We are a married couple and our mom. We enjoy laughter... contemplative conversations, nature walks and spending time with our grandchildren. In recent years we have become quite interested in self-sufficient living and are slowly building on what we are learning.
Michael still has a few years left to work and Pat and Lori are busy taking care of our Alzheimer's affected husband/dad most days since we brought him home from the nursing home in January. This means we will not likely do much travelling this year, although we will try hard to get in some self-care short trips around Ontario when we can get respite and Michael's time-off to coordinate.
Our home is in Goderich, Ontario, which is a town with a beautiful sand beach and a busy harbour. The local police tend to allow RV'ers to park at the beach overnight. We are happy to have guests at our home as well. The beach has an off-leash dog park area and an on-leash area in the public section as well. The boardwalk is a beautiful walk, as are the local trails.
We putter about with a lot of things. Patricia loves her garden and her chats with Jesus. Mike and Lori tinker with woodworking. This year the creative emphasis is in large, live edge wood projects. Mike is handy with general repairs to buildings and machinery and he is a good cook to boot!
We will be staying in Ontario this year ...maybe venturing into Michigan. Our travel goals this year will just be to relax and enjoy nature.
Goderich, Ontario We are a pretty beach town with plenty of nature trails and local events.
We have a 33 foot, Fleetwood Pace Arrow, 1993. No tip outs but it has plenty of space! She is in good shape, a little weathered, like we are. We love the freedom she gives us.
Last week Keith and I found a great place to stay in Goderich...Resting Place...and it was indeed restful. I walked Keith straight to the end of their street and down the steps to the beach...lovely. Our parking spot on the street was right in front of the house and overlooked a very pretty garden with interesting pieces of driftwood. They welcomed me into their home where I got to cuddle with Cuddles...what a sweetie! I had brief chats with Michael and Lori...they are very busy people...but the star of the show was Pat!! We got on like a house on fire...she is a beautiful woman and very interesting to talk to. We look forward to another visit. Thanks for the hospitality folks!! Linda and Keith the dog
We we're welcomed so friendly, and had an immediate big respect how they deal with careing for her father/husband and going to work, doing timberwork at home and then on top, host boondockers. it was great, we had such a nice time in goderich and some chats with them. thanks for the real restingplace and all the best for your family.
