I went on my first road trip back in 1989 with a Coleman pop up camper and have had wanderlust every since. I love the fact that the internet has now made networking and staying in touch with friends so much easier. What a great idea, Boondockers Welcome!
I just completed a three month trip across country to Arizona and eastern California (March 2017) and boondocked most of the time. I'm hooked!
I am currently self employed as a holistic health coach and educator, have my own practice in my home. My property, while in a small city, is located on a peaceful parcel of land bordering a seasonal stream. The back is easily accessed from the driveway.
I have a little dog and a yard if you'd like to let your pup(s) run a bit, she stays on the deck. There are also great dog parks in the surrounding areas.
There are great restaurants, movie theatres, live music in the area. And of course, there is the train to New York City. I will most likely request that you take a taxi to and from the trains if you want to ride in.
I am an environmentalist, and want to try to limit my own impact on the world through using less, and supporting those that are working hard to protect our natural resources. I love animals, and my yard is full of wildlife. I'm also a singer and musician, play guitar and perform with a theater company.
My skills are generally what I do professionally, but I do have others...... cooking isn't one of them!
Yes, I have a quiet little well behaved terrier mix dog, 13 lbs named Choochi
Amelia Island Florida (at Mike's from Boondockers), Sedona Arizona (in the forest), Yuma Arizona (at the Paradise Casino), a rest stop in Georgia and a few Walmart's in Texas.
Norwalk CT is a suburb of New York City, has a terrific selection of restaurants and is one of the areas where many New Yorkers flock to get away for a while. Easy driving to the beaches, lakes, walking trails, movies, theatre, live music.
I have a very small brand new Quicksilver Light trailer, will take up no room at all! It's tiny! I am using composting toilets, so no black water etc.
She was a wonderful guest, I enjoyed her company very much. Talented (plays guitar),a good conversationalist and her dog companion is very well behaved too. She now is a friend and will always be welcome to my home.
We arrived with excellent directions, but found we were too long for the space provided. Laura was very concerned for us and a problem that had occured with her yard. So, we had to find another place to stay. However, she did her very best to even have suggestions as to where we might go. Being a new boondocker, I think she is great to offer parking. Just not for our big rig. Would definitely recommend her for smaller units.
Saw a herd of deer and look forward to staying here again. Thanks to our hostess.
What a great place to stay and what a nice host! We had originally planned to be there for 2 nights, but because of a sick child had to prolonge it for 4 nights. Kundrup was very accomodating and super nice. She gave great suggestions on how best to get to NYC. We wished we could have chatted more but did not want to spread any sickness. Maybe someday we can come back!
Just got home from our first boondocking experience. Our host was perfect very understanding of our short notice needs, she greeted us and helped us decide where to place the camper. This was a great location for our early morning trek into NYC. We are hooked, can't wait for our next adventure.
She is a prime example of why I love using Boondockers welcome. She also has a passion for travel. We had a nice visit and even a jam session with our guitars and singing. Very interesting to talk to and very helpful. I will certainly call her first the next time I come through.
She's the kind of person that makes Boondocker'swelcome so great. We had a good meal prepared with another Boondocker who was staying there for the night, had some good conversation and then a jam session. She also made water and powerhookup available. If I'm back through here I'll definitely look her up again.
We stayed at Kundrup's driveway for one night and we are very thankful for letting us stop by, we were in our 32' ACE motorhome with a small toad and we fitted perfectly in the spot (but we did good at disconnecting before coming in, cannot backup or un-hook after being parked.) The place is very central in town, with a short walk to get coffee, eat, or just to get groceries.
Our host was very welcoming and we chat for a little bit about travel, exchanged recommendations for few places to stay, and our mission during this trip; we hope we can cross paths during our trip. Thanks again for having us!
When you stay with Kundrup, expect to leave knowing you've got a new life-long friend. She was more than gracious, and extremely generous to us during our stay. Her enthusiasm for traveling is contagious. She took us on a amazing local hike, that really opened our eyes to just how beautiful CT is. Our only regret was not having more time to enjoy Kundrup's company. Our paths will cross again soon. We were commuting into NYC for work, and it was painless riding the train in.
Kundrup is a wonderful host. Very friendly and helpful. Kundrup provide us all what we need.hope to see you again. French family.
