I'm Larry, I retired in May 2015 after 35 years as a high school teacher and basketball coach. My wife, Joani, retired in 2014 to help care for my parents who we finally convinced to move in with us. My parents have since passed. We have nine children, the oldest is 39 and the youngest is 19 and attends Amarillo College. We have five grandchildren. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We love to travel but don't care for large crowds. Sometimes the best vacation is just traveling the less travelled highways and byways and enjoying the natural beauty that God has blessed us with.
We live in Shamrock, Texas (if you are not sure where that is just get a map of the Universe and look directly in the center). We started out with a Class A motorhome but soon realized we wanted something smaller. We now travel in our 20 foot travel trailer and love it.
We are members of Boondockers Welcome, Passport America, and Escapees.n
The picture included is of us with our youngest on her high school senior night.
We have one dog named D.O.G. who is 10 years old. He is half dalmation and half blacl lab.
We also have a 13 year old camping cat named Angel.
We love to travel the off beaten paths away from the crowds.

We have a 20 foot travel trailer. 2004 Siverado pick up.
The Larry Dean Jackson caravan was one of the quietest boondockers we have ever had, they did long daytrips and spent most of the time resting in their rig, their dog D.O.G. is extremely cool looking, and very nice. We hope to see them again.
They spent one night with us this past weekend. What a delightful guest. They were very polite and respectful and we had a great conversation. Please come back to visit with us.
Larry had emailed us the night before, apologized for the short notice but asked if they could put in for one night. They arrived when they said they would and were certainly no problem while they visited us. They were quiet and a joy to have around for the short time they were here. Hope they visit us again if they return to the area.
Larry & Joani stayed in our boon-docking space for one night. They were quiet and respectful, asking before lighting up their BBQ for dinner. We would not hesitate to let them stay again.
Larry and Joani,
How lucky I was to be one of your first hosts! Wishing you both great joy in your travels. You always have a berth in my driveway.
Best of luck,
Rena (thornyrrose)
