We love living in Minnesota during the summer in a designated "wild and scenic river" area of the Mississippi River while being close to town. My interests include fishing, blacksmithing, black powder gun building and motorcycles. My wife and I both ride and each have our own bikes, including several sidecar rigs. We have a family dog and cat with both being somewhat spoiled. My wife enjoys gardening, traveling and history.
In the winter we live in a townhome in North Fort Myers, Florida and travel a different route back and forth between our Minnesota and Florida homes to visit different parts of the country. We have a 1998 Newmar Mountain Aire gas motorhome that we had to semi-restore, but it is supremely comfortable. We love traveling with either family frriends of relatives, like my 91 yr old mother, who will go anywhere at the drop of a hat!
Not an RV mechanic but have a well equipped workshop. Good with Windows PCs and Android tablets and smartphones. Have quite a few eBay listings and sales. Also am an intermediate watercolor painter and eager to learn from others.
We have a miniature poodle, Phoebe, which we got as a rescue dog. Can't believe anyone would abuse a dog as sweet as she is. But we have given her a good home, lots of love and of course, treats on demand! We also have a cat that likes dogs, but that is not reciprocated by our poodle, who is immensely jealous of the cat's attention to us. But we find their relationship and interplay quite amusing. However, the cat, unlike our dog, is NOT a good traveler. he would try to make her escape anywhere and at any time. So she winters with our son in southern Minnesota qhen we go to Florida.
Colorado mountains, Minnesota lake property, and Walmarts. I want to explore the desert areas of the Southwest and would like hearing of other experiences.
Brainerd is the second most popular tourist destination in Minnesota, after Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior. Known for its premier fishing lakes, the area has become a tourist mecca because of new paved and mountain bike trails, hundreds upon hundreds of holes of championship golf, and lots more. We love the area and living in a "wild and scenic river" designated area of the Mississippi river north of the city. We live on a dead end road on the east bank of the river and have a great neighborhood and friendly neighbors.
38' 1998 Newmar Mountain Aire that we refurbished by extensive mechanical work on the Chevy Workhorse engine. We also had all of the furniture reupholstered and were happy with this investment since we love the motorhome, its quality and layout. It has a single slide-out in the dining and living area which creates a huge living space. Even though it is 18 years old, it has only 64,000 miles and hopefully lots of life left in it. We sometimes pull a trailer with motorcycles or a sidecar rig on it for local transportation, or we sometimes tow a Honda Fit when we want a car or have other passengers.
