My wife and I have been RVs since we have been married. We have graduated from the single cab truck with a shell to a Crew cab with a 12ft cab over and 4 children. We now have a Class C Omni motorhome. We have traveled over most of the country finding places to boondock for most of it.
Over the years we have spent time in the mountain fishing, backpacking, camping(in tents outside the RV), snowmobiling, riding ATV, and 4 wheeling in the Jeep. We also do what we call RVing, traveling in our truck and camper to many of our National Parks, trail systems, history sites, and other POI.
We have added a large enclosed deck on to our home to host parties. We like to find different ways to cook food. In our travels we find meals we like and try to make it then invite friends over to try it. We do a lot of BBQ, Dutch Oven, Smoking, and Grilling.
We have 2 dogs but don't travel with them.
We like to find Walmart, with 6 of us in a 12 ft camper we need to buy food nearly everyday. We have over the years found some nice city parks and off the main path places to stay.
Both my wife and I have been raised and live in Layton Utah.

Because of the Christmas Day snow the day before their arrival and the mud it created in my field, I needed to have them park in a location other than my normal guest RV parking space. It took a few extra minutes to get them parked and settled in, but they were cooperative and friendly and I would welcome them back again hopefully in better weather conditions.
Great couple! They are experienced hosts and guests and gave us a few tips! Would welcome them back anytime!
Nice family that we would welcome back. Good communication. Sorry we didn't have more time to spend with them but it was a busy day with us just returning from a trip.
This family had a rough start getting to our area. We had a major storm in recent days and the winds where blowing 30-60 mph. They were held up at the Bay Bridge Tunnel for 4 hours. I hope to spend more time with them the next time they come through this area! They are always welcome here!
They stayed a few days coming in the evening and leaving early to explore the national park near my house.
My regular spot had already been requested by another Boondocker, and they happily stayed on a flat spot along the driveway.
I would happily have this family back again.
The Waters stayed overnight in our driveway. They were polite, quiet and unobtrusive. We enjoyed meeting them and their two children and would welcome them back again, should they come this way.
We had a great time last night with Paul and family! Sitting around the fire and sharing stories on most every topic. And I think the kids were entertained by Levi. Glad to host you guys, thanks for stoping by and safe travels.
They stayed for a quick overnight, great energetic folks, with funny comedic kids. Not afraid of a sprinkler or two.
We were glad to have them, did not even notice they were there.
Very good communication & very helpful. Plenty of room for our RV & trailer (and even for our Smart car & Polaris Slingshot when we unloaded them). We really enjoyed our stay & touring around the Great Salt Lake area.
From approving us on short notice, to the whole family extending a very warm welcome, this was a wonderful stay. Very generous with their time, advice and goodies from their garden. Don’t miss this stop if you’re traveling through SLC!!
We were looking for a place to spend the night on our way south from West Yellowstone. They provided the perfect spot on the way through the Ogden-Salt Lake City area, friendly hosts who shuffled around so we'd fit easily in the spot that met our needs, and left us to rest up for the road ahead. The house was within a couple miles from the malls and big box stores if you're looking for that kind of stuff (which we weren't), and we re-stocked at a really nice market (WinCo) about 3 miles down the road. This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay, and it was just what we were looking for.
Hosts were responsive and friendly. Appreciated the help backing up. Convenient to wait in church parking lot until host arrived. Also gas and route to interstate was easy and convenient.
Host was friendly and accommodating. Stayed on the farm side versus the house. As the house was busy with other travelers. The farm had chickens, lambs, and sheep. We enjoyed our stay and got woken up by roster.
Thank you for making our first boondocking a lovely stay. You were so gracious about our late arrival. I got lost but learned several things. Enjoyed chatting with your family. Green fields and lambs bleating were wonderful to wake up to. Hope our paths cross again. Warm regards
We so appreciated Paul_and_Marshelle for finding space on their lot for us to stay for a few days. So welcoming and kind, and we loved meeting all of their family. They also had some great RV tips for us “newbies” which we greatly appreciated. Couldn’t suggest them more as a host!
Our host and her sons guided us in at their home, and even guided some traffic around us as we backed in off of their street at night. Their powerful house lights sure made it easier! Thank you for your hospitality as we passed through the area.
Thank you for another great night of sleep. Beautiful view and stars. Enjoyed visiting with our hosts.
We detoured to the northern Salt Lake area for RV repairs, and Paul and Marshelle responded quickly that we could stay with them. They made us feel very welcome while waiting for parts (luckily we could still stay in our trailer). We enjoyed visits with them (while social distancing), they are a very pleasant couple. The road into their farm property was easy to drive even in a light snow, and the field was easy to swing around in and park. There was a ground cover of dried plants (hay?) that made it navigable even in rain and light snow. They were close to a few good sightseeing/walking parks: Antelope Island State Park, Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve, and Jensen Nature Park. Also close to a Camping World with a propane fill, dump station (free to God Sam members) and free RV water fill. Nearby O-Laundry was clean and modern, and close to a Krispy Kreme. Paul and Marshelle’s Farm was a great stop, and we would certainly return if we are in the area.
Nice flat space and very quiet for sleeping. Only visited for a short time, found them to be very nice couple. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
Arriving in a cold, windy and rainy November eve, it was a pleasure to meet these warm and friendly folks. Although we were concerned about the traffic noise when we arrived, it all calmed down by 9:00 just as our host said it would.
This was our first boondockers stay and we could not be happier. The hosts were very pleasant and informative. The space provided ample room to pull through.
Paul and Marshelle offer a large, firm & dry location to park any size rig. After initial introductions, it didn't take us long to feel comfortable with our hosts and their children. Their property is conveniently located near a large number of stores for stocking up before hitting the road again.
Paul and Marshelle were very welcoming. We messaged them that we were coming in late because of a delay because of our motor home had an issue with a tire. They said they would be there when we arrived and then they lead us to our spot for the night. They were great hosts.
Great place to stop. I think half the family helped us back into our spot for the night. In the morning we got great directions to a free dump site nearby. Thanks so much for sharing your place!
The hosts were great! They greeted us when we arrived and helped get us parked. Then we had a wonderful time chatting about RV's and Jeeps. When we left in the morning they showed their beautiful new Class C. We also bought a dozen fresh eggs from them. We definitely would stop at Paul_and_Marshelle Home again!
We stayed 1 night at this host location and we really enjoyed meeting the hosts. Their son helped me greatly getting parked and spotting me. The hosts are very knowledgeable with RV's and trailers.
The location is not too far off of I-15, about 20 minutes to Antelope Island, where you can visit the Great Salt Lake, which we did.
We highly recommend boondocking at this location!
It was a tight squeeze, but was able to get a Chevy Silverado 2500 and a 30 foot camper into the spot. Nice 30 and 50 power available. Host was concerned about the metal plate that a road repair crew left in the road, but they placed a barrier to move traffic around which made for a quiet night's sleep. A much needed sleep!
Thanks to our hosts.
Paul and Marshelle were wonderful hosts. Easy to find. Large place to park. They provided 30 amp which was great.
We stayed 2 nights at Paul and Marshalle's home and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They gave us suggestions on what to see in the area and where go for RV parts. We had planned on driving back to Salt Lake City to get parts for our RV and Paul suggested State Trailer Supply which was a lot closer. Couldn't have been happier with his suggestion because State Trailer Supply had everything we needed and then some. Paul thank you again for suggesting State Trailer Supply and for being such welcoming hosts.
I was thoroughly impressed by Paul and Marshelle's wonderful home setting, and their warm, inviting welcome. I was visiting friends in the area and this location was a terrific place to serve as an RV base. I hope to visit them again, and highly recommend them as boondocking hosts.
Really enjoyed staying with Paul and Marshelle. They were fabulous hosts and I enjoyed visiting with them on their beautiful porch! Thank you so much for letting me stay.
Thanks for the quick overnight stop and electricity! Kept us warm in the hail storm :)
Wonderful hosts, we enjoyed visiting with them on their porch with a beautiful view of the mountains and fields. They were very hospitable and even offered us ice cream while we chatted. They were kind enough to allow us use of water and electric during our stay for a very reasonable price. Which during summer is especially welcome. Highly recommend!
Got there fairly early in the evening, set up and then later joined the hosts and their daughter for a nice conversation on the porch where it was much cooler. They were both very helpful and nice. Would definitely stay there again if available.
A kind, welcome & friendly family; host greeted and helped me back into gravel drive in front of shed. Offered 30AMP & hookup to water - even lent me a hose to reach. We visited about travels, his very busy family business, their farm and hosting fellow RVers. Visited with his wife and other teen+ children later and felt very welcome! Their daughter & 2 big dogs adopted my small canine companion and mine thoroughly enjoyed have a s path of shaded, (real) grass after days of rock, sand & scrub brush. Later after it cooled, we all sat & visited in their beautiful gazebo they built listening to their pond waterfall as they invited me to share their ice cream & berries desert. Especially enjoyable for this tired traveler, quickly passing through the area. Maybe we connect in the road or in Oregon (b4 I sell my house.)
They are pleasant, hard working folks with very busy lives - BW members need to read their guidelines and be respectful of their schedules- which I fully understood beforehand and respected.
We had a nice stay. It was a great spot to base from and day trip to Salt Lake City. Our hosts were friendly and helped us out with suggestions for the city and our travels beyond. We would have liked to visit more but we had a couple very full days. Thanks very much!
Very friendly people, we got in late so were not able to talk a lot. We had driven over 650 miles and just really tired. Really sorry we were not able to get to know them more. Great quiet place to stay, easy in and out. Would recommend them as a great place to stay.
We spent good time with all the family.
Our boys were happy to see and feed their animals.
Thanks for the cobbler!
This delightful family hosted us for two nights in fall of 2017. Great communicators. Very accommodating. We were warmly welcomed and treated like royal guests. Highly recommend
Nice family, and helped with travel plans. We will stay with them again.
We really appreciated Paul and his family graciously taking us in with only a few hours notice. They were very friendly and accommodating!
Convenient location (for us) as we needed to have our Class B serviced at a local Mercedes-Benz dealer, close to local heritage museum/parks, level parking, and their willingness to play our silly board game was appreciated. We highly recommend this Host when in UT.
Had a great time for one night stay, just worked out perfect. Found PaulWaters to be down to earth, intelligent hard working folks with nice kids and strong work ethic and family values.
I'm sure we made some new friends. I hope we get to boondock with them again and hope to host them at our home.
Gord and Cherie Anderson.
We stayed two nights at Paul's house. They welcomed us with a fire and marshmallow (even in the middle of the week!) and we shared the diner.
Quiet place near Antilope Island and a not so far from Salt Lake City.
They were so generous of their time, they gave good advises about things to do.
Thank you, hope to see you again!
I stayed here at the end of October 2016 and could not have had better hosts in the SLC area. They are well-traveled and great conversationalists. They gave some great advice on things to do while in the area. The whole family is super nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you!!!!
We enjoyed our stay in Water's family, very nice. Thanks again for your welcome and the information about the points of interests near your city: very useful!
This family is so so sweet! We are so very grateful they let us stay last minute. They were so nice to have a campfire for us and s'mores for the kids! Thank you Walters family!!
Great hosts and a warm, receptive family. Highly recommend staying here! They spent a lot of time with us recommending sites to see and shared their knowledge of the area, because they grew up there and know the community and its history. We'd love to visit again when we pass back through the Salt Lake area.
We stayed here for two nights. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our hosts were very friendly and accomodating, treating us as one of their family. If you are looking for a comfortable, friendly boondocking experience, we highly recommend Paul and his family.
We all enjoyed every moment we stayed here, with the amazing view and friendly pets. We are grateful to the Waters family for their kind hospitality and generosity. It was wonderful to get to know you and your children. Thank you!
Stayed here recently overnight, 7/9/16. Owner has large property in open field. Very helpful, very responsive and super friendly. Highly recommend their hospitality.
We really enjoyed our very first boondocking experience staying with this hospitable family.
We sat on their breezy deck and shared traveling tips and adventures. They have a wealth of knowledge about
the local area and traveling in general. They invited us for dessert of homemade peach cobbler
and fresh churned ice cream while we all watched the fireworks. We were delighted to be able to
buy some farm fresh eggs from their son. Wonderful first experience!
We had a good time meeting and visiting this nice family. We spent a couple hours together talking both evenings; the Salt Lake area has a lot of interesting history. Their teenaged children are well mannered and friendly, our teen kids hung out with them on the swing set and got a tour of the sheep, pigs and chickens. There are various local things to see, we found a great canyon hike nearby that they told us about.
I can say nothing but good things about this wonderful family. To start off; the contact was easy, fast and useful. The stay was very pleasant, quiet and we would recommend it to others. But the best thing of all was the contact we had with our hosts; such lovely and warm people! Both nights we enjoyed eachothers company by chatting about our family's, travelling and other subjects. Their kids are also pleasant company. We hope to meet again in the future!
