After working for over 46 years at the Miami Herald newspaper, I recently retired and bought a motorhome. My wife and I want to travel as much as possible for as long as possible. I grew up in North Florida and she is from southern Indiana, but we have lived in South Florida for many years.
I'm a pretty good handyman and can do basic mechanical repairs.
We're just starting out, but want to travel all over the US and beyond.
We have a 1995 Ford powered Four Winds class C motorhome that's 25 feet long.
Very kind guests, discreet and easy going! They let us visit their RV for our future trip and gave us a little present at the end of their stay with us -would recommend them any time! U r welcome Ron and Jane!
Wonderful guests, and we enjoyed our brief chat. Very quiet and appreciative of the small amenitiies we could offer them. They are very welcome anytime! Safe travels!
Left a gift when they left, was not required but appreciated.Nice to talk with and hear of their travels.
We had a pleasant visit with Ron and Jan.
They stayed the one night and left fairly early for more adventures in the Maritimes.
We wish them safe travels.
They can come and stay with us again any time.
Would host this couple again. Very easy people yo have around enjoyed spending time chatting with them.
This couple were perfect guests; they spent 2 nights at our site and we wouldn't have known they were there. Left our site spotless. We would love to host them again anytime.
Ron+Jan only stayed with us one night. They were quiet, respectful, and friendly. We'd definitely host them again.
Ron and Jan just stayed one night. They needed a break from the heat and a place to dump. Once we got them setup, we didn't hear a peep until they headed out the next morning. These guys are well traveled and no bother. They are welcome here anytime.
This couple was extremely courteous and self sufficient. They arrived while we were away and followed texted instructions to set up. By the time we arrived home late that evening they were buttoned down. We didn't get to meet them since they left early to attend church but we would be glad to have them back. Hopefully next time we will meet.
We would give soloron a very good recommendation as they were the perfect guests. Had a wonderful visit and they would be welcome anytime.
Short distance from the interstate. Easy access even though remote location. Quiet; great for dog walking, etc. Family attentive and great to meet.
This was my second vist here! Thank you Ron & Jan! It's so, so peaceful! Thank you for your generosity!
This property is lovely and quiet. It was quite a challenge go us to get in the gate with our 26 foot trailer, but we took it slow. Or clip on mirror was knocked off the truck by the bushes on the side, but Karen's grandson very kindly went and retrieved it for us. The turn around was also very tight because of the turning radius of the truck and trailer and a large pile of dead wood on the inner edge of the turn. But some trimming of the sticks and twigs and me holding the bigger pieces of wood we managed to scrape past and went and settled into the site. Unfortunately we did not end up spending the night as the weather report was predicting rain and storms, so we opted to leave instead of traveling on the wet gravel road in the morning (We had just had the rig washed). But quite a nice overnight spot with easy access from I 75.
Thanks to 20 Acre Wood for a nice place to land each day. Since I usually dry camp the 30 amp hookup was a welcome treat!
Would stay again if in the area!!!
We stayed recently for 3 nights and were welcomed by lovely Karen and her daughter in law on arrival. The spot was flat, dark and leafy. There was a small hum of road noise and we had to watch a few branches on the driveway in but overall ideal spot to explore local springs. Thanks!
So much gratitude for my sweet stay at 20 acre wood! Cozy, private and just what I needed!
And the drive through those drapping trees on my way there was breathtaking!
This lovely spot in the woods was quiet and peaceful - just my style! I didn't meet Ron and Jan but a relative greeted me warmly upon arrival and answered all my questions. A sweet spot for a smaller rig.
Thanks to Ron & Jan for allowing us to stay at their woods. Karen was very gracious, hospitable and helpful. I gave Karen $20 for the water and electric use. Would love to return sometime. Again Thank You . If your ever our way, your welcome to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at this quiet country spot about a mile down a dirt road. Host was friendly and helpful.
Nice level spot in the grass, out in a rural area. Dirt Road was a little rough in spots after the rain but didn't have an issue. Very nice meeting hosts sister.
Thank you so much Jan & Ron for allowing my husband & I the privledge of staying at your site. We loved the relaxing atmosphere and natural setting. Your site offered sure a great place to stay after a long day on the road. If you ever come to northern Michigan, please consider staying with us! Again, thank you! Debbie & Klaus
We stayed 3 nights and it was pleasant and relaxing! Unfortunately we did not get to meet our host as they where away but they were kind enough to let us stay. They have family on the property but we really did not even know they were there, we said hello in passing. There are many state parks which we and the dogs enjoyed. Would recommend Peperoni's Pizza, we had calzones....delicious! Would definatly return here and highly recommend to fellow Boondockers.
We enjoyed our stay which allowed use to visit our friends and go dancing in Gainesville. Thank you
This place was great, we even asked to stay an extra day for the 3 night max. Very peaceful and private spot with water and 30 Amps - soloron's family was very welcoming and helpful, we would love to return when back in this area!
Friendly welcome and a quiet rural area.
Enjoyed the area and location!
Our stay was just what we needed, a welcoming place. We ended up staying a shorter time than planned as our plans changed, everyone was flexible. We were given our own space, but the hosts were very open to chatting and we're full of info about the local area.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. I had several affairs to handle in the area and stayed for three days. Having water available was a plus for someone traveling in a teardrop. Soloron's sister was also very nice and made the effort to come and great me. Thank you!
Lovely rural spot in Alachua Florida. Water and electric, surrounded by old Florida oaks and pines. Thank you so much for making our first boondocking experience a great one!
Stopped here on the way north out of Florida and found it to be quiet stop close to I-75. Was grateful for the 30-amp power and water supply. No problem communicating with property owner who lives off site. Had to carefully navigate my 30-foot class C vehicle through gate, but made it through without a problem. Would recommend to others.
Beautiful rustic road under all that weeping spanish moss to drive to the camping spot. Just drive slow. I was 108º heat index, I never would have survived without my airconditioning. Thank you again!
While the adjacent interstate is a tad noisy, it quiets down at night. It's the erfect location for seeing north central Florida's sights or while traveling around the state. We stayed Feb. 12.
Lynda and Robert in Campervan Zephyr.
We stayed with soloron31 for two nights and it was just wonderful. The spot was big and private, and we appreciated having both the water and electric. It was nice to have the time to rest after being on the road for awhile. Thanks again!
We stayed there 2 days and it was perfect. The site even had water and electricity, which was fantastic because it was chilly at night! The drive in is beautiful with some low clearance branches to look out for. Our trailer is 10'6" and we had no issue. Our host was very helpful and his family was super friendly. Thanks again for everything!
