I 60 years old and the owner of the BundutecUSA manufacturing facility the builds truck campers and small expedition gear trailers. I grew up camping and ran Northstar Campers for the past 40 years until I sold my interest in 2014.
When I travel, I like to run hard until I get to my destination stopping only when I get tired. The Walmarts can be noisy and other places I cannot be sure of the security. I like to be able to park someplace I know I will be welcomed and get a good night's rest.
Raymond is a small town with a restaurant and a gas/convenience store with diesel less than one block away.
Our facility can do some repairs during working hours
Yes, my dog goes everywhere with us
Live in Waterloo, Iowa and the stop over spot is at my shop in Raymond
I drive a Dodge 2500 Crew cab with a 8.5 slide-in camper pulling a 12 foot trailer
Easy on and off the expressway. Great level spot on grass with privacy. Didn't get to meet the host since we were on the weekend but directions were clear. Definitely will use again if doing US 20 trip.
Very helpful host! They make and really cool campers. They helped us out when needed and the spot was level and green. The train only came by once overnight, but it was no big deal.
We were later than planned due to trouble with our truck but the owner was very accommodating and gave us details on where to set up if nobody was there when we arrived. The next morning we had issues with the truck again and the staff at Bundutec helped us out, even gave my husband a ride to the parts store. We would have been stuck without their help.
We had a nice shady spot to sit and relax for the evening. As other campers state there are trains, we had 2 overnight and 1 the next morning. We are not sure if they would have woken us up, we were already awake with a scared dog because of a big thunderstorm.
Thank you so much for the help. We would definitely stay here again.
Host met me on arrival and directed me to the parking site. Grass area, level. Nice quiet night.
We were welcomed by Jen, the receptionist and offered our choice of a couple of places to set up. we chose across the the road on a strip of grass that was firm and level and sheltered us from about half the nearby train track. We were about 200 yards from the grade level crossing. Only one train came through in the night. In the morning I had a brief tour of the facility. It is interesting to see the truck campers being built. I definitely would recommend anyone passing by consider stopping.
This was just the perfect spot for an overnight stay. I may have heard the train but very quiet and out of the way. Thanks for letting us park there. The birds and the rabbits were entertaining.
Very quiet parking area at the back of his business, very enjoyable after a long day of driving. Easy to find and to park. Showed me his manufacturing plant the next morning, as a former manufacturing engineer it is always fun to see how other people set up their facilities. The tour was very much appreciated.
I love that people will open up their parking lot to us Boondockers. No hassle, so easy and felt safe
Great place to stay the night. We arrived super behind the schedule and the host was very understanding. It is a parking lot so we just pulled in for the night and left in the morning. We didn’t meet the host, but at the same time appreciated the freedom and trust. If we weren’t in a rush, we’d totally like a tour at the factory.
Oh boy I'll stay at this place again. So convenient and in quaint small town America! Very safe and quiet. Just a short stay but totally worth it. My heart is full. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for letting us park for the night! We pulled our big rig into the grass and it was perfect. The train came through once during the night but it wasn't bad at all. It was a quiet spot and we slept well!
Stayed on the grass area great 2 night stay. Waterloo is close by with everything you could want. The trains bothered gypsy the cat but not us. Hosts were friendly.
Would stay again.
Great spot. Close to major interstate. Easy in and out. Nice and level in the parking lot. Didn’t need to unhitch.
Sorry we didn’t get to meet, hopefully next time through.
Thanks so much for having us
Host was very nice. His place was perfect for a quick stop over.
Very nice and accommodating. Safe. Great reception for local tv service. Internet signal good.
We moved our stay up one day early and Our host was so nice to accept us.
Location is convenient and there was plenty of walking area for our pup. There is a train but it passed through only once. Thank you for hosting us!
BundutecUSA is easy to find and get into. Convenient to the interstate and a fuel stop. We stayed in the rear on the concrete where it was level. We had a quiet evening with no traffic on the street. We did have a train come through at bedtime and another just as my alarm went off in the morning.
We will request this location again and recommend it to others.
Thank you! Nice flat spot up next to building. Very quiet, no road noise. One train hardly heard it during night. Easy access to highway 20. Nice little bar/restaurant 2 minute walk. Would deffinately stay here again.
Location is easy to access. Host was very pleasant and responsive. As noted in the property description and by other guests, there is a train track close by, but the only trains that came through during our stay were early evening then just before we pulled out in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.
Rcwillett is an awesome host and the site was perfect! Safe and Lots of space for our dog to run. Would definitely recommend this host to anyone looking to boondock near Waterloo, Iowa
Enjoyed a nice stay at BundutecUSA. Rory met us upon arrival and provided an easily accessible level parking area. The train is nearby but didn't disturb our quiet night. Great location for exploring the Waterloo area.
Rory has a big grassy area across from his business. Plenty of room for any size rig. He closes up shop and heads home at 5, so we didn't get to visit with him much, but it is a nice place to spend the night. There are train tracks very close by, and the train is loud! But only one train over night, so not a big deal. There is also a dive bar right next door, looks like a local hang out, macro beer and deep fried food if you need it.
Rory came out to meet us and showed us where to park, in a beautiful grassy lot across from his shop building. For those who prefer quiet, be aware that the train tracks are on the opposite side of his building. We heard three trains the first night, but only one on the second night, and it was before we went to sleep. The little bit of vehicle traffic from the side street didn't bother us at all. We would recommend this host for anyone passing through east central Iowa, near Waterloo.
Easy to find. Great accessibility. Very helpful. Only one train went by at night and it wasn't loud. Would stay again if I was passing thru.
Extremely accommodating, very nice folks. Quiet town. Enjoying every minute. Thank you for hosting. Would stay again
This is a convenient boondocking spot with easy access to the expressway. We felt much safer and at ease than staying at a Walmart etc. It is a nice quiet location with a quick walk to the convenience store if you need anything. We enjoyed that we could put out a slide and sit outside the RV in the hot evening. It is on a very quiet road that was perfect for walking our dogs.
The train does come through about 3x in the middle of the night and you are right next to the track, so it is very loud. This didn't bother us as we used to live next to a track and we were expecting it.
We enjoyed checking out BundutecUSA's product line as well! We learned about some awesome new products for future reference.
We really appreciate a RCWillet allowing fellow RVers to share his space!
