Hi, Marla and Ruth here. We are semi- retired from Alaska and supplement our income as we travel to different festivals and shows as Alaskans Art-n-Around. We sell our artwork of fused glass, beaded items, carved bone, tumbled rocks, jewelry, window candy and laser cut metal wind spinners.
We left Juneau, Alaska in June 2016 to travel the states and visit new locations. We spent our first winter in Arizona, and our second winter in Florida. We are full timers and plan on traveling for another 1-2 years as we still have states to explore
We love nature and the out-of-doors, exploring cultural and historical interests and meeting new people and animals.
We are fans of a variety of sports and plan to attend a game at every Major League Baseball stadium.
We love to travel internationally as well as full time in our motor home and love swapping travel stories with others.
We are seasoned travelers and gladly share our experiences and recommendations for itineraries. We hope to set up some guided caravans in the future.
We are traveling with a small table top glass kiln, beading supplies and a rock tumbler. We enjoy crafting and sharing our hobbies with others.
We rescued 2 kittens when we were in going through North Carolina. The only life they know is living in the RV and enjoy their home.
We love nature and prefer hanging outside, enjoying campfires, going for walks, fishing and picnicking. We have found casinos are a fun place to stop for the night. We love dry camping or boondocking at dispersed campsites.
Juneau, Alaska is our home town and Marla's family all still live there. We lived in Fairbanks almost 20 years and have traveled extensively throughout Alaska, Yukon Territory, British Columbia, and the West Coast.
We travel full time in our beautiful 2002 Class A 32' Winnebago Brave. We do exyend another 3 feet with our trailer hitch storage. We have 2 slides, solar panels and are self contained. We purchased this rig last year with just 18,000 miles and traveled 17,000 miles over the last 12 months.
We can't say enough great things about Marla and Ruth. We enjoyed a nice meal with them as we talked about their extensive travels. They are truly great people and we look forward to continuing to keep in touch with over the years. They have beautiful arts and crafts and we even have one of their pieces that will be traveling with us on every camping trip. They are welcome back anytime they are in the area and we certainly hope to get together with them when we are out their way in beautiful Alaska! We wish you safe travels and a fun journey along the way. Thank you for the laughs and a good time!
These two ladies showed up in the dark and got settled in a spot that wasn't my favorite spot for an RV but with 3 days of rain, it was all I had to offer. We hooked up some power since the solar panels only saw rain clouds for the past few days.
They met me with hugs and the next day, came up for a tour of the farm with lots of walking for a lady with a broken foot! They were gracious enough to share their story with me and left me with lots of recommendations about what RV I might want and ideas on how to make sure it's what I need on the road.
I hope to see you again when you migrate back this way! Loved meeting you both and I'm sure our paths will cross again. Oh, and I hope your show was prosperous!
