Although I am retired I still teach classes on desert gardening and farming, I just limit my classes to the winter and early spring to allow myself time to travel when I feel like it.
I 'glamp' in a 22-foot Airstream Interstate. My first trip was 18,000 miles around the USA and Canada, which took 5 months. Now I am doing shorter trips back to places I really enjoyed.
There are wonderful fruits and vegetables growing here in my garden and I make them available here and at the Farmer's Market.
I like to sing and have a karaoke machine. I like to play Scrabble and Yahtzee, bridge and hearts, gin rummy, etc.
I have a Yorkshire Terrier and a flock of hens for fresh eggs.
I also like to stay in the National Parks. I like to boondock anywhere there are friendly people, historical areas, craft fairs, lakes with trout. But since I travel alone I appreciate a good board game like Scrabble or a card game and conversation. I also enjoy shopping, sightseeing, fishing, reading, TV and old movies.
I live in Las Vegas, NV
I drive a 22-ft Airstream Interstate, and I sometimes have my motor scooter on a lift behind it. It is a "Class B" and does not have slide-outs. It is a tan and brown color which I refer to as the color of dirt. Some call this 'taupe.' My motor scooter is "taupe." I think it is a very pretty/classy rig, although small.
We are welcomed by Lesly and she has our first thirst.
Thanks Robert and Nelleke
We had a wonderful time with Lesley. We talked, drank, watched a very exciting hockeygame in the casino and we got a wake up call with a good coffee. She even drove us to the strip. Wonderful and interesting host.
It was a very nice expérience to meet Leslie. She is a wonderful host. We spoke about gardening and road trips. She was so nice with our kids by letting them play tennis!
We stayed two nights in front of L‘s house but still felt very safe and welcome. We spent time together in the wonderful garden in the backyard and we are thankful for meeting L who is a great and interesting person. Thus, we can definitely recommend this place since L is also looking for new connections. To go to the Strip we took the bus which took us 45 min to get there (however 1,5h back).
Tomato Lady is very sweet and generous; where else are you treated to morning coffee and offers to go out for dinner? We also enjoyed all the tid-bits of gardening information, and some fresh eggs! There was plenty of room to park our 19 foot R-pod and our towing vehicle.
We stayed a couple of nights in a safe neighbourhood with our host. Our time chatting over coffee in her lovely garden was a great way to spend time with our gracious host. Thanks!
Good friendly conversation, would highly recommend a stay here whenever in Vegas. Hope she can make it out our way we would love to host her........ - Travelers Rest
The Tomato Lady is an awesome host! Fun-loving, personable, smart, and a great fellow boondocker! We loved our stay at her place. Next time we are in Vegas we will definitely call on her again. Thank you so much!
We stayed here for 2 nights and found a great place with a beautiful garden and just a 15-Minute Uber Ride away from the strip. L was a great and welcoming host and made us feel like at home.
We spent a delightful evening with our intriguing host. She very soon made us feel like friends. We look forward to returning her hospitality when she travels our way. Address easy to find and close to "the Strip".
Thank you for our pleasant sojourn.
I stayed two nights parked in her driveway. She offered fresh eggs from her chickens for breakfast. Even allowed me to use her shower and plugged my trailer into her power. Awesome lady with interesting organic fruit and veggie beds in her yard. Nice to have a safe place while traveling along. Highly recommend.
We had such a lovely time with Tomato Lady, really enjoyed her company. She is a very busy person but she took time out to share with us. We leave with fond memories of Vegas. Please keep in touch.
We stayed 2 nights after having a tour of her garden/yard and learning about her gardening experiences. She not only allowed us to stay in her driveway but also allowed us to use her power. From her place it was easy to get down to the strip. Thank for the place to stay Leslie, hope to see you again in the future.
I stayed two nights, parked in front of her house in the very heart of Las Vegas. Getting back and forth to the strip was easy and quick. The Tomato Lady is aptly named as she is an expert on gardening and very willing to share her ideas and expertise. I purchased some tomato seeds from her that are especially for producing tomatoes in the hot desert sun. Once again, the Boondockers have made RV travel for me (a single lady) an enjoyable and safe occurrence.
Leslie is very friendly and incredibly welcoming lady, and not only allowed us to park in her driveway, but also very generously allowed us use of her power during our stay. As we are travelling with 10 m.o. baby Leslie also gave us a ride to downtown and to the Strip. THANK YOU LESLIE :*
Her spot was big enough for our 23 feet with slide rig. Access to her drive was very easy.
We were very pleased to be able to stay with Leslie during our time in the area and would not hesitate to stay there again in the future if the space is available!
We stayed with Leslie for 2 nights while we explored Vegas.
She was so accommodating and had many stories to tell - does great mimosas- and we enjoyed chatting on her back porch looking out at her amazing garden! She has the sweetest little Yorkshire terrier who we couldn’t stop cuddling! We were given a big bag of tomatoes before leaving and I can honestly say we devoured them all in the space of a few days.
Very grateful for Leslie’s hospitality!
