Staying with Terry & Sue was a serendipity - a wonderful surprise. They call their place Shady Spot and it is that but it could also be called Generous Spot because Terry & Sue were incredibly generous to us when we stayed by them. They were friendly, kind, helpful and incredibly generous with their gift of eggs and more. We are incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to stay there and meet them.
This is the second time we have stayed at their home, just couldn’t ask for a nicer couple. Highly recommend, will stay as many times as they will have us.
A wonderful couple, I'm sorry I could only stay one night. I thought it is very cool that they have a guest book they let me review entries from past guests. Everyone loves these folks, no surprise!
If they'll have me, I'd be pleased to visit again.
It was a pleasure to meet this couple. They were very accommodating and generous. A nice quiet spot.
This is one of our favorite hosts. They opened their garden-yard to us and we slept great. They have an amazing house, surrounded by step gardens, that utilizes the hillside and earth overhead. Lots of ingenuity. But mostly, we enjoyed our visits with Terryt. We hope to cross paths again.
My daughter and I really enjoyed boondocking here at the shady spot. They’re amazing couple, making sure we were comfortable boondocking there and even gave us some fresh eggs to go! It was a great few days taking a break from driving, they made sure we were good to go back on the road. They really made me feel like I was visiting families not just boondocking, I really enjoyed our conversation, they’re going the extra miles hosting travelers . I hope to visit them again! Thank you !
They accepted us very nicely in their spot
They are vey kindly and gave us a lot of tips and advices.
A nice place to be.
We had a wonderful experience here! Our hosts were exceptionally kind and generous. The property was beautiful. We felt totally safe the entire time. We would recommend this site.
Our stay at Shady Spot was delightful. We pulled in after dark and were still greeted upon arrival. Terry immediately offered water and electric as well as farm fresh eggs in the morning. The next morning, we chatted a bit, and my wife and I took a short walk around the area and were on the road again. It was a short, but lovely stay. We recommend this stop to others. It happens to be not far drive from the highway, and was very quiet and peaceful.
A great spot away from the bustle of the highway. Arrived a bit late but got plugged in and was presented with a dozen fresh eggs!
Terry was helpful in the am when we had to unload dolly and turn around.
Thank you and hope to see you in Vermont at our Boondocker location.
Wonderful couple, highly recommend anyone traveling thru to stay with them, enjoyed talking to them on our overnight stay. Since she raises chickens, she gave us a dozen eggs and he gave us some turnips, so thoughtful, would have loved to stay longer
Thanks to our hosts for a great overnight stay on our way home to Oregon. Gracious and interesting folks who typify why it is fun and interesting to stay with BW hosts!!!
We had a very quiet stay in the beautiful area with all shops nearby. We where invited to go with them to a volleyball game and we loved it !! Thanks for the eggs and tomatoes, they taste very fresh.
Regards
Johan and Loes, the Netherlands
We were really impressed by the warm welcome we had. Our hosts are verry interested. Eggs and tomatos on top of that. Our daughter Laurelle had so much fun.
We had a wonderful experience staying overnight at the Shady Spot. These people are exceptionally hospitable. We hope to see them again some day
THis was my first Boondockers Welcome experience and they have set the bar awfully high! They we very welcoming and warm and my dog little wiener dogs made a new friend in them! I left with a warm thank you and wonderful farm fresh eggs and tomatoes! If I’m ever anywhere near again I’ll be back!!
Very kind hosts and very generous as well. We were given a dozen eggs from their chickens and offered more. We were offered, also, free access to their garden and did take some fresh dill, Romaine lettuce and three turnips. This restocked our refrigerator and made for a good dinner of Greek-style Dill Salad and turnip greens with turnip bits. So much fun to talk with and share stories. Weather was questionable, but they assured me they do not control that. Great stop!
My schedule was tight. I arrived late and left early. We did have a chance to chat a bit and they were extremely accommodating. Enjoyed meeting them ! I would recommend them to anyone passing through the area.
This was such a wonderful experience. The hosts were so welcoming and we truly enjoyed the visit. Thank you for making our first boondocking experience one that we will always treasure.
We had a great visit. Love country life. Good conversation on a number of topics. Quiet night.
Would stay again.
I arrived on a Tuesday to be greeted warmly by Terry and his wife. The weather was beautiful and Terry took me on a tour of his 2 acres of treed lot with beautiful view, market garden, chickens and flower beds of spring blooms. They looked after me, and invited me to stay longer, so I left Thursday with a dozen fresh eggs and a smile on my face. Perhaps again next year?
Terry and Sue are very friendly and kind hosts. The spot is very quiet and peaceful, situated in a save area. 100% recommended!
I had a great visit. The spot is gorgeous, it's shaded and private. I had everything I could have asked for, and enjoyed my talk with Terry.
What a lovely couple to stay with! They offered us a cute little place to park in front of their home (which I just loved, I enjoy homes built into hillsides) and even gave us a dozen farm fresh eggs! I also enjoyed their guestbook, it’s a great idea to have a little something written by each person that stays. They were great hosts, and we were sad we hadn’t planned to stay in the area longer.
After a very long day of driving, we appreciated the opportunity to stay at this quiet, easy to find spot. We also enjoyed visiting with Terry and Sue. Thank you for your hospitality and the eggs!
This was just a brief overnight stop with a quick morning departure. Our hosts were very gracious and generous, offering home-grown vegetables and eggs, and we enjoyed chatting with them. Parking was level and shady. Directions were spot-on and clear. There was good room on site to turn around easily but it was helpful to disconnect the towed vehicle before arriving, as Terry advised. Host location was convenient to the interstate but was quiet. Our stay was very comfortable.
Absolutely top notch people. We wish we could have stayed longer. Great conversation and everything we needed was provided. Hope to see them again at their place or ours.
As noted my previous guests, Terry & Susan offer a fabulous stop over! They are gracious, generous & delightful. They enjoy sharing their piece of paradise with travelers as well as some home grown vegetables!! I will stop to see them any time I pass within 100 miles!!
We requested to stay with Terry and Sue for one night as were were traveling through, and we were blown away by their hospitality.
The spot IS shady and was an easy pull in/back up for our small rig. Terry helped to guide us in and even had electric for us!
After we returned from some errands we had the chance to chat with Terry and Sue, and they were both entertaining and informative, helping with our upcoming adventures in Colorado. We even got to see their amazing garden, and got to pull some delicious potatoes and onions to take with us.
I cannot recommend and thank these hosts enough for their generosity and kindness, we hope to see them again!
We were very grateful to pull into this friendly couples driveway after a full day driving in 40 mph winds. And thank you for the electrical hook up on what was a very chilly evening.
Had a wonderful visit and dinner out with this very nice couple. Very helpful and accommodating! Even gave us a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. Would recommend a stay with them anytime.
Our hosts, Terryt, were very friendly and accommodating. We offered to buy some of their fresh eggs and they wouldn't accept any money. We so appreciated their generosity and kindness. We look forward to seeing them again either at their place, or at ours next summer. What a great experience!
These lovely folks could not have been more gracious. Everything we needed they provided and more. Beautiful quiet setting. May be difficult for a large Class A to get in and out and turn around. Come visit us in GA.
Very sincere and genuine people. Very hospitable and we were grateful to have met them on our way along Route 66.
Our second time here was as good as the first. We enjoyed a lovely visit, a peaceful night, and couldn't resist joining them the next morning at a restaurant and local hang-out to reconnect with their "gang" of friends. Everyone we met was so welcoming. We feel super fortunate to have folks like this couple as host members.
We were greated with a warm welcome! It was late in the evening so we didn't talk much, but their place was quiet and off the path. We are 25-feet long. Larger vehicles may have difficulty getting up the small driveway.
TerryT were so gracious and welcoming! We spent a lovely and peaceful evening on their property, as we made our way back home to Ontario. They were kind enough to offer us any assistance we required and we enjoyed interesting discussions about the area and their property. Their kind hospitality even extended to an invitation for breakfast with their friends at a local restaurant. We met a wonderful group of people and truly enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Weatherford, Oklahoma. Truly a pleasure!
Wonderful couple that did everything possible to make me feel at home. They were also very patient and great with my dogs. They have a nice place in a quiet country area. Lots of trees; they grow veggies (and share) and they also have chickens that lay blue eggs (really!). The cats are mostly ferral so we don't really see them.
Thank you so much for your warm welcome and for the door cabinet! Even if it opens it stays close to where it belongs :-)
You are welcome in California or Brazil!
Warm regards
Very personal down home couple. Had an excellent visit. Parking is level, very private and quiet. We were given some good travel tips and whether forecasts for the direction we were traveling. Recommended stopover for anyone traveling through the area.
You can not expect to meet nicer people or have a more hearty welcome anywhere than we got from this couple. We stayed one night on route to AZ and were even invited to join them for breakfast at Carl Jr.'s where we were greeted with equal enthusiasm by about a dozen of their friends. The location is as perfect at the hosts - a quiet setting, very handy to our route - only about a mile from the exit off I-40.
This was our first time using Boondocks. Terry and Susan where most gracious and treated us like family. We look forward to boonbocking again with them.
