We’re Danny & Maria, traveling the country in our converted shortbus, Indie!

Do you know or have you hosted this user?

We are actors by trade (and met in a play) and we do some other stuff too, but we find we are happiest when traveling! We recently set out in our new-to-us bus, Indie (short for Indicator indicator, the Greater Honeyguide). Doin that #vanlife thing!

Skills & Expertise to Share

Well, I am an actor, playwright, and dialect and accent coach, and also play some music and know a little bit of a handful of languages, and Maria is an actor and bartender/barista and also enjoys horseback riding, architecture and photography. So if you want to learn how to mix a nice cocktail on horseback while singing in a British accent, you know, hit us up.

dannyandmaria's Pets

No, Indie is enough! We do have a few birds, but they aren’t real.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

Lake Shore Drive was nice. At the time of writing we are staying on an alpaca farm. We also don’t mind a Walmart parking lot in a pinch.

dannyandmaria's Hometown

Maria is from Chinatown, NY, born and raised, and Danny was born uptown but grew up mostly in Amherst, Massachusetts. When we’re not in our bus, we’re based in NYC.

Rig Type: Class B

19 feet long

We have a short “skoolie,” aka a converted short school bus. It’s a 2006 Chevrolet Express Cutaway 3500, 19’10” long (including the mirrors) and between 9-10 ft high (we have installed a maxxair ceiling fan with a removable rain cover that adds some height). The bus is completetely self-contained with a bed, dinette, sink and greywater tank, propane stove, fridge, and toilet.

Sweet Skoolie

We would gladly host Danny and Maria again. They were considerate guests and are fun, adventurous, interesting people who we could easily enjoy spending more time with.

Sleep over 😊

DannyandMaria slipped in and out on their way North. No trouble at all and would welcome them back anytime.
