Have been camping as long as I remember. Parents took us camping as kids. Started out with tents, then tent campers. I started camping out of the back of my pickup for years then graduated to a small class C. Currently have a Class A and pull a CRV on some trips.
Anywhere in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico.
2001 Winnebago Adventurer 35 ft. Have a 2004 CRV setup to tow behind.
We needed a spot for a couple days on our way to Colorado Springs. This was a perfect spot. La Junta is a quiet, peaceful town with a few interesting tourist spots that we enjoyed. We like Boondockers Welcome sites that have electric in case of very cold or hot weather. We did have 50 amps here. We could also have hooked up to water if we had needed it. Would recommend.
Another of those quaint towns along the secondary highways. Quiet at this site away from highways. Lots of room and polite host.
Richard was a wonderful host. Close to a historic site. 2 1/2 hr to sand dunes. We enjoyed staying here
This was our second time at this location. It is easy to get to off of Highway 50. Quiet place to spend the night on your journey.
The Host communicated well before the stay and was very accommodating. Enjoyed visiting and sharing RV stories. Friendly and helpful.
Great stopover in Colorado. Our host was very welcoming and generous.
Thank you for letting us stay.
Host was out to greet us when we got there. Friendly and helpful. Quiet peaceful night.
We were relieved to stop at Eggman’s place as we crossed the state line! He was accommodating and kind! His property was nice, the town was so quiet and we discovered we were close to a school where we walked our dogs and ran around the track. We only stayed for one night- glad we did and grateful we had the chance. Thank you!!!
Host was very patient with us newbies even when we missed our target arrival and had to stay in a hotel. Our new travel trailer , part of electrical went out and truck had muffler problems we had to repair. Host was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!!!
Let's just say we'd has a rough day before arriving at Eggman's - blowout on the highway, finding a tire store to replace it so we could get off our spare, leaving an adapter at our previous stop, road construction, etc... Upon arrival, "Eggman" met up with a smile, had electrical ready for us, loaned us an adapter so we could connect, and helped turn around our day and send us off on the rest of our trip with a smile.
Also, there was a Sonic and a public pool with a slide a few blocks away that were perfect entertainment for the kids. Thank you!
Eggman was friendly and helped us determine the best place to park our rig. There was plenty of room for our 35' 5th wheel and truck. We were offered 50 amp, which was wonderful. It's a nice stop for adults, but I would not recommend the yard for small children.
Enjoyed a very pleasant evening and night with Eggman, This was our first Boondockers Welcome experience, He met us in the driveway and was very accommodating, made excellent suggestions to local attractions, Bent Old Fort historic Site, which we visited this morning.
Eggman went out of his way to make my arrival easy and welcoming. It was great chatting with him about our common work and motorcycles. Would be more than happy stay with him again.
Richard is so kind to allow people to stay. La Junta is a quiet little town and this place was a nice place to be.
We really enjoyed our stay here peaceful and quiet. Very convenient just off the highway but still quiet. Would stay here again happily.
Eggman was congenial; he met us at his property. We had a nice conversation about Boondockers and the local area. It was easy to set up, use his electrical service and take on water. It was a quiet night for us. Tbanks Eggman!
Eggman was a great host, very accommodating. He allowed us to park wherever we wanted on his property for whatever worked best for us. Also, as our travel plans changed he allowed us to stay an extra day.
Thank you very much!
If you need a place in the area, the host is very helpful.
The host is a kind & generous man and the property is spacious, safe and level. Both my AT&T and Verizon worked great there. Who could ask for more?
We love this Host’s place. Very quite and provides a good nights rest. The availability of power is a plus when nights are hot. Will stay again.
Greeted by host upon arrival. Great spot. Easy in/out. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Thanks for the stay.
The host was very hospitable. Some of the parking gets a little muddy in the rain, there are however, other parking spots on the property in such an occasion. The property is very nice and the host is kind and generous. A good stop over!
Kind host helped us get parked and shared stories of travels. Great stay.
He was very patient, accommodating and friendly. I would definite stay again.
Very nice visit. 30 amp power available was nice but not used. Plenty of space to park with shade or Sun. La Junta is a good sized town with everything available and very nice people. Did a walk of about 2 hrs.
Thanks to Eggman for being a host. We enjoyed this Easter CO. Environment. Also thanks for your prompt communication.
Eggman has a really nice place. Plenty of parking options. All flat.
Had a brief convo with Eggman. He was a very nice guy.
A great place to spend a night. I would request to stay here again.
A huge thanks to Eggman for letting us stay and being so flexible with our schedule as we worked around the weather. It was quiet and peaceful with plenty of room, and easy access to everything in the area. He was a great host and ensured we were comfortable during our stay. Much appreciated!
We had a great stay and greatly appreciate eggman's generosity in opening his property to us for a few nights.
We were able to hook up to 30a electric and water, and we enjoyed exploring some of SE Colorado and also had decent hot-spot reception (it's t-mobile, so we don't ever have super high expectations, lol) so we were able to get work done as well.
Thanks so much!!
In preparation for a long time when we arrive to set up I was told us how to connect to the power we had a peaceful evening. I would recommend this place.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome and the host was fantastic! He was right there ready to help us park and even loaned us his extension cord to hook up to his electric. He was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. He had just had eye surgery and he was still so helpful and gracious and he didn’t have to be. Nice quiet neighborhood. We had a peaceful stay and we’re grateful for the rest we got. Highly recommend this place.
My stay at Eggman’s place was so nice! He let me hook up to his 30amo extension cord and use his super fast wifi! What a treat!
The site was great, since rain was expected he suggested we park in the driveway. We had contacted him since we were going to arrive a little later than expected And he was fine with that. This was our maiden “boondock”, and we were very impressed!!
Due to Covid 19, there was very little interaction, however Richard was very accommodating, respectful, and helpful.
Numerous parking options for shade and electricity, peaceful location
Perfect location for us on our travels. Easy to navigate 32’ Class A with motorcycle toad. Eggman was very helpful getting us hooked up with 30 Amp service, water and really solid WIFI. A few different parking options. All on grass/dirt yard.
You won’t find a lot of local “things to do”. There was a community pool just a few blocks away. But COVID has that on lockdown for the time being.
It was a great stop for us along our travel route. Felt pretty safe in this small town neighborhood property.
My host met me as I arrived and helped me back in to a level site and gave me everything I needed. We kept our distance with a brief conversation and assured me if anything ele was needed to let him know. My morning drive as I headed West was spectacular with the Rocky mountains in my windshield. I would highly recommend.
Eggman has many level sites, is a gracious & communicative host.
My wife and I really appreciated Richard's hospitality after a long drive from Texas. He even had 30 amp service available which we used to run our A/C. We would definitely stay here again.
Eggman was an awesome host, large flat front yard with and a nice big shady spot by the barn as well. We were so thankful to have access to water and 30amp since it was a toasty 90 degrees the two nights we stayed!
It was a heck of a travel day. We had an issue with where we supposed to stay and made a short notice request. He was very responses to our request. He also to use his 50 amp power recepticle. Great stay!!
Host had plenty of room and options for parking. This is a great location for doing some local site-seeing. Train tracks nearby but didn't notice too many trains at night. Highly recommended!
Stopped by for one night. Eggman did not mind my early arrival and even dropped by to make sure I got in alright! Plenty of room to park. I’d stay here again if I were in the area!
We spent a delightful night at Eggman. He accommodated us in every way possible - without us asking. We were in La Junta to visit Bents Fort, a National Park Service Monument. Our host drove us out to the monument to check out the parking lot since we were planning to go in the morning with our rig. We invited him to share a lite dinner with us while we all talked about our rv travels. It’s been a long time since we met a kinder gentleman. We will remember this visit.
I enjoyed my stay at eggman's location. Host is very accommodating yet unobtrusive. Easy in and out. I had delicious breakfast at the coffee shop in town, would have enjoyed a longer stay in La Junta!
We enjoyed our stay with eggman. We had 50 amp electrical service. His neighbor had alpaca, llama, and sheep grazing nearby. He mentioned two historical locations and we visited both. We visited the Koshare Indian Museum on Sunday and Bent's Old Fort on our way our of town on Monday. We recommend both if you're in the area.
Nive quiet place to rest...his sister and i had a good time talking about dogs, places, world events! Great place to rest. Will stop again. Linda..rusty
Eggman was super nice! He provided a place for us to park and hook up to electricity for the night. We woke up the next morning to a couple of our RV tires being almost flat and he helped us air them up and directed us to a good place to go to replace the valves! Would definitely recommend him and stay there again if we had the chance!
Really nice and easy spot to setup at. Really enjoyed talking with him and his dad. Hope to be able to stop here again someday.
Thanks to our host for a great stay overnight. Enjoyed visiting our host and his dad.
We arrived at Eggmans place a bit early and was warmly greeted by his father and shown our boondocking spot. It was a lovely quiet place to stay the night and very easy to find. Very nice folks and we look forward to boondocking there again in the future.
Our travel plans had us passing through Eggman's area. We were looking forward to our stay and had everything set up. Unfortunately, with the change in weather and travel plans, we did not make it there.
Eggman's communication was good and we were all set. We hope to be in the area some day to meet.
