Sorry, I have to say that due to a personal situation, I am temporarily unable to host anyone at this time.
I owned and operated a small dry cleaning plant, so I am fairly mechanically inclined and able to do all kinds of machinery maintenance. I am handy with all kinds of "power" tools. We have volunteered with the Methodist "NOMADS" and with Habitat for Humanity on various building projects and I have upgraded the engine in our classic Winnebago, LeSharo tho a GM 3800 V6
Cool places in the summertime. Cool (not too cold) places in the wintertime. Other "cool" places. We are very frugal so we stay in Corp of Engineers parks, big box store lots, city parks, fairgrounds, lodges, etc. We enjoy staying with other Boondockers like us.
We have a 1985 Winnebago Le Sharo, FWD class "B". It's clean as a whistle and we have a long story to tell anyone who is interested.
This was our first chance at hosting. We really didn't know what to expect. All went well!!
Toby had a good time running around the yard and playing with Lola. It was a pleasure having you stay with us and getting a hear a bit about your Boondocker's experiences.
Dave and Linda stopped in for a night on their way home from the Northeast. We had stayed with them this spring and it was nice to be able to return the pleasure. They are just as interesting and friendly as guests as well as hosts. Wish they could have stayed longer.
I had the pleasure of hosting Dave and Linda for a couple of nights in Niagara Falls. They are a lovely couple and I enjoyed having them and their little dog. I actually wish they could have stayed longer so I could have showed them more of the out of the way attractions and sights in the area. I would certainly recommend them as very gracious guests to anyone.
Enjoy the rest of your travels Dave and Linda!!
Sparetime stayed overnight on their way from Detroit to Niagara Falls,
Lovely couple, enjoyed their visit.
It was truly a pleasure to meet this couple. They were a wealth of info on many aspects of full-timing and he is incredibly handy and creative. I hope I get a chance to meet up with them again somewhere on the road.
David and Linda have a perfect set up for hosting - it feels like you are in the countryside parked up at the back of their house and yet you have the privilege of power and water. We only meant to stay a few nights while we visited Fort Worth Rodeo but really bad weather set in at San Antonio where we were heading. Fortunately they saw the travel advisory on the news (we would have headed off into the icy sleet) and very kindly invited (and strongly advised!) us to stay longer. We were there nearly a week, probably the longest stay of anyone in BoondockersWelcome! We had a great stay - they were very hospitable and we highly recommend them. And thank them!
We stayed 3 nights with Dave and Linda in mid-March. They were so considerate and helpful. Linda even took my wife to the Urgent Care Center while Dave and I set up the trailer. Nice spot behind their house, though we would have had trouble getting out if it was really wet. Don't miss Boo Ray's restaurant just a couple of miles away. Great catfish!
Hey everyone,
Found this place here on this list.
just to let you know we had a great time staying in River Oaks, Texas, Park close to the fence so they can get their camper under the cover if they need to. The only thing I will do different next year is to bring a longer extension cord so I can run the AC if needed. Our 2010 Rockwood Roo take at least a 30 amp plug on a breaker. we had tripped the power strip a time or two then know we could not use the air and not to use the microwave while fans were on. lol This is a nice quiet place to relax for a night or a few days. Will talk with them later and set up a date to come back in either Jan or Feb to go to a rodeo at the stock show.
We really loved taking the TRE the the green line to the Fair and back. So sorry to read about Big Tex burning the last weekend of the fair.
This place is located just a few blocks from the city library, and a really nice and clean laundromat. And I loved the $$ store across from the Library.
God Bless everyone and Happy Boondocking.
