Former public high school teacher and MOW Southern Pacific RR Track Inspector who live off grid in the high desert in a log home built by us and our children. Enjoy travel, photography, hiking, gardening, and volunteer work.
Formerly active in the Grange, 4-H, Elks, and raising our children. Currently belong to the Lions, and active on several non-profit boards.
Some knowledge regarding living off grid comfortably and raising a large noisy family that now have children. Both of us cook, but definitely not experts. We have learned to be self sufficient to a degree. We putter in the green house.
We enjoy fishing and usually tow a 15 ft aluminum bass boat and visit frequently Simtustus Lake, Ochoco Reservor, Prineville Reservor, and Summer Lake. We also enjoy riding our ATVs in the Ochoco National Forest and the Malheur Nature Reserve.
Pre-retirement we lived for thirty years in Monmouth, Oregon. We moved to Eastern Oregon to enjoy the night skies, the quiet, clean air and the wildlife as well as a slower pace of life. The magnificent landscapes of the John Day Basin drew us to our current site. National Forests, National Monuments such as the Painted Hills keep us here.
We drive a 1995 Class A 25.5 foot motor home. No slides.
