My wife and I recently took delivery on a 2019 Lance 1575 lightweight trailer from Richard's Boat and RV in Lancaster, CA. Earlier we acquired our new tow vehicle, a 2018 GMC Canyon mid-size pickup with the 2.8 Duramax diesel. It's a terrific, lightweight, nimble, and easy-to-tow package.
We're looking forward to doing some traveling. We love camping and exploring new places, especially in the Southwest. We're also very avid hikers. For some folks it's golfing, rock-hounding, birding, fishing, or 4-wheeling. Our passion is hiking new trails.
My wife and I raise a large garden and are more than happy to share our in-season, fresh produce with you. In the spring we have lettuce, broccoli, peas, radishes, carrots, cabbage, etc. If you're here during the four week span of later June to mid-July, you'll be able to pick ripe raspberries. From mid-August or later you'll be able to enjoy our vine-ripened tomatoes.
I'm fairly good at fixing most anything. If you are full-timing or just need some help along the road, I'll do my best to assist you. I have a shop vac and cleaning supplies if you would like to do some housekeeping.
If you have questions about your Medicare supplement, Medicare advantage, or Part D prescription plans, I may be able to assist you, as I offer these plans for my clients.
The American Southwest and any other interesting places in the West. It's higher elevations when it starts getting hot.
We took delivery of our lightweight, 2019 Lance 1575 trailer in June 2018. As time and funds permit, we are modding and equipping our new trailer to maximize its dry camping capabilities. We have installed our Nature's Head composting toilet. So far, we love it. No black tank to dump and no dump station to locate! This also saves on water usage when camping in dry, remote places. We'd love to hear from others that have taken this step and how it's worked out for you. We have also completed our lithium (LiFePO4) battery install. Compared to having two, 100 amp hour AGM batteries, this has shaved off about 110 pounds of battery weight. In addition, we have installed a Victron inverter (120 VAC) and a Victron battery management system. With a factory-installed 160 watt solar panel on the roof and an 80 watt portable panel, we should be able to generate most of our power needs. We'll still need the generator to run our A/C in not weather. Were looking forward to making other mods as time permits. The Lance 1575 is a 20 feet long trailer which includes about four feet of tongue length. Our tow vehicle is a 2018 GMC Canyon mid-sized pickup with the 2.8 Duramax diesel.
We were very greatful for the kind hospitality ,after a short time felt like a part of the family.
Shared walkes, meals and talked during the 3 days.
Some electrical issues were taken care off,by the hosts son that saved us the trouble to go to a RV repair shop.
We were invited to pick from their vegetable garden, tomatoes, onions, herbs and berries.
Thank you very much for this great experiance.
It was a special experience to in Lewiston to this family.
Their way of life and taking care of their fruit and vegetable garden was beau-tiful.
Thanks for your hospitality and tasty breakfast. Robert and Nelleke of the Netherlands.
Very nice family! Great spot to stay in Lewiston, ID. Really enjoyed dinner and breakfast and talking with the whole family. I loved the hands on attention in helping me back my trailer in to the camper spot, and the garden tour was also amazing. They went above and beyond any expectation. Even called the local RV supplies store for me to find a door-open latch. Great people!!
We stayed with Lancer in early August, 2017 and had a great visit, in spite of the pervasive haze from forest fires. Good parking spot, easy to find. On the edge of town and close to services, but in a quiet area with some small farms/ranches. The outgoing hosts we're very welcoming and made us feel right at home. Be sure to get a tour of their awesome garden - impressive! We had the opportunity to join the family for meals and enjoyed interesting and wide-ranging discussions. We look forward to the possibility for a return visit, and highly recommend them as hosts if you are planning to be in their area.
We were planning a trip through Lewiston and made arrangements to stay with Lancer. However due to extreme forest fire activity in that part of Idaho, heavy smoke and road closures we were forced to change our plans. Our would be hosts went above and beyond to keep us informed of local conditions even getting up in the middle of the night to send us an update and were very helpful in adjusting our plans. We will be back to stay with Lance another day when the smoke is cleared and the fires settled.
God Bless and stay safe
