Joe & I are excited about living this lifestyle of FT RVing. We plan on driving across Canada this summer as my hubby has never been to the east coast. We are taking a friend along with us as well. We have decided that our home base will be in Nanaimo, BC. This is advantageous to us as my sister lives here and she needs help with her girls, one who is special needs. We retired out here from Manitoba in June of 2011. Sold the whole shebang & bought a 37.5ft 5er & a Chev 1 ton dually 4 door, long box to pull it. We went from a 4 level split S&B stuffed full to 387sq ft. We love it. Update Dec 12 2013. We did the East Coast tour last summer. Spent an average of 2 weeks in each province except NFLd. Ferry fees were pushing $1500 one way. Traveled the Cabot Trail. We were gone 3 months total. This past spring we purchased a 1989 Security slide in camper for our truck. Modified it to accomodate my oldest niece who requires a safe place to sleep. Camped all summer long with my nieces. Now we are smaller & can go more places at just 25ft instead of 52ft.

Favorite Boondocking Locations

At this moment we have not compiled any locations as we are just about to start our journey.

We are completely self sufficient as we have 3 solar panels (have not had the chance to really give them a work out). It is fully insulated, heated tanks, valve gates, black flush. Dual pane windows We also own a 1989 Security slide in camper. It has been modified at the bunk area & a seat belt installed in the dinette to accomodate my special needs niece.
