Machine and fabrication shop.
1987, 40 foot, MCI MC9 Bus Conversion in the SLOW process of owner conversion.
Great hosts and easy to maneuver big rig in and out. Kind enough to give us a tour of their bus conversion and workshop. Would stay here again. Great location to explore RV capital of the world.
Thanks for the stay, extensive tour of your machine shop and your heath like candy creation creation. Great Boondockers Welcome site.
Second time here. Fonda and Butch are wonderful hosts. Feels like family. Even enjoyed dinner with their family.
Took a tour of the RV/MH Museum in Elkhart, In, and this is a definite must see if in the area.
We will come through again in the future.
Thank you, Doug and Beth
What a wonderful stay! These two are the absolute salt-of-the-earth, fun, crazy, a joy to be around! I spent Memorial Day weekend with them and their extended family, they all will make you feel like family! They showed me around the area, picnic at the lake, and we even hit a few garage sales! Could not ask for better folks to hang out with for a few days. I highly recommend spending time at Butch and Fonda's host hang out. 😂
Here's your warning, kids,I'll be back! LOL!
Enjoyed visiting with Butch and Fonda And swapping stories. They have quite a beautiful collection of stones and rocks from around the globe and they generously shared a few with us. The RV site was right next to the road but the traffic In this one block town was quiet after midnight. Thank you for hosting us.
Butch and Fonda were very nice and accomadating
They brought us into their home and shop. We are interested in jewelry making so Fonda spent the time explaining and showing us her jewelry. Had paul try some of the cutting of wires. Explained the machines and wetted our appetites to get to Quarzite Arizona. Great place to stay.
If you are traveling through north-central Indiana, Butch and Fonda's BW site is a great location in a small town but with convenient access from US and IN highways. Their site has easy access to the parking area with plenty of room to park any kind of rig. I was here in a 40' bus conversion towing a car behind it. Best of all, they are great hosts as well as fellow travelers.
Every BoondockersWelcome stay is an experience in broadening our horizons.
Our hosts were eager to share their projects, hobbies, professional vocation and ambitious bus conversion, and we were eager to share ours. Great conversations.
Plus, they are smack in the middle of their one-block-long downtown with a small coffee shop where we had fun meeting and conversing with a few other locals. If you are only their guest for one night, don't be in a rush to leave.
Butch and Fonda (along with Gizmo, Rascal, and Daffy) were wonderful hosts. They provided us with electric and the site was very easy to get into and level. We sat outside and enjoyed their company in the late summer evening then they invited us in for a tour of the shop and all their varied interests! We were in awe of their talents, a true pleasure to meet and spend the evening with. We plan on hooking up with them in Q this January!
I can now say I have friends in Indiana. Butch and Fonda are so welcoming and such a joy to hang out with. A wealth of knowledge on many levels and mostly enjoyed talking about Boondocking experiences. Hope to meet up with them on the road or back here one day.
Lovely to stay the night in your peaceful little farm town. Thank you! Hope to meet you one day.
Butch and Fonda are great hosts. From the time we arrived at their location to the time we left we felt like we had been friends forever. We could of talked all night as we had similar interests. Enjoyed looking at Fonda's quilt project and their jewerally making. We could of stayed longer but we had an appointment at the rv factory to get warranty work done. Hope our paths will cross again. VIrginia and Bob
Fonda and Butch are very warm people. It was our first Boondockers Welcome stop, and it felt very good and welcoming.
Butch was quick to reply to my email and he and Fonda met us at their place and we chatted all about boondocking. They are right on the road with plenty of parking and also provided 30 AMP electricity. To top it off, they kindly gave us some delicious watermelon. Thanks, Butch & Fonda, for a peaceful sleep "on the road".
We matched up well with the hosts and easily could have imposed on them for several day if time allowed. Will definitely keep them in our address book and find them at a CG or BML land in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Butch and Fonda. They're perfect hosts and provided a convenient stop on our way to the RV Hall of Fame Museum in Elkhart the next morning. We had level parking with an offer of electric if we wanted it. Their town is so small that it was quiet all night and felt more like we were in the country. We woke to the songs of many birds including morning doves and a neighborhood rooster. Having grown up on a farm, I felt right at home.
Met Butch and Fonda when we arrived to stay at their place in Twelve Mile, Indiana at their machine and fabrication shop. Very nice people. Got along just fine and yes we do recommend other people to boondock at their place.
Used the search and found an overnight "haven" from Butch and Fonda in Twelve Mile, IN. They were extremely hospitable and we felt very safe on their property. Great dry, level site for our overnight in a 40 foot 5th wheel.
