Mom, Grandma, sibling, friend, kitchen designer, POD member, and lover of beautiful things and good food,”Back home again in Indiana” in 2008 with an intensely strong need to be near aging parents. Starting over fresh after 30 years in New England, having launched three children, she was ready for a new beginning. Along comes cute sailor, and after only one vomit on the lake, she conditioned herself to a life on the water with Wayne.
Country boy with decades of diligent, hard work under his belt seeks a diversion from the workplace and decides to try skydiving. Fear blurred any memory of the first dive. The second was only slightly more memorable and involved an injury. End of skydiving! The country boy comes across a sailboat and being a man who is clearly in control of his own life thinks, “this could be a better option”. It is said that sailing is 90% boredom and 10% sheer terror. He soon discovers those numbers are inaccurate because there is a whole lot more to sailing than that. Great fun, excitement, adventure, unlimited learning and powerful friendships. Add one seasick girl (plus her dogs) and life suddenly becomes very good.
This is Augustus, a 1998 Country Coach Allure 36. Not too fancy or new, but he has really good bones.
It was a pleasure to host this couple and their lovable puppy Willow. Great communication with regards to timing. Respectful & kind. We throughly enjoyed hosting them and would welcome them back anytime. They are very interesting and willing to answer all my questions about full-timing. Do yourself a favor and host them you won't regret it.
