We,(Dave and Barbara), have been mariners for most of our adult lives. The sea has been our highways and the land has been our harbours. We have lived aboard our sailboats, cruised most summers on the coast of British Columbia, worked in the marine environment and we have both experienced several offshore journeys. Time marches on, however, and even good things change, so it is time to try some new directions.
The Boondockers club appeals to us because the spirit of the idea is so unusual in these times of fear and rigid rules that have infected our humanity over the years. Inviting strangers to sleep on your property overnight is such a refreshing outlook.
We are currently planning a trip from Victoria BC to Ontario, one way in the US and one way across Canada. We do not like to have a closed agenda, so most likely we would only be asking one or two days in advance at the most, so this may not give us very many opportunities to use the service and connect with hosts, but we do hope to meet with some of you along the way.
