We are a young couple traveling with our dog in a small 5th wheel camper. We decided it's time to take a break from our careers for a bit to enjoy life and travel. We enjoy hiking, and we brought our mountain bikes with for occasional rides if the opportunity arises. In this trip we hope to see roads less traveled, and meet fellow adventurers along the way!
He is a machinist and an all-around handyman. She is a scientist who dabbles into art and sewing for fun. He's traveled all 48 states, she's lived in 3 continents. For us, the adventure never stops.
Mechanic / machinist
Jake is a huge tinkerer and enjoys mechanical problem solving. In my world, anything Jake touches practically fixes itself :)
Irene recently got into sewing clothes as a hobby. If you need some basic repairs like patching holes or closing up seams, let me know!
Yes! Maggie, a 30lb low energy labrador-pit mix. She LOVES attention and pets and treats. She is well trained though slightly anxious around other dogs, so we don't allow her near other dogs and keep her on a leash at all times.
Our recent stay in the UP, which showcased perfect conditions for stargazing and cool summer nights currently holds that spot! But we are new to this so we are still on the search for our favorites!
Irene is from Manila, Philippines and moved to the US for her postdoc stint. Jake is from Manhattan, IL. We are staying in the RV full time for a few months until we decide on a place to settle to.
We have a 25ft 5th wheel and a 4WD F250.
We could not have asked for better people as our first Boondockers. They were a great help with farm chores and pleasant guests that, over the course of their stay, became friends. They were always gracious guests who treated our place as their own. We look forward to hosting them again on their next trip to the UP.
We hosted irene Jake at our property and did not get to meat them as we had to leave town for a couple days. They needed nothing but a place to park for a couple days . They treated our property as their own. Upon arriving home could. not see sign they where even there
What a sweet couple. Very polite. He is certainly amazing. When we travel he would be so handy to have close at hand.
She is adorable.
They are most welcome to return.
We didn’t have a chance to visit, but great communication with these guys. Quite and didn’t even know they were here. So glad they enjoyed visiting our area.
Some people enjoy quiet, peaceful relaxation and down time while traveling, others a never met a stranger. It is always fun to figure out just what each guest desires. We told ourselves that we would go over to their camper and visit for an hour. We had so much in common and so enjoyed our visit, it went way into the night. We had to force ourselves not to wonder over there very often because we didn't want to "hover", but yet we could have easily talked for hours more. Great conversationalist, and by the time they left, they felt like family! irenejakedavis, may you have smooth roads and tailwinds as you crisscross the country! We will miss you!
Great experience with first-time boondockers. Super nice couple!
