We enjoyed meeting these folks, and their little dogs, too. They are welcome back anytime.
Having Quiet Farm as a guest was a delight. They have their rig set up for just about any situation. They were very interesting to talk to and we wish we would have had more time to spend with them. If you are lucky enough to get to Host them you will agree. Hope to have them back sometime and will definitely look them up at their Host site if ever in their neck of the woods.
Really enjoyed visiting with this couple - and the doggies. They would be welcome anytime!
A very interesting couple. We had other company the night they were our guests and did not have enough time to visit with them as much as we would have liked. The visited enough to know that we hope they allow us to host them again and maybe have more time for visiting.
We tried to host these folks, but there was no way for them to turn their 70’ rig, so it didn’t work out. Spoke with them on the phone and they were very nice.
Had a great time here, nice spot, exceedingly friendly people who are kind enough to give us a tour of the area! Thanks for having us!
They are gracious hosts. Inviting us to come talk, and we had great conversations. They shared icecream and apple bread with us. Gave us a tour of the town and farms. Also let us stay a 2nd night even though another boondocker was coming that night.
Words can not describe the hospitality of these amazing people! We have RV’d for years and never experienced a stay with such awesome people. We could write a book about this 3 day stay. Can’t wait to go stay with our new friends again!!!
Our first Boondockers Welcome experience at Quiet Farm has set the bar high. The warm welcome, helping us get parked, the tall glasses of lemonade, along with the great conversation made for a delightful first evening. They also offered us electric and a water fill and refused to take anything - but good conversation - in exchange.
The next morning we were invited for more good conversation and history on the area. Before leaving we had a fascinating ATV ride around their farm and the neighborhood.
We were sent off with fresh picked apples, an agreement to stay in touch, and possibly meet up with them in the future.
We encourage other Boondockers Welcome guests who are in the area to stay at Quiet Farm and get to know this gracious couple.
We stayed at QuietFarm for a night and had an amazing time. We spent the whole night with our hosts who are really great people. They even let us drive their ATV and explore their far and local area. It will not be our last visit to QuietFarm, you can count on that.
It felt like we were leaving family behind when we left. E and R were absolutely awesome people. The kind I would pick for family if I could pick family. E and I had a lot in common which made conversation easy and fun. The things he has fabricated are incredible. My wife and R got along like old friends. My wife enjoyed their time together immensely.
We are if at all possible going to meet up with them in a few months during a trip further west to enjoy more time with them. This reference doesn't even scratch the surface of how nice these two are.
Be well my friends and we will see you soon.
We had an awesome time staying with Eldon and Reta they were so welcoming and kind. Our kids kept saying how nice they were and when we left our 12 year old said: "That was a lot of fun!".
They greeted us when we got there with ice cream and then we had great conversations on their porch! The next morning Eldon took everyone out on an ATV ride.
They had an extension cord for us to plug in and let us fill up with water before we left.
Great people, amazing hosts and an awesome time!
R & E are super accommodating. Their farm is quiet indeed & a short drive from 90. We very much enjoyed spending the evening. It’s always nice to share time with fellow travelers with a few miles under their belts.
This remarkably vigorous, kind and caring couple have lived in the same town all their lives and epitomize what it means to be firmly rooted while maintaining a humble interest in distant places and alternative points of view. DO NOT MISS the opportunity to spend some quality time with them on their patio sipping Branch Water, participating in a Community Event or ATVing - Mad Max style - with the resident Tinkerer/Mad Scientist. Live Long and Prosper my Friends!:)
If you are looking for peace and quiet in the midst of beautiful farm country, the Quiet Farm is the place to go. The hosts are above and beyond polite and welcoming, and they have lots of fun wisdom to share about RVing and life. We can't wait to go back!
I loved staying on quiet Farm I had a really good time. They were very accommodating and sweet. They have a beautiful Farm and it's very peaceful and quiet.
Reta & Eldon very hospitable. They'll take you out and show you around or let you be, so you can get work done. They're not only full of wisdom, but are also flexible, loving and kind. My daughter and I are both looking forward to seeing them again. Reta has a garden of gardens among the trees. Flowers, Birds, Toads, Frogs and Veg like you've never seen and they're willing to share these things with those around them. Eldon is an avid ATVer and is willing and ready to do show and tell, even going as far as teaching us how to operate them. I pray this couple is overly blessed. Thank you Reta & Eldon, you could've very well been our own family. Hoping we come this way again soon. :)
We were treated like royalty upon arrival to the Quiet Farm!
There was heavy rain that blocked the entrance to the property the day before and Quiet Farm made alternative accommodations available in case the water level didn't go down before we arrived. Thankfully we were able to still stay on the Quiet Farm because the water level subsided enough to drive up the driveway and there was plenty of room to turn around and get into a level spot for setting up. The owners were super super awesome! We cooked asparagus freshly picked that night from their garden. The kids all got to ride on the ATV - which was really special for them! We were able to spend time out on the patio getting to know each other under the starry night.
Thank you for the stay - We'll be back!!
We had such an amazing time during our stay at Quiet Farm! They were the kindest couple - showed us all around their town and an insight into farming. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts and can’t wait to meet up with them in Arizona to share more stories!
This couple was amazing. We were greeted upon arrival. And my wife was invited inside for a garden club party. Both nights we stayed we were invited inside and had great conversations till late.
Its amazing the information they have about the area and the history of the property.
He even took me out on his ATV and then let me take my wife out on it.
We would definitely stay again and look forward to hopefully seeing them in Arizona when out routes cross again.
I was passing through MN on my way out west and this was a great stop. The hosts are super kind and generous, offering me electric, breakfast the following morning and yummy produce from their garden! Definitely a place I'd like to stop again, and next time for longer. :)
Hosts greeted us even though we arrived later the planned, strong headwinds as we all know is not fun and slowed our progress. This stay was extremely favorable, great conversations, quiet location. Will definitely return.
Our plan was to just do a quick overnite to break up the long drive across Minnesota on our way from South Dakota to Wisconsin. As a rule we don't add a state's sticker to our U.S. map until we've had a significant experience there. Well, we had such a nice time and good rest at Quite Farm that we actually had trouble tearing ourselves away! This wholesome couple treated us to property and farm harvest tours, a witching demonstration, fresh sweet corn, and lots of great conversation. They ... and their two darling dachshunds ... are passionate about hosting fellow RVers when they're not on the road themselves, keeping a photo guestbook to help remember everyone. It was the most welcoming and memorable Boondockers Welcome experience we've had so far. We count ourselves lucky to be in their book and they unexpectedly put Minnesota on our map!
Wow! What a great couple. Very easy going and hospitable. Toured the town, got to see sweet corn picked mechanically, took several rides in a four wheeler, even got to meet the Jolly Green Giant! Ho Ho Ho!!!! Look forward to spending time with these gracious folks in the future!!! Blessed by the best!!!
Really enjoyed our first stay! We got to be one of several first timers visiting Quiet Farm. Wonderful hosts and enjoyable conversation. They also had some excellent advice on places to go and tips for our Travel Trailer. Highly recommend staying with them if you are traveling through Minnesota.
Sorry this reference is so long overdue! We had a wild 'n wooly, expensive & busy first year learning the ropes as full-timers!
Thanks Eldon, for your sweet reference of us.
We did so enjoy meeting you & Reta, as this was our very first Boondocker's Welcome stay.
Thank you for offering such a relaxing stay on your lovely farm, and the bonus of ice cream at your table. David's still talking about having Ritz crackers with his for the first time. And the extra fun of taking each of us on our very first ATV rides, was a blast! We also appreciated they took us on took us on a drive around the county and he gave us a tour of the all the machines used in processing corn, both for feed and ethanoyl.
We really enjoyed meeting them and the town of Blue Earth is adorable, what with the Jolly Green Giant and 16 differently painted Little Green Sprouts placed all over town. Highly recommended!
What’s not too like about our overnight stay at The Quiet Farm?! Gracious hosts, who gave us a tour of their town & community, furthered our education (us urban dwellers) about farm living (love that big friendly Green Giant! :) )
We left with a promise to look for each other in Yuma next winter! See you then!
We really enjoyed our night! Fantastic hosts who couldn’t be more accommodating and lovely. We all enjoyed our tours of the farm, and the visit. We wish we had time to stay longer!
The are very gracious host and super sweet. Great quiet place in the country but not far off the freeway. A much needed stop over for me and my crew. Would have loved to stay longer
Our hosts accepted our request on short notice, and turned out to be the most gracious people one can imagine. They taught us 'city kids' about farming, and asked us in for shortcake made with freshly picked strawberries.
We'd welcome them to stay at our place, any time.
What great people at Quiet Farm. We felt so very welcome the entire time we were there. Fun for our whole family and great conversations with our hosts. We hope to come back in the future. If you’re looking for true hospitality you should definitely stay here!
Lovely first Boondockers Welcome experience at Quiet Farm last fall. Very lovely and interesting couple. I've been on the go since leaving there so enjoyed this brief respite.
We wished we could have stayed longer here but we had a lot of driving ahead of us!
This lovely couple welcomed us with fresh produce from their garden and invited us in to spend a nice evening talking while our kids played. The host even took my husband on a little ride around the neighborhood in his quad.
They told us a lot about their area too and had some suggestions for what to see, too bad we had to drive off and head west!
Thank you again for the warm welcome!
Eldon and Rita welcomed us for a night in July 2018. More than just hosts, they gave us a tour of their small town, told us their families stories while eating an ice cream, spent good time with us. These people are really great and very generous. We enjoyed having fun with the Eldon's buggy! Sharing fun, stories, a beautiful meeting... We did not have the opportunity to go back to see them, but we hope to come back one day, because these people have certainly moved us. Thank you very much!
Thank you for your super friendly hospitality!! I love it when boondocking is more than a quick hello, great conversation :) If we come back through, I'll bring sweet wine next time ;)
Travelling through on our way home. They had some issues of their own to deal with but didn’t hesitate to have us stay on their property. It was a wonderful place with lovely, very interesting couple. We had a wonderful visit and would definitely stay here again!
They days flew by as Eldon and Reta entertained us in their wonderful city and home. We felt very much at ease and were only disappointed when it was time to leave.
We had a great time here. We arrived on the 4th of July, and our hosts offered to take us to town for music and fireworks. We got rained out, but it was a lot of fun anyway. Plus a nice drive around the area, lots of talk about boondocking, and a tour of the farm. Really quiet night, plus electricity! Definitely recommend stopping if you are in this area.
Peaceful location with friendly hosts who enjoy spending time with their guests. Hope we have an opportunity to spend time with them in the future.
Quiet farm = Amazing people and a beautiful setting Enjoyed hosts and extended family.
Felt like I was at home with my own family Lovely stay and if I have the opportunity I will go back. Thanks so much for a entertaining evening.
This is a perfect place to wander and explore, we were welcomed immediately on our arrival and the hospitality did not stop there.
We went for a ATV ride around the back roads and stopped by the river.
We were treated to fresh food straight from the garden and I’ll be baking for days as a result.
Thanks for opening up your world to us and the great conversations.
We will stop by again if we come back through x wonderful hosts and we are very happy to have met them.
We enjoyed our stay with Quiet Farm, wished it was more than just overnight. Would like to spend more time with these interesting and giving people! Hope to host them sometime. Oh, and yes, it IS a QUIET farm!!
We were passing through and just wanted a Quiet Farm to boondock on instead of another noisy parking lot. This place fit the bill for that and more. I had a potentially dangerous problem with my rv and was able to "help" Mr. E fix it. Truth be told, I mostly watched. The small town is beautiful and the Quiet Farm is even more so. Very friendly folks that we learned a lot from. Since they were leaving the same day as us we even got overloaded with fresh veggies. I would love to see more of MN and when I do I definitely hope to spend more time at Quiet Farm.
We had a lovely stay with Quiet Farm & their two cute dogs!
Very warm and friendly as well as geneous and great fun.
Thanks again and hope to pop by for longer next time!
We can't even express how wonderful this experience was. Our hosts welcomed us like family. We had great chats, a tour of the town, a couple of shared meals, fresh vegetables, ATV rides and E's awesome technical expertise, networking and labor in repairing a faulty motorcycle rack on the RV! Their genuine warmth and caring made this a special time! An added bonus was a nice, level, gravel parking space with electrical hookup in a beautiful setting! Thanks so much!
It had to be fate that I stayed at Quiet Farm and met these two! It was my first experience with Boondockers Welcome, and will forever hold a special place in my heart! Without getting too sappy, even with our 50+ age gap, this couple and I became fast friends. My stay at their beautiful property was amazing, they are gracious hosts and very fun! They love to chat and go on ATV rides and even gave me some fresh produce from their garden! I ended up gaining new grandparents from my stay, I feel very blessed to have met them! I couldn't recommend them more, it is a very peaceful spot.
Great couple, we really enjoyed their hospitality. It was our first experience as boondockers. We felt comfortable and found we had a lot in common.
We had such a good time at Quiet Farm. Our hosts were unbelievably gracious and accommodating, and we felt that we made two new friends in the short time we were in Blue Earth. We will hopefully return someday.
We only stayed with Quiet Farm for just one evening, but had our travel circumstances been different we would have stayed as long as we could.
We met them at the county fair while watching a polka band, and I knew this would be a great experience. Their generosity and hospitality was immense. We got to go on an ATV ride, pick some tomatoes from their garden, and get a great feel for these two wonderful folks.
We hope to see them again down the road, and wish these two wonderful people happy trails.
What a lovely couple! We stayed here for a few days in June 2017, and our hosts were absolutely wonderful. They treated us like we had been friends forever! We may have to pass through the area again, just so we can stay with them! There was plenty of room for our 40-footer, and they had electric available. They even arranged for us to do a local radio show about area visitors. We had such a nice time, we can't help but smile whenever we talk about our stay here.
"Quiet Farm"are tops! We spent a wonderful evening at their beautiful farm. They are gracious and generous hosts. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
Such a friendly hospitable couple. They made us feel right at home. Definitely a wealth of travel information. If our travels bring us back to Blue Earth. We would definitely like to share more stories with Reta & Eldon. Thanks so much for hospitality. Janelle & Scott
