We have been settled down in a small town for seven years now since my husband retired from the Army. Our youngest child of four will be out of high school in two years, and we have gotten a travel trailer for some adventures on the road. Sometimes the kids travel with us. Usually we have our medium mix-breed dog along. We currently live in east central PA, but are looking to move to north east TN in a few years. Thanks to my husband's time in the Army, we have been across the U.S. and to Guam and Germany. We also have family in MD, FL, and MN plus friends all over. We would love to explore more of the United States! We also like to kayak, and have a couple that we may or may not have with us when we travel.
We haven't been boondocking yet.
Hegins is a small town in east central PA. It is part of the coal mining region. Many years ago before we moved here, its biggest draw was a pigeon shoot. Now they have a wine fest every Labor Day weekend, and a large craft fair in mid-September. It is mostly quiet. There are no stop lights throughout the Valley. People really support the children here, especially in sports and the arts. That is what convinced us to settle here after wandering the world with the Army.
Our travel trailer is a 2006 StarCraft 21 foot hybrid with two fold out canvas beds.
