We've been traveling the US and Canada since 2005. Been snowbirds and spent most of the time in CA and AZ. Have seen most of the 50 States. We are social people and like to exchange experiences along the road. Love to have visitors. We live on the most beautiful island in Atlantic Canada - Campobello Island, which has a bridge connection to the State of Maine. Come and see it!. We do not like to host visitors who are supporting the American Trump administration. If you do, pls. don't come to us.
We do blogging, we do renovations, small construction projects.

Peter and Bea spent a couple of days at our place outside of San Antonio, TX and aside from them bringing the cold weather with them we had a very nice visit. They chose to dry camp in our pasture and used a very small and quiet generator for their power needs. While at lunch one day a house behind the restaurant was on fire and Peter took a couple of photos. They ended up being published in the newspaper. So, he's a good photographer as well as island guide. Their dog Molly got along well with our dogs and they enjoyed their time together as well. We're looking forward to returning the visit one day.
We loved our visit on Campobello island. A great experience touring the island, seeing the sights, and spending the night at View Across the Bay! Our hosts were extremely generous and even offered us a tour of the lighthouse peninsula and lots of history about the island the next morning. We hope to cross paths with them again in the future!
We had an unfortunate experience of a broken down motorhome. Peter and Bea made lemonades from 🍋.. we were feeling so bad that we were going to have to cancel our stay, but Peter called and invited us to come over for a tour anyway since we would be sitting and waiting for our motorhome to get fixed.. we had a wonderful tour of the island and learned so much from Peter. After our tour he invited us to his house for coffee and treats.. Peter and Bea became instant friends, we didn’t sleep in their driveway that night, but we sure got to know them, and their wonderful dog Dixie. I hope we get back this way again some day.
Not only loved staying here but loved my beach walk with the dogs and chat by the fire. A great place to explore Campobello from. Don’t miss tea with Eleanor at the Roosevelt property!
A great big thank-you to 'american-traveler' for hosting us and enabling us to explore Campobello Island - what an interesting place. We had a wonderful time exploring the island and getting to know our hosts, including the lovely Miss Dixie. We would be delighted to have them visit us sometime!
Thank you for a wonderful time. You live on a beautiful island.
Such a great stay. Fun couple and dog. The area was wonderful as well.
If you ever have a chance to visit Campobello Island, don't hesitate to do so, and if possible, stay with these delightful Boondockers Welcome hosts. They are kind, generous with their time, and also offer one of the best and most relaxing views we have experienced as Boondockers guests. There really is something magical about this place. Don't miss it.
Very very friendly. Walked my dog with her in the evening, my husband hung out with him at night. Hope to swing back around here upon our return to the US!
Quiet neighborhood. Dog-friendly. Nice driveway location with privacy during my stay.
Hosts and dog were great fun.
Highly recommended.
Island time was wonderful.
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The location was very quiet and pleasant. Located a quarter of a mike or so from the shore, but has some views of the water.
This couple and third little island were absolutely wonderful. Quiet nights, great conversations and spectacular scenery.
Once again we meet friends we didn't know we had!
Our hosts were kind and accommodating. We enjoyed visiting with them and sharing stories. Our dogs had a great time playing together. The island is a lovely place to visit and we had a great time exploring, riding bikes, visiting the international park, having “tea with Eleanor,” and watching for wildlife. We highly recommend our hosts and the location.
This is a very nice place to stay on the island. Our hosts were very cordial. Their dinner recommendation was great.
A very gracious and generous couple who have an encyclopedic knowledge of Campobello.
These folks have a great central location for exploring the island. They offer 15 amp Hydro (electric) and water. The sight is easy to back into and almost level with plenty of room for our toad. The night sky is filled with stars and the breeze keeps the critters to a minimum.
Very highly recommend and will request again when in the area.
What wonderful hosts they were. Bea and Peter met us and made us feel comfortable right away. She talked to us about the island and gave us brochures. Peter also was a wealth of information not only about Roosevelt Campobello international park but the rest of the island. We spent an evening chatting with them a long with some wine. If you come to Campobello Island we recommend you stay with them.
We had a wonderful visit with american-traveler and enjoyed a peaceful night. Thank you for hosting us!
Such a beautiful island! Our hosts were very nice and helpful too. They knew exactly where we needed to go to see whales and seals. Peaceful and welcoming.
The couple and thier dog were very nice and the location and all was great. Level, dark and quiet.
Really enjoyed our stay with American Traveler. We would love to return again next year. They were very welcoming and Dixie, their sweet dog, was a joy to meet also.
Very level and dark and quiet.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Very kind, accommodating and welcoming. Shared our meals on their porch overlooking the water.
Another must return to place!
Thank you B and P.

Wonderful host, great conversationalist, beautiful location - definitely a place to return to
thank you so much for the tour
This was the greeting we received from our host on arrival on this beautiful layback island. Guess what! We weren't disappointed....even slightly. From the personalised tour, the sunny weather, stunning lighthouse views, to evening drinks and BBQ, everything was perfect....even the rissoles. Thanks for being more than just wonderful hosts and I certainly hope we can meet again either here or Down Under for our warm winter days.

Our american traveler hosts were friendly, helpful, and very interesting to talk with. Their driveway was a quiet, level, and comfortable place to stay. They are very knowledgable about Campbello Island and the surrounding area and are very willing to share what they know. They even got us tickets to Tea with Elanor at the International Park here on Campobello. They have traveled extensively in the US and Canada. We highly recommend their driveway as a great boondocking location.
We stayed with this wonderful couple on June 4, 2017 after arriving on Campobello Island to visit the International Park and the Roosevelt estate the following day. They had told us before we arrived where to park and as we backed our van into position, they came outside to greet us. We arrived in black fly season and they invited us inside to visit and meet their friendly dog. Their site was quiet and we had a good stay and were able to get out to the Roosevelt estate early. It is a beautiful island that we enjoyed visiting very much much and the International Park is well worth a trip to the island. Thank you very much, American Traveler!
They are good hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable, we had a very pleasant stay, Peter was right Campabello island is beautiful.
The hosts made me feel like part of the family. They welcomed me warmly and then went out of their way to make sure I saw their beautiful Island. I highly recommend the Liberty Point hike, Tea with Eleanor, plus the trip to the lighthouse at low tide. The hosts had tickets to the tea but if none are available it is still well worth the admission. Then, if you are really lucky you will be there when the wild raspberries or wild blackberries are ripe. Their home is on seven acres with lots of berry vines and apple trees and they urged me to pick my fill--I did. Thank you, American-traveler for an exceptional stay.
We had a great time visiting Campobello Island. The hosts made our stay even more enjoyable with fun discussions and Island information. We highly recommend these hosts!
They were wonderful hosts, and invited us along to a local shanty performance, followed by a great view of the sunset. We really enjoyed the Island and understand why they call it home. We can only recommend a trip to Campobello and a visit with these wonderful hosts. We hope to see them out here on the we(s)t coast sometime soon!
We stayed near the end of October, 2015. It was clear and cold, but we were warmly welcomed by our hosts. We visited, and were given great information about the area, including some great hikes we could (and did) take in the park. We wish we could have stayed another night, but it was getting late in the season and we had many miles to travel to get back home. Definitely recommend these hosts.
We're so glad we stopped at Peter & Bea's place on Campobello Island; they were great hosts and we enjoyed talking with them. There's really a lot to see and do, great for biking and hiking, and the history of the island is very interesting.
Peter and Bea are wonderful people who welcomed us like we were long lost friends. The island is a very unique location to visit and Peter is very knowledgable about the area's beaches, hiking trailes and other attractions.
We had a great time with Peter and Bea, they could not do enough for us. Would love to have a chance to return their generous hospitality. We would have missed a lot of wonderful sights without them taking the time to really show us the Island of Campobello. Thank you so much again.
We had such a great time with these two (three including the beautiful Molly). Spent two nights and had fun exploring the island. They helped us map out which local attractions to hit up during our stay. Had coffee in the morning on the porch with Peter. We even went berry picking on their property and Bea sent us home with a jar of Service Berry jelly. Thanks for the lovely visit!
Peter and Bea are top notch hosts!
Along with providing electricity and refilling our drinking water supply, Peter gave us a wealth of information regarding the beautiful island that they live on. Our stay was very pleasant and we felt very welcome.
I was very impressed with their quick response to our request to boondock and also considering the fact that we did not give much prior notice.
Thank you for making our first boondocking experience a memorable and enjoable one!
This was our very first Boondockers experience and it couldn't have been better. Peter and Beatrix were over-the-top kind, helpful and friendly; they made our stay on lovely Campobello even more wonderful. Highly recommended! Also, if you get a chance, Peter runs a great all-island tour for a very reasonable price. He takes you to all the highlights, including Franklin Roosevelt's gorgeous summer home and the newly restored East Quoddy lighthouse. He is very knowledgeable about island history as well so it is well worth the money!
Our fist boondocking experience using this site after the wonderful experience we had. This will be our preferred means of traveling. Great hosts all around beautiful spot. Yes for recommending this host.
We were there shortly after the bad storm in July and power was a problem . A plus ,to the service of the tourist bureau on the island that actually directed us. to Bea's Home. Our visit echoes others recommendations and her informative knowledge just put this island on the map of places one must visit. We had a wonderful time there and found her an "A One " hostess.
Lindsey and I had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights with Bea at her lovely home, our bus fit into her driveway just fine! She was an excellent host, giving us a detailed tour of her beautiful island. We are very happy that we got to meet her and Molly, their sweet doggie. Would definitely recommend Campobello to anyone interested. Thanks for everything Bea!
Wonderful friendly people with a scenic view of the bay. Hope Bea & Peter will visit us.
We spent a couple of nights visiting with Bea. She was kind enough to give us a tour of her lovely island. We absolutely loved it. We're looking forward to our next visit.
We had a wonderful visit to Campobello Is. learning much about the history and geography from our knowledgable hosts! They were very welcoming and helpful, and have an easy boondocking site. Thanks for the great visit!
We stayed with our hosts for a couple of nights and found it very peaceful and relaxing. Both hosts were very knowledgeable of the Island and we experienced a wonderful time. Highly recommended.
We had a great time and made new friends at american-traveler's house. They live in a very special place that everyone should try to visit. We learned a lot from these people and hope to visit again some day.
They were very helpful, friendly and informative. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Wonderful area with view overlooking the bay with fantastic sunsets. Many places to walk and enjoy.
These hosts couldn't be more accommodating to boondockers. They were extremely friendly and helpful and their local knowledge is vast. We really enjoyed our time with them and wish we could have stayed longer. Campobello Island is a beautiful and friendly place to visit, put it on your list!
