After working for over 46 years at the Miami Herald newspaper, I recently retired and bought a motorhome. My wife and I want to travel as much as possible for as long as possible. I grew up in North Florida and she is from southern Indiana, but we have lived in South Florida for many years.
I'm a pretty good handyman and can do basic mechanical repairs.
We're just starting out, but want to travel all over the US and beyond.
We have a 1995 Ford powered Four Winds class C motorhome that's 25 feet long.
Ron and Jan just stayed one night. They needed a break from the heat and a place to dump. Once we got them setup, we didn't hear a peep until they headed out the next morning. These guys are well traveled and no bother. They are welcome here anytime.
This couple was extremely courteous and self sufficient. They arrived while we were away and followed texted instructions to set up. By the time we arrived home late that evening they were buttoned down. We didn't get to meet them since they left early to attend church but we would be glad to have them back. Hopefully next time we will meet.
We would give soloron a very good recommendation as they were the perfect guests. Had a wonderful visit and they would be welcome anytime.
We enjoyed our stay which allowed use to visit our friends and go dancing in Gainesville. Thank you
This place was great, we even asked to stay an extra day for the 3 night max. Very peaceful and private spot with water and 30 Amps - soloron's family was very welcoming and helpful, we would love to return when back in this area!
Friendly welcome and a quiet rural area.
Enjoyed the area and location!
Our stay was just what we needed, a welcoming place. We ended up staying a shorter time than planned as our plans changed, everyone was flexible. We were given our own space, but the hosts were very open to chatting and we're full of info about the local area.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. I had several affairs to handle in the area and stayed for three days. Having water available was a plus for someone traveling in a teardrop. Soloron's sister was also very nice and made the effort to come and great me. Thank you!
Lovely rural spot in Alachua Florida. Water and electric, surrounded by old Florida oaks and pines. Thank you so much for making our first boondocking experience a great one!
Stopped here on the way north out of Florida and found it to be quiet stop close to I-75. Was grateful for the 30-amp power and water supply. No problem communicating with property owner who lives off site. Had to carefully navigate my 30-foot class C vehicle through gate, but made it through without a problem. Would recommend to others.
Beautiful rustic road under all that weeping spanish moss to drive to the camping spot. Just drive slow. I was 108º heat index, I never would have survived without my airconditioning. Thank you again!
While the adjacent interstate is a tad noisy, it quiets down at night. It's the erfect location for seeing north central Florida's sights or while traveling around the state. We stayed Feb. 12.
Lynda and Robert in Campervan Zephyr.
We stayed with soloron31 for two nights and it was just wonderful. The spot was big and private, and we appreciated having both the water and electric. It was nice to have the time to rest after being on the road for awhile. Thanks again!
We stayed there 2 days and it was perfect. The site even had water and electricity, which was fantastic because it was chilly at night! The drive in is beautiful with some low clearance branches to look out for. Our trailer is 10'6" and we had no issue. Our host was very helpful and his family was super friendly. Thanks again for everything!
