a great time there. Eileen is an amazing host, she was very friendly and kind, we really enjoy chatting with her, she share with us some typical food, let us have blueberries from the garden and even gave us a tour around the farm and town.
Definitely a great place to stay.
Host was very accommodating with our evening check in. Host came to visit once pulling in and directed us to several parking spots. Very friendly and nice property. Host said goodbye on our way out too.
Great open location on a farm in rural Elk Mound. Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our time (evenings) at the farm. The host is very welcoming, and it is quiet at night. Spent time each evening visiting on the porch with the host and other guests. We will definitely stay again when in the area.
The host at this location is "the bomb." She is so warm, welcoming and such an "energizer bunny." We sat on her front porch in the early evening where she had her oldest son (who manages their large corn/soybean farm) stop over to meet us. The conversation was educational and enjoyable. Beautiful setting and we will definitely have this on our return radar. THANK YOU, COUNTRY SPACE.
I started out having kind of a lousy day, the sort of day we all have now and then. I really didn’t want to go to a cookie-cutter RV park so I looked up Country Space, sent them a message and heard back very quickly. Upon my arrival at the big beautiful farm, it was immediately clear that my day had improved! The host and her young farmhand helper began rolling out the red carpet for me as if I was an arriving family member. I parked my rig in the shade near the big garage and plugged into 30 amp. It was about 94° that day and it sure was nice to be able to run the air in my rig. After I got settled in, the host and the kid offered to give me a tour of the area so we all loaded up in the SUV and off we went. We went up to Elk Mound where we climbed the tower and saw amazing 360° views of the valley. Then we went to the church cemetery and watered the flowers at the gravesite of beloved family members. We dropped the kid off at his home and when we got back to the house, the host showed me the rest of the farm including a giant barn full of massive John Deere equipment. Then we sat and chatted until dark. She invited me to stay a bit longer and I certainly would have if the weather not been so swelteringly hot. I made the decision to head north to Minnesota the following morning where it was much cooler.
This was my very first experience with Boondockers welcome. The bar has been set very high after staying at Country Space. I got two new friends and a very cool well-worn John Deere baseball cap from the kid. I cannot wait to come back here. Thank you so much.
Host greeted us and directed parking even though we arrived super late. Really nice people with an ideal wide open space. Even with shade trees! Would like to stay again when we can chat more.
Great host and site. Scenic and level and even had electric hookups! Shared lots of information with me and I learned a great deal about Wisconsin (first time I’ve visited the state). Will definitely be back!
A big thank you to Eileen for making us feel so welcome. We visited with her for a bit, she showed us around her beautiful farm. The RV site is next to electricity and is pretty level on hard packed gravel. She was a wonderful host!!
Country Space was a wonderful (first) boondocking experience. They have been nothing but friendly and accommodating, beautiful and peaceful property to transition my family on Day #1 of RV living. I couldn't have hoped for a better host!
What a great place to stay! Our host was right there to meet us when we arrived and talked camping the entire time. Loved it! We were welcomed into her home to share camping stories and share ideas. The facility has plenty of room and we were able to park pretty much anywhere. 30 amp service was nice to have available so we didn’t need to run our generator. Very peaceful night. I highly recommend staying with this host.
Our host was very helpful with directions to appointment in the next city.. We had very pleasant conversations and would pick the spot again if in the area. A big thank you!
Super friendly host! Met us as we arrived. Had a nice chat about RV types and floorplans. Wish we had more time to talk but we were bushed from a long travel preceded by a night shift job that we'd just completed. The farm was beautiful. Entryway was plenty large enough for an easy in & out (which was SO NICE)! Plenty of room to even do a complete u turn when we got in. E was super sweet & we enjoyed her company! We hope to return if we're in the area again so we can visit longer.
My stay at country space was lovely! I was greeted with a warm welcome and all the help and recommendations I could ask for! There was lots of room for my pup to run around and play! If I’m every traveling through the area again I’d love to stay!
Eileen, thank you so much for your hospitality. We enjoyed and appreciated the farm tour and sweet corn. The location to Hwy 29 is nearby and took us right into Eau Claire to visit family. Even our dog enjoyed freely walking around and meeting the neighbor dog.
Such beautiful country with rolling hills.
Had a very nice stay at Country Space. Easy in and out, and country quiet. The blueberry dessert and conversation were an added bonus.
We pulled in with our GD 2150RB and easily parked on the gravel next to the garage. Perfectly level. Eileen was such a wonderful host! Took us on a tour of her barns and around some of the property. It’s a 1200 acre corn and soybean farm. She took us to the cornfield and we were able to pick our own delicious sweet corn. This is the best place we have stayed! You will not be disappointed.
The Country Space folks sure have country hospitality down pat! We had a very nice stay! Sat on their porch and had a nice talk & they let us pick fresh blueberries & sweet corn! Thank you Country Space!
We stayed here in late September 2018. I have to say they were our FIRST BDW experience & unfortunately everyone is now measured by their extremely high standards and most do fall short. But these folks are absolutely amazing so to us they represent the gold metal award for hosting. We also had another family join us & they were from New Zealand. We all talked & laughed had several meals together & a great Bar-Q-ue & not only learned about them; learned lots about New Zealand. They had water & electricity & a great place to dump. They would not accept no; they would not accept payment of any kind. So we all had our picture taken together & I sent them a copy in a frame (don’t know if she ever hung it).
It was just such a pleasure being in their company & gave tours of their land & some sites & ideas of things to see. I don’t know they are absolutely the best but to us they were; whether it was it was just our first experience & we were new out on the road or they are the gold standard. But either way please try to stay here & tell Elton Jon (yes his real name) and wife hello from Tim & Sherry Johnston.
You won’t go wrong staying here I promise.
From picking blueberries and sweet corn to blueberry cobbler and ice cream it was a awesome stay!!
Even though the hosts weren't home, their son hosted us. The farm had space for multiple RVs. The farm was quiet and the perfect place to spend the night as we passed through the area. Thanks!
Eileen was gone but son was very friendly. Would recommend.
This was a SUPERB place to spend the evening! Eileen was an exceptional host and the area is beautiful and quiet! They have water and 110v - I wish I could stay there every night of my trip!
We needed a quick one night stay traveling home after the holidays. Snow everywhere. They had the entire area plowed out. So accommodating. Love the host and location. We will make this a regular stop on our way home.
Fantastic country setting. Wonderful hosts. Very friendly and accommodating. They also have a great airbnb. If coming down this way again I will make sure to Stop in here again
Wonderful place to spend a peaceful night surrounded by cornfields. Hosts weren't there but gave us permission to stay. After a quiet night their son came by to see us in the morning. lovely spot!
Such kind people to let us stay at their home. Eau Claire has great biking, and the country roads are scenic and beautiful. Thank you so much for a peaceful spot to set up shop!
We had a quiet, enjoyable stay at Country Space. We also were able to spend some time with our very personable hosts sharing our adventures with each other. We would definitely come back!
Country Space was an awesome location. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.
They even gave us a lift down to the sweet corn patch in their side-by-side and showed us how to pick good corn and told us to take as much as we wanted. The kids got to pick and shuck their own corn, which was also very tasty!
Just really nice people and a great place to stay. Very safe, quite, and out of the way.
We also day tripped into Minneapolis to check out Mall of America. (1.5 hour drive)
We had such a good time! It was so good to learn about farming corn and soy beans. Such a nice location, only a few miles to town and surrounded by corn. Hope to meet up again sometime.
I really appreciated the stay at this lovely Wisconsin farm. Such friendly people and so accommodating. Hope to make it back again one day!
These hosts have a large farm property and are very welcoming. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you.
Fantastic site with beautiful farm views. Generous and fun, super friendly hosts! P&J
Quiet country with good hearted hosts. A very restful night
Nice oasis away from the highway with an easy in and out. Hosts made us feel as family, Very generous.
Lovely, quiet place to stay in the country. Although, you can hear the corn growing at night.(LOL). Great hosts, love to share stories of their life in Wisconsin and to hear your stories. Highly recommend them.
Host were extremely friendly - even invited us to a family ballgame. We got to camp next to a cornfield and woke to the corn rustling in the breeze —it was great. They even sent us off with blueberries from their garden—couldn’t ask for much more. We have a great time visiting Eau Claire and were blown away by the tour of the Mable Tainter Center Theater in Memonoie!! Would definitely recommend this location to others. (Sorry it took so long —I though I had already sent a rec!!)
Though we were only there for the night, our hosts were more than gracious in sharing their home and freshly picked blue berries from the garden. The best part was getting a great nights sleep with country fresh air circulating through the RV and the waking to the sound of Mr. Rooster calling out to the sun rise. When plotting our next trip to this area, we will definitely stay here again and HIGHLY recommend anyone else to visit.
They were so welcoming to any part of their land they welcomed my kids and dogs hold heartedly! One of our best stays were sad to leave!
Our Country Space hosts made us feel very much at home. We were even welcomed into their home for a rhubarb dessert! They also shared lots of great information about their trip to Alaska, a trip that is at the top of our bucket list. We will definitely return if in the area, and welcome them to come stay by us anytime.
Eileen and Elton are warm and friendly down home people. This is the true Wisconsin life experience. Elton’s smile will tell you that you will be friends for life and Eileen makes you feel like you’re at an ice cream social. You will never need for anything during your stay. We look forward to our next visit.
Hosts had clearly marked the driveway with a sign and came out to greet us and point out where to park to be near water and electricity. She even offered a surge protector to guard us against any unexpected surges off the pole access. The friendly neighborhood dog trotted up the lane to say hello as well. Dark and quiet overnight; I imagine would be great for stargazing when the skies are clear.
Loved our stay here the host were so friendly and gave us a lot of information. I would recommend it. Thank you again.
Hosts were out of town attending boondockerswelcome conference. Son Tony was very accommodating. We even had two additional boondockers one night. Great location to explore the area. Highly recommend to fellow boondockers
We really appreciated the hospitality of our hosts' family members who welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a jewel of a place, quiet, safe, and very comfortable. You are surrounded by farming/agricultural countryside and have a terrific view available. We hope to return if in this part of WI again.
Owners were out of town during our visit but we did have 2 other RVers to chat with. Our kids want to return to see more of the farm.
What wonderful people these two are! We actually stayed during Spring planting time so it was very busy on the farm. With all that they still had time for conversations about Alaska adventures and cooking!!
Great experience and we would stay with them again.
Country Space was very accommodating. Plenty of room for a bigger rig if needed. We spent our days walking the farm and enjoying the festivities in near-by Eau Claire. The hosts went out of their way to inform us of special events happing in the area like the local water-ski team performing at the local park. We also had a pleasant fireside chat when the weather held up.
It was a very peaceful and serene stay. The hosts couldn't be more accommodating, and the surroundings are beautiful.
Eileen and Elton are very gracious hosts. Made a quick one-night stop. We had a grassy, level spot with good access to satellite. Although we had to unhook our tow vehicle, it was easy to maneuver in and out of the yard- lots of room. Follow directions provided by the hosts as our GPS could not locate them precisely. But it's pretty easy access off of I-94, north of Eau Claire.
What a wonderful place to stay. Very easy to find and not far from the main highway. The hosts were not home when I arrived, but there was a sign at the entry to their property that said, "Welcome Boondocker." Hosts arrived a short time later and made recommendations on where to set up my RV along with recommendations on things to see in the area. They even shared their sweet corn and cucumbers as it was in season and they had excess. Although initially booked for only one night, I ended up staying for three. This is a working farm and everybody that stopped by was very friendly, including the dogs from across the street who came over to meet my dog.
First time boondocking with the site. Very happy with our stay. Great directions with lots of room. Pleasure to stay at this location. Definitely recommend.
This was a great site out in the country. Our hosts had a beautiful property and were very accommodating. We were able to hook up to water & electricity. There was another boondocker on site as well but there was enough room to give us privacy. Our kids had plenty of room to run around and ride bikes. They allowed us to pick some sweet corn from their crop, and it was so good! We also had a nice campfire with them. It was another great stay with a BW host.
Great couple. Had nice conversations. Picked corn. Only 15 min to eau Claire which is a great town for biking or walking as well as dining.
When we arrived at Mrs.Eileen and Mr.Elton’s farm we were simply guest passing through. We did not leave there the same! We were visiting Wisconsin on a mission trip and had only inquired to stay with them for a few days. We ended up staying at the farm much much longer and as we left we felt much more like family! We learned so much during our time on the farm. We couldn’t soak in enough of the knowledge these two had about farming and life in general, and they were so wonderful sharing it with us! We were able to share life with Mrs.Eileen and Mr.Elton for several weeks. We attended church with them, we spoke about Christ with them,we ate with them, we laughed with them. Our family grew abundantly during our time with their family. They loved on our children, who became eternally fond of Mrs.Eileen and Mr.Elton, they took them to see corn crops and to pick berries, to water flowers and make deserts. We quickly became a part of their normal daily lives and we enjoyed every single minute of it. Our little ones quickly made friends with the other little ones on the farm and all of our hearts were forever molded by our experience. Mrs.Eileen and Mr.Elton quickly put us to work on the farm roofing buildings that needed some attention and we were glad to help out! We can not wait for the next chance to get back to WI and visit with them again. Mrs.Eileen and Mr.Elton will forever be a part of our lives from here on. They are a rare and incredible family and we became to love them quickly.
This was our first boondocking experience and I have a feeling the rest of our stays will have a hard time measuring up to this one.
We had such a lovely to nights staying at this location. Such friendly hosts. Really enjoyed talking to them each evening.
We had a nice stay at Eileen and Elton John's farm. Eileen gave us a tour of the farm, she also showed us how to pick sweet corn! We picked some for dinner and more to bring home, it is so delicious! She also gave us freshly picked blueberries and cucumbers! Eileen has a really neat photo album of all her guests so far, it was nice to see so many of her memories as a Boondockers Welcome host! We would definitely stop here again if we are passing through!
Had a great time on their farm. We where greeted upon our arrival and made to feel right at home. They made us feel like family and we look forward to seeing them again.
They were very accommodating to allow us to stay overnight last minute. Very peaceful location! Nice couple that made us feel very welcome.
I just don't see how an overnight spot could be any better. Gracious hosts and I even learned a lot about farming and electricity.
Best Boondocking experience ever. Country Space is the place to be. Wonderful host and very hospitable. The owners made us feel like family the moment we arrived. We intended on spending one night but it was so enjoyable we spent 3 nights as we had the time before our next reservation began. Not sure when we will be back in the area as we do travel the USA full time but if the opportunity ever arrises, we will return to visit. Can't say enough positive about our stay.
Eileen and Elton treated us like family! There were two other Boondockers there when we arrived and their farm still had plenty of room for our coach. Eileen invited all of us for dessert on the porch after dinner. We met the other Boondockers and enjoyed the best homemade rubarb dessert I have ever had! If you get the invite for Eileen's dessert, don't miss it!!! We had a great conversation about the history of the farm and what it takes to be a family farm in today's world. We also connected with the other Boondockers.
We had a repair appointment the following morning and left early. Eileen offered to let us stay if we had a problem. We would have loved to spend a few days here. If we are traveling through the area in the future, we will stop and see Eileen and Elton. It was peaceful and Eileen and Elton are friends now.
Eileen and Elton are great host. They treated us like family. This was a great stop, possibly the best stop of our 3 month trip. The family farm has real life history, a learning experience for us. We loved our visit.
Don and Nancy
This is a working farm with the nicest people you will meet. Our stay was way too short (4 days) but we will be back.
This is one of the finest couple there is. It is a wonderful place to stay. These people are the greatest they love to tell you all about their farm & the area. We were able to meet a family from New Zeland who were here traveling the US in a converted greyhound bus. It is so exciting to be able to travel & meet these wonderful host & fellow travelers.
We stayed here and were spoilt by Country Space who bought us tomatoes and beet from her garden! We are so grateful for being able to share in a fire pit night with them, on a perfect evening, with another couple who were fun also. We were given space to spend hours homeschooling and felt so welcome, even though we ran out of time to tour around the farm for a look. Thank you for your kind hearts! The Kiwi Family!
This is hands down our favorite boondocking location. Although in my opinion it's not really boondocking because she lets you hook up to her water & electricity. These are just fantastic people who are eager to show you farming @ its best. We will definitely be back to stay here again. You must come stay here. Had a great cookout with these fine folks & and another family traveling our great country from New Zealand. Just a wonderful time.
We feel so lucky to have met this couple, they are the kindest people you could ever meet. They showed us around their beautiful farm, shared vegetables from their garden and so much more. We highly recommend Country Space, you will love them!
We spent a lovely quiet night at this place. The hosts were great, too bad we didn't have more time to spend with them.
We wish we had known them 40 years ago. Gracious, fast initial response and follow up. Thank you for letting us park our HUGE camper, but especially thank you for your company.
It is truly a working farm setting. These folks are so gracious, whatever we needed, they provided. Park anywhere and enjoy the scenery. They made us feel at home.
This was our very first time using Boondookerwelcome.com, and we were delighted with it<emoji> !! Being newbies using our RV for the first time on a longer camping trip, we kept changing our arrival time. Our hosts were so understanding and when we finally arrived they gave us helpful tips while we were trying to set-up our new home on wheels. We definitely will stop by and hopefully be able to spend more time.
Great hosts. We were greeted as we arrived and pretty much told we could park anywhere. Lots of grass to park on. Water and electric were near if we wanted it. Chickens and rooster across the yard gave us a real on-the-farm feel. it was great. Thank you Country Space.
