Married couple for 47 blissful years. Have been camping and RVing for 3 years now. Sold our home and bought our first motor-home, a 2007 National Dolphin. In the first year we put over 20k on our coach traveling all over the U.S.. Had great times and saw wonderful sights.
Jack of all trades. Good with my hands, computer skills, proficient at barbecuing . My passions are bourbon, cigars and my wife.
We have Spencer a mix between popillon and King Charles that we rescued. He has certainly made our lives more interesting. Of course he's really in charge of the family and loves to travel with us.
We have only needed to spend a few days boondocking but our favorite spot so far was in Ohio.
I am originally from San Diego, California joined the Coast Guard travelled extensively until I met my beautiful bride. She is originally from Slovakia and we met in New York City been together ever since. After our extensive travelling and family ups and downs we have decided to buy a piece of land at Smith Mountain Lake and just hang few months on and off.

The couple communicated plans and schedules to keep me informed. The visit went as planned. They left no trace.
They were prompt, friendly, self sufficient and courteous. You really couldn't ask for better Boondockers. We'd let them stay for weeks if they wanted to. Sadly they were only passing thru for a night. Their doggie is quite if you have an concerns don't they are great pet owners.
RobBoze graciously accepted our requested stay in spite of their leaving on their own trip. We were provided with great instructions that allowed us to navigate their uphill driveway, turn around and nestle our little camper into their wonderful site that's perched above a great view out over Smith Mountain Lake. We settled in and enjoyed a wonderful sunset that's now my profile photo. RobBoze checked in on us from the road to make sure all was well and invited us to make ourselves at home. The site includes a nice fire ring and was just wonderful in every way possible.
Thanks RobBoze, we loved Pelican's Roost!
We had a very restful stay at this location and would definitely return in the future.
Great location and hosts. Choice of two nice level sites on a quiet, dead-end road. RobBoze offered us a nice fire pit at our site if we wanted to have a campfire. Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night. Enjoyed visiting with RobBoze over morning coffee. Looking forward to staying here again.
We had a very nice stay. The hosts were flexible (we barely arrived before sunset) and we had a very nice visit that night on their front porch enjoying the night sky. They were both very friendly!
We have a 30' motorhome and I agree with the hosts that this is the max length you'd want to try to have to boondock with at their property.
RobBoze and his wife were terrific hosts. The spot designated for the RV had a view of the cove and the roads are traveled by few, making for a pleasant hike. It's just minutes from public access and RobBoze offered to provide tips on the area and even show us around if we so desired. We'll be staying here again very soon.
These two, and Spencer, we’re the most welcoming people I have ever met. I instantly felt like I’d know them forever. What a great two days I enjoyed at their home. I hope to reconnect with them in the near future. It was all good!
We had a great two night stay here. It was peacefull, quiet and shaded. We were tucked in the corner of the parking pad. Thanks for your hospitality, RobBoze. We enjoyed our chats on your porch, overlooking the lake and look forward to visiting with you again. Too bad your wife was out of town when we visited. All the best to you both, enjoying the Lake Life!
A very friendly, warm and welcoming couple. Sorry i could only stay one night. Thank you both. Casey
RobBoze are wonderful hosts at Pelicans Roost. They have a nice location in the wooded hills of Virginia. I spent one overnight with them and was invited to join them on the porch where conversation was fun and wide ranging. These folks have some good stories to tell of travel and international experiences.
The directions they sent are spot on, including the caution not to lose momentum going up the driveway.Top rate. I'd happily stay with these fine folks again.
The hosts are lovely, gracious and kind. The location is super quiet and relaxing. What more could you ask for in a boondockerswelcome site! We look forward to hosting them at our place soon.
Lovely spot great view of lake cove. Welcomeing hosts. Tricky Rock drive in. Small rigs best. Worth the drive in. Thanks for good hospitality.
