We have always loved to camp. We moved out to 3 Chicken Ranch from Metro Denver and are enjoying the peace and quiet. It is our 40 acre farm. 2 acres are for our private use, and yours. The other 38 are often planted in wheat every other year.
There is lots of room here for dry camping for free, but only 1 spot available for water and 30 amp electricity. We have discovered that our guests running their AC is expensive, so we are asking for $15 per night for full hook ups.
We are 45 minutes or so from Denver, the gateway to the Rockies.
He: retired electrician and a fair mechanic.
She: sews, embroiders, gardens.
Only one cat at this time.
We have a 25 foot Keystone 5th wheel trailer, pulled by a Chevy 2500 HD.
We arrived a bit early at 3 chicken ranch which was not a problem for the chicken ranchers. He greeted us in his driveway with a friendly wave and a smile and then showed us where he would like us to park. We had a view facing to the west and watched a wonderful Colorado high plains sunset and kept company with the meadowlarks, horned larks and Red-tailed hawks. It was incredibly serene and peaceful. We would recommend boondocking at 3 chicken ranch to anyone who wants peace and quiet. We look forward to another stay sometime in the future.
3 Chicken Ranch was such a d3light! Super-nice folks, beautiful spot, would stay with them anytime! Bonus: full hookups were available. Really enjoyed their delicious eggs and chicken!!!
Peaceful and isolated (at least to us city folk) overlooking hundreds of acres of open plains. Friendly, accommodating hosts. Surprised to even find a few Geocaches in immediate area! Recommend NOT using Google Maps, we were sent down roads that didn't exist etc.
3 Chicken Ranch was a great place to just relax for a couple of days. The hosts were wonderful and we had access to water, electricity and even a dump. We had a choice of where to park and we decided to stay out back by the garden. Thier dog Winston is calm and friendly. Great stay overall. Thanks!
